Safety First
⚠️ WARNING
Carefully read, understand, and follow all information in this user manual before installing and using the swimming pool. These warnings, instructions, and safety guidelines address some common risks of water recreation, but they cannot cover all risks and dangers in all cases. Always use caution, common sense, and good judgment when enjoying any water activity. Retain this information for future use.
Non-Swimmer Safety
- Continuous, active, and vigilant supervision of weak swimmers and non-swimmers by a competent adult is required at all times (children under five are at the highest risk of drowning).
- Designate a competent adult to supervise the pool each time it is being used.
- Weak swimmers or non-swimmers should wear personal protection equipment when using the pool.
- When the pool is not in use, or unsupervised, remove all toys from the swimming pool and its surrounding to avoid attracting children to the pool.
Safety Devices
- To prevent children from drowning, secure access to the pool with a protection device.
- To prevent children climbing from the inlet and outlet valve, install a barrier (and secure doors/windows) to prevent unauthorized access.
- Barriers, pool covers, pool alarms, or similar safety devices are helpful but not substitutes for continuous and competent adult supervision.
Safety Equipment
- Keep rescue equipment (e.g., a ring buoy) by the pool.
- Keep a working phone and emergency numbers near the pool.
Safe Use of the Pool
- Encourage all users, especially children, to learn how to swim.
- Learn Basic Life Support (CPR) and refresh knowledge regularly.
- Instruct all pool users, including children, what to do in case of an emergency.
- Never dive into shallow water; this can lead to serious injury or death.
- Do not use the pool under the influence of alcohol or medication.
- When using pool covers, remove them completely from the water surface before entering the pool.
- Protect occupants from water-related illnesses by keeping the pool water treated and practicing good hygiene. Consult water treatment guidelines.
- Store chemicals out of the reach of children.
- Display signage as outlined. Signage must be displayed in a prominent position within 2m of the pool.
Note: Keep children under supervision in the aquatic environment. No diving.
Removable ladders should be placed on a horizontal surface.
Regularly check accessible surfaces for injuries.
Regularly monitor bolts and screws. Remove splinters or sharp edges.
ATTENTION: Do not leave the drained pool outside. The empty pool may deform or be displaced by wind.
If you have a filter pump, refer to its manual.
WARNING! The pump cannot be used while people are inside the pool!
If you have a ladder, refer to its manual.
WARNING! Use of a swimming pool implies compliance with safety instructions. Secure access for children under 5 and maintain constant adult supervision.
Choosing the Correct Location
The surface chosen to install the pool must meet the following technical characteristics:
- The surface must uniformly support the total weight of the water and users. Consider that water may escape, softening the surface.
- Check vertical legs and U-supports regularly. They must be level with the pool bottom. If legs sink, drain water immediately to prevent collapse. Relocate or modify the surface.
- Position the pool away from objects children could use to climb into it.
- Position the pool near an adequate drainage system.
- The surface must be flat and smooth. Inclined or uneven surfaces can cause unbalanced loading, damage the liner, and bend the frame, potentially leading to collapse and injury.
- The surface must be clear of any objects that could damage or perforate the pool bottom due to water weight.
- The surface must be clear of aggressive plants and weeds that could grow through the liner.
- Ensure no overhead power lines or trees are above the location. Check for underground utility pipes or cables.
- Position the pool away from house entrances. Do not place furniture around the pool, as escaping water can cause damage.
- The surface must be flat and without holes that can damage the liner.
Follow these instructions carefully. Damage due to improper setup is not a manufacturing defect and voids the warranty.
Suggested surfaces: grass, ground, concrete, and other suitable surfaces.
Not suggested surfaces: mud, sand, gravel, deck, balcony, driveway, platform, soft/loose soil, or surfaces not meeting conditions.
Check local by-laws for fencing, barriers, lighting, and safety requirements.
Refer to filter pump and ladder manuals as needed.
Pool Maintenance
Failure to adhere to maintenance guidelines can risk health, especially for children.
Using Chemical Tablets (not included)
Use Chemconnect or Chemical Floater for tablet maintenance. If your item doesn't include one, purchase separately from www.bestwaycorp.com or a pool dealer.
IMPORTANT: Do not use granular tablets or throw tablets directly into water. Chemicals can deposit on the bottom, damage material, and discolor PVC.
Using Chemical Liquid (not included)
IMPORTANT: Add chemical liquid in small doses in the center of the pool to avoid direct contact with the PVC surface. Direct contact can damage material and discolor the surface.
Remove the chemical dispenser when the pool is in use.
IMPORTANT: After chemical maintenance, use a test kit to test water chemistry before using the pool. Maintain water according to the table below.
Water Chemistry Table
Parameter | Values |
---|---|
Water clarity | Clear view of the pool bottom |
Colour of the water | No colour should be observed |
Turbidity in FNU/NTU | max. 1.5 (preferably less than 0.5) |
Nitrate concentration above fill water (mg/l) | max. 20 |
Total organic carbon (TOC) (mg/l) | max. 4.0 |
Redox potential against Ag/AgCl 3.5 m KCl (mV) | min. 650 |
pH value | 6.8 to 7.6 |
Free active chlorine (without cyanuric acid) (mg/l) | 0.3 to 1.5 |
Free chlorine (with cyanuric acid) (mg/l) | 1.0 to 3.0 |
Cyanuric acid (mg/l) | max. 100 |
Combined chlorine (mg/l) | max. 0.5 (preferably close to 0.0 mg/l) |
Note: Damage from chemical imbalance is not covered by warranty. Pool chemicals are toxic; handle with care. Consult local pool supply retailers for more information. Pay close attention to manufacturer's instructions. Misuse of chemicals and mismanagement of pool water are not covered by warranty.
Important: Overuse of chemicals can discolor printing and pool material, and damage the liner structure.
Keeping Your Pool Clean
- Contact your local pool supply shop for advice and chemicals/pH kits. Maintaining clean, healthy water is crucial for liner longevity. Follow professional technician instructions for water treatment.
- Keep a bucket of water by the pool to clean feet before entering.
- Cover the pool when not in use.
- Skim the pool surface regularly to remove dirt.
- Check and wash the filter cartridge regularly.
- Gently clean scum from below the top ring with a clean cloth.
- Be careful during rain. Check water level; if it exceeds the expected level, discharge excess water.
- If it rains, check the water level against the specified level. If it exceeds, drain to the specified level.
Proper maintenance maximizes pool life.
During the season, the filtration system must run daily to ensure at least one complete water volume renewal.
The pump circulates water and filters particles. Add chemicals for clean and hygienic water.
Repair
For leaks, use the provided underwater adhesive repair patch. Instructions are in the FAQs on www.bestwaycorp.com.
Dismantling
- Unscrew the drain valve cap counter-clockwise.
- Connect the adaptor to the hose and place the other end where you will drain the pool. (Check local drainage by-laws).
- Screw the hose adaptor's control ring clockwise onto the drain valve. The valve opens, and water drains automatically.
- When draining is finished, unscrew the control ring to close the valve.
- Disconnect the hose.
- Screw the cap back onto the drain valve.
- Air dry the pool.
ATTENTION: Water flow can be controlled with the control ring.
ATTENTION: Do not leave the drained pool outside.
Storage
- Remove and store all accessories and spare parts clean and dry.
- Once the pool is completely dry, sprinkle with talcum powder to prevent sticking, then fold carefully. If not fully dry, mold may form and damage the liner.
- Store liner and accessories in a dry place with moderate temperatures (5°C / 41°F to 38°C / 100°F).
- Store pool and accessories as described during the rainy season as well.
- Improper draining can cause serious personal injury or property damage.
- Disassemble the pool during the off-season (winter months). Store in a dry location out of children's reach.
Installation
Installation typically takes 20-30 minutes with 2-3 people (excluding earthworks and filling). Assembly can be done without tools.
To prolong liner life, sprinkle the top rail with talcum powder before assembly (not included, easily available).
Bestway is not responsible for damage caused by mishandling or failure to follow instructions.
- Lay out all parts and check quantities against the components list. Visit www.bestwaycorp.com for assistance.
- Spread out the pool, ensuring the correct side is up. Let it sit in direct sunlight for at least 1 hour to make it more flexible.
- Place the pool near an adequate drainage system. Ensure inlet A and outlet B are positioned correctly for filter pump connection.
NOTE: Do not use extension power cords for the pump.
ATTENTION: Do not drag the pool on the ground, as this can damage it.
NOTE: Drawings are for illustration purposes only and may not reflect the actual product or scale.
Filling Pool with Water
ATTENTION: Do not leave the pool unattended while filling.
- Fill the pool until water reaches the welding line, 5cm-20cm (2.0"-7.9") from the top.
- DO NOT OVERFILL, as this could cause the pool to collapse. In heavy rain, you may need to empty some water to maintain the correct level.
- After filling, check that the water is level on all sides.
- Check for leaks at valves or seams. Do not add chemicals until any evident water loss is addressed.
IMPORTANT: If the pool is not level, drain water and re-level the ground. Never move a filled pool; serious injury or damage may occur.
WARNING: Your pool is under pressure. Bulges or uneven sides indicate the pool is not level, potentially causing sides to burst and sudden water discharge, leading to serious injury or property damage.
