Safety Warnings
Carefully read, understand, and follow all information in this user manual before installing and using the swimming pool. These warnings, instructions, and safety guidelines address some common risks of water recreation, but they cannot cover all risks and dangers in all cases. Always use caution, common sense, and good judgment when enjoying any water activity. Retain this information for future use.
Non-Swimmer Safety
- Continuous, active, and vigilant supervision of weak swimmers and non-swimmers by a competent adult is required at all times (children under five are at the highest risk of drowning).
- Designate a competent adult to supervise the pool each time it is being used.
- Weak swimmers or non-swimmers should wear personal protection equipment when using the pool.
- When the pool is not in use, or unsupervised, remove all toys from the swimming pool and its surroundings to avoid attracting children.
Safety Devices
- To prevent children from drowning, secure access to the pool with a protection device.
- To prevent children climbing from the inlet and outlet valve, install a barrier (and secure doors/windows if applicable) to prevent unauthorized access.
- Barriers, pool covers, pool alarms, or similar safety devices are helpful but not substitutes for continuous and competent adult supervision.
Safety Equipment
- Keep rescue equipment (e.g., a ring buoy ?) by the pool.
- Keep a working phone and emergency contact numbers near the pool.
Safe Use of the Pool
- Encourage all users, especially children, to learn how to swim.
- Learn Basic Life Support (CPR) and refresh knowledge regularly.
- Instruct all pool users, including children, on what to do in case of an emergency.
- Never dive into any shallow body of water ??. This can lead to serious injury or death.
- Do not use the swimming pool when under the influence of alcohol or medication that may impair your ability to safely use the pool.
- When pool covers are used, remove them completely from the water surface before entering the pool.
- Protect pool occupants from water-related illnesses by keeping the pool water treated and practicing good hygiene. Consult water treatment guidelines.
- Store chemicals (e.g., water treatment, cleaning, disinfection products) out of the reach of children.
- Use signage as outlined below. Signage must be displayed in a prominent position within 2m of the pool.
General Safety Reminders:
- Keep children under supervision in the aquatic environment. No diving.
- Removable ladders ? should be placed on a horizontal surface.
- Regularly check accessible surfaces for injuries, regardless of construction materials.
- Regularly monitor bolts and screws ?; remove splinters or sharp edges to avoid injuries.
- ATTENTION: Do not leave the drained pool outside. The empty pool can deform or be displaced by wind.
- If you have a filter pump ⚙️, refer to its manual.
- WARNING: The pump cannot be used while people are inside the pool!
- If you have a ladder, refer to its manual.
- WARNING: Using a swimming pool implies compliance with safety instructions. Secure access for children under 5 and ensure constant adult supervision.
Choosing the Correct Location
The surface chosen to install the pool must respect the following technical characteristics:
- The surface must uniformly support the total weight of the water and users. Consider that water may escape, softening the surface and reducing its load-bearing capacity.
- Check regularly the position of vertical legs and U-supports. They must be level with the pool bottom. If legs sink, drain water immediately to avoid collapse. Relocate or reinforce the surface.
- Position the pool away from objects children could use to climb into it.
- Place the pool near an adequate drainage system for overflow or emptying.
- The surface must be flat and smooth. Inclines or unevenness can cause unbalanced loading, damage the liner, and bend the frame, potentially leading to collapse.
- The selected surface must be clear of any objects that could damage or perforate the pool bottom due to water weight.
- The surface must be free of aggressive plants and weeds that could grow through the liner and cause leaks. Remove odor/slime-producing vegetation.
- Ensure no overhead power lines or trees are above the location. Check for underground utility pipes, lines, or cables.
- Position the pool away from house entrances. Do not place equipment or furniture around the pool, as escaping water could cause damage.
- The surface must be flat and without holes that can damage the liner material.
Follow these instructions to choose the correct surface and location. Damage due to improper setup is not a manufacturing defect and will void the warranty.
Suggested Surfaces: Grass, ground, concrete, and other suitable surfaces.
Not Suggested Surfaces: Mud, sand, gravel, deck, balcony, driveway, platform, soft/loose soil, or surfaces not meeting the above conditions.
NOTE: Check local city council by-laws regarding fencing, barriers, lighting, and safety requirements.
NOTE: Refer to the filter pump manual if applicable.
NOTE: The ladder must match the pool size and be used only for entry/exit. Do not exceed its payload. Check ladder assembly regularly.
Installation Guide
Installation typically takes 20-30 minutes with 2-3 people (excluding earthworks and filling). Assembly can be completed without tools.
To prolong the pool's life, sprinkle the top rail with talcum powder (not included, easily available) before assembly.
Bestway is not responsible for damage caused by mishandling or failure to follow these instructions.
- Lay out all parts and check quantities against the components list. Visit www.bestwaycorp.com for assistance or FAQs.
- Spread out the pool, ensuring it is right side up. Expose to direct sunlight for at least 1 hour to make it more flexible.
- Place the pool near an adequate drainage system. Ensure inlet A and outlet B are correctly positioned for filter pump connection.
NOTE: Do not use extension power cords for the pump.
ATTENTION: Do not drag the pool on the ground, as this can damage it.
NOTE: Drawings are for illustration purposes only and may not reflect the actual product or scale.
Filling the Pool with Water
ATTENTION: Do not leave the pool unattended while filling.
- Fill the pool until the water reaches the welding line located 5cm-20cm (2.0"-7.9") from the top. DO NOT OVERFILL, as this could cause the pool to collapse. In heavy rainfall, you may need to empty some water to ensure the level is correct.
- After filling, check that the water is not collecting on any side to ensure the pool is level.
- IMPORTANT: If the pool is not level, drain water and re-level the ground. Never attempt to move a filled pool, as this can cause serious injury or damage.
- WARNING: Your pool is under significant pressure. If you notice bulges or uneven sides, the pool is not level, and the sides may burst, discharging water suddenly and causing injury or property damage.
- Check the pool for leaks at valves or seams. Do not add chemicals until all leaks are addressed.
Pool Maintenance
Failure to adhere to maintenance guidelines can risk your health, especially that of your children.
Using Chemical Tablets (not included)
NOTE: Use Chemconnect or Chemical Floater for chemical maintenance with tablets. If your item does not include these, they can be purchased at www.bestwaycorp.com or from a pool dealer.
IMPORTANT: Do not use granular tablets or throw tablets directly into the water, as chemicals can deposit on the bottom, damage the material, and discolor the PVC.
Using Chemical Liquid (not included)
IMPORTANT: Add chemical liquid in small doses in the center of the pool to avoid direct contact with the PVC surface. Direct contact can damage the material and discolor the surface.
NOTE: Remove the chemical dispenser from the pool when it is in use.
IMPORTANT: After chemical maintenance, use a test kit (not included) to test water chemistry before using the pool. Maintain water according to the following table:
Parameter | Values |
---|---|
Water clarity | Clear view of the pool bottom |
Colour of the water | No colour should be observed |
Turbidity in FNU/NTU | max. 1.5 (preferably less than 0.5) |
Nitrate concentration above fill water (mg/l) | max. 20 |
Total organic carbon (TOC) (mg/l) | max. 4.0 |
Redox potential against Ag/AgCl 3.5 m KCl (mV) | min. 650 |
pH value | 6.8 to 7.6 |
Free active chlorine (without cyanuric acid) (mg/l) | 0.3 to 1.5 |
Free chlorine (with cyanuric acid) (mg/l) | 1.0 to 3.0 |
Cyanuric acid (mg/l) | max. 100 |
Combined chlorine (mg/l) | max. 0.5 (preferably close to 0.0 mg/l) |
NOTE: Damage from chemical imbalance is not covered by warranty. Pool chemicals are toxic; handle with care. Risks include chemical vapors and improper storage. Consult your local pool supply retailer for chemical maintenance information and follow manufacturer instructions. Misuse of chemicals and poor water management are not covered by warranty.
Important: Overuse of chemicals can discolor the print and material, and damage the pool liner structure.
Keeping Your Pool Clean
- Contact your local pool supply shop for advice and chemicals/pH kits. Maintaining clean, healthy water is crucial for liner longevity. Follow professional technician instructions for water treatment.
- Keep a bucket of water by the pool to clean feet before entering.
- Cover the pool when not in use.
- Skim the pool surface regularly to remove dirt.
- Check and wash the filter cartridge regularly.
- Gently clean scum from below the top ring with a clean cloth.
- Be careful in case of rain; check water level. If it exceeds the specified level, discharge excess water.
Proper maintenance maximizes pool life. The filtration system must run daily during the season to ensure at least one complete water volume renewal.
NOTE: The pump circulates and filters water. Add chemicals to keep water clean and hygienic.
