Please make sure the main breaker is off before installing!
CT Direction Check
For Split Core CT: Open the clamp to see the arrow (P1→P2) or (K→L), or find it on the sticker on the outside of the clamp. This indicates the direction of the CT. The CT supports bi-directional sensing.
For Donut CT: The direction is from the concave surface of the CT to the flat surface. The CT supports bi-directional sensing.
Connection and Usage
- Connect the AC Input cable to a socket near the Electrical Box to power on the PC473-R, following the wiring diagram. Apply the CT on the electric cable and ensure the direction of the CT is correct.
- To measure energy consumption, the direction of the CT should be consistent with the direction of the electricity current flows. The power will be positive.
- To measure energy production, the direction of the CT should be opposite to the direction of the electricity current flows. The power will be negative.
Wiring Diagrams
Single Phase electricity wiring diagram: Illustrates a single-phase connection. It shows a circuit breaker connected to the AC input, leading to the PC473-R Power Meter. The meter's terminals are connected to loads (Load 1, Load 2) and an inverter. CT clamps are shown attached to the power lines for each component.
3 Phase electricity wiring diagram: Illustrates a three-phase connection. It shows a circuit breaker for three phases (L1/A, L2/B, L3/C) and Neutral (N) connected to the PC473-R Power Meter. The meter's terminals are connected to loads (Load 1, Load 2) and an inverter. CT clamps are shown attached to each phase line.
Note: When installing, please ensure that the circuit measured by the CT is in the same phase as the circuit powered by PC473-R.
