This user manual provides comprehensive information on the Samsung Portable SSD T7, a superfast external storage device designed for convenient data protection.
Introduction
The Samsung T7 is a superfast external storage device offering convenient data protection. It allows for rapid data transfer, robust construction, compact portability, and advanced thermal management.
Transfer in a flash
Transfer massive files within seconds with the incredible speed of USB 3.2 Gen2 on the T7. The embedded PCIe NVMe technology facilitates sequential read/write speeds of up to 1,050/1,000 MB/s, respectively.
Built strong and safe
The Solid State Drive (SSD) has no moving parts and features a sturdy metal body that protects the hardware from falls of up to 2 meters. The T7 is backed by a 3-year limited warranty. (Internal free fall shock test conducted under controlled conditions.)
Compact Portability
The T7's pocket-sized and slim design, with an aluminum metal case, offers enhanced durability and mobility. Weighing approximately 58g, it is as slim as a pencil and available in capacities up to 2TB.
Thermal Reliability
The T7 integrates advanced thermal management technologies, including DTG (Dynamic Thermal Guard) and ePCM (encapsulated Phase Change Materials), to maintain optimal operating temperatures and safeguard user data. It is protected by a 3-year limited warranty.
Management software
The T7 comes with upgraded software for PCs and Macs to help set up a password and get the latest firmware updates. A mobile app for Android smartphones and tablets is also available.
Multi-device compatibility
The T7 is compatible with PC, Mac, Android devices, and gaming consoles. It includes USB Type C-to-C and Type C-to-A cables for convenience. (Compatibility with host devices may vary; check www.samsung.com/support for a list.)

To restore write access, eject the drive on Mac OS or run Check Disk (CHKDSK) on Windows OS.
Capacity of T7 Displayed on the System
The displayed capacity may differ from the labeled capacity due to differences in measurement standards (decimal vs. binary) and partitioning. For example, 1 GB = 1,024MB in Windows OS and 1GB = 1,000MB in Mac OS.
Labeled capacity uses the decimal system: 1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes, 1 TB = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes.
Using T7
Connecting T7
Select the appropriate cable for your device and connect one end to the device and the other to the T7.
Disconnecting T7
Always use the Safely Remove Hardware feature before disconnecting the T7 to prevent data loss or damage. Failure to do so may cause data losses or damage to the T7. Samsung is not liable for data loss or product damage due to non-compliance with this instruction.
