Quick Start Guide

If you are a Windows user, please find the appropriate keycaps in the box, then follow the instructions below to find and replace the following keycaps.

Mac / Windows Layout

Connectivity Options

1. Connect Bluetooth

Switch the toggle to Bluetooth. Press fn1 + Q (for 4 seconds) and pair with device named Keychron K6 Pro.

2. Connect Cable

Switch the toggle to Cable. Connect the USB Type-C cable to the keyboard and your PC.

VIA Key Remapping Software

Please visit caniusevia.com to download the latest VIA software to remap the keys. If the VIA software cannot recognize your keyboard, please reach out to our support to get the instruction. (VIA only works when the keyboard is connected by wire to the computer.)

Keyboard Layers

There are five layers of key settings on the keyboard:

Key Functions

Multimedia and Function Keys

To access Multimedia keys, press fn1 and the corresponding number keys (e.g., 1-9, 0, -, =). To access Function keys, press fn2 and the corresponding number keys (F1-F12).

Backlight Control

Press fn1 + A to change the lighting effect.

Press fn1 + caps lock to turn the backlight on/off.

Backlight and Warranty

Adjust Backlight Brightness

Press fn1 + S to increase the backlight brightness.

Press fn1 + X to decrease the backlight brightness.

Warranty Information

The keyboard is highly customizable and easy to be rebuilt. If any components fail during the warranty period, Keychron will replace the defective parts, not the whole keyboard.

Support and Reset

Building Tutorial

If you are building the keyboard for the first time, Keychron highly recommends watching the building tutorial video on their website first, then starting the assembly.

Factory Reset

Troubleshooting: If you encounter issues with the keyboard:

  1. Try factory reset by pressing fn2 + J + Z (for 4 seconds).
  2. Download the correct firmware for your keyboard from the website. Remove the power cable.
  3. Remove the space bar keycap to find the reset button on the PCB and switch the keyboard to cable mode.
  4. Hold the reset key while plugging in the power cable and then release the reset key. The keyboard will enter DFU mode.
  5. Flash the firmware with the QMK Toolbox.
  6. Factory reset the keyboard again by pressing fn2 + J + Z (for 4 seconds).

Default Key Layouts

Layer 0: Mac System

This layer is activated when your keyboard's system toggle is switched to Mac.

Layer 2: Mac Multimedia Keys

This layer is activated when your keyboard's system toggle is switched to Mac and you press the fn1/MO(2) key.

Layer 3: Windows Multimedia Keys

This layer is activated when your keyboard's system toggle is switched to Windows and you press the fn1/MO(3) key.

Charging Function Description

Plug the USB Type-C cable into the keyboard and a USB port. Charging Indicator: When battery is below 15%, a red blinking indicator will be triggered. A red light will stay on while charging; Fully charged in around 3 hours, a green battery indicator will appear.

*The Keychron keyboard is compatible with all USB ports. Use a 5V 2A adapter or USB 3.0 for best performance. The Keychron K6 Pro can be charged in Bluetooth/on/off mode.

** This product supports up to 5V charging voltage and 2A charging current. Keychron is not responsible for problems caused by improper charging.

Connectivity Modes

Wired Mode

1. Switch the toggle to Cable option (works when a USB cable is plugged in). 2. Connect the USB Type-C cable to your PC and keyboard. 3. Backlit will be turned on. *Under Wired Mode, the keyboard will not enter Battery Saver Mode.

Bluetooth Mode

1. Switch the keyboard to Bluetooth option. 2. Backlit will be turned on. 3. Hold "fn1+Q" key for 4 seconds to activate Bluetooth pairing (the Bluetooth indicator fast flashes for 3 minutes). 4. Search for the Bluetooth device "Keychron K6 Pro" on your device and connect it (the Bluetooth indicator goes off after successful pairing).

Note: This keyboard supports pairing up to 3 devices simultaneously via combination key "fn1" + "Q" / "fn1" + "W" / "fn1" + "E". Simply short press combination keys "fn1" + "W" / "fn1" + "E" to switch. Follow the above procedures to connect with other devices.

*The Bluetooth indicator will continue to flash for 3 minutes.

**Slow or failed connections may exist due to different Bluetooth versions, please make sure all the settings are correct.

Device Management and Settings

Reconnect

1. Switch the keyboard to the Bluetooth option to activate the keyboard (it connects to the last paired device by default). 2. The Bluetooth indicator flashes for 3 seconds and automatically pairs with the last paired device. 3. If the Bluetooth indicator is off, press any button to enter the connection again. * The keyboard must have been paired with the device to perform this function.

Turn off the Keyboard

Switch the toggle to "Off".

Backlit Setting

OS Switch

1 - MAC/iOS

Turn the switch to Mac/iOS when you are connected to a Mac or iOS operating system.

2 - WINDOWS/ANDROID

Switch the toggle to Windows/Android when the keyboard is connected to a Windows or Android operating system. *When using the Windows/Android mode, the [Windows/Command] and [Alt] keys are used for "Windows" and "Alt" functions.

Input Method Switch

For iOS:

Input method switch: Ctrl + Space. Caps Lock: Caps (Enable General > Keyboards > Hardware Keyboard > Caps Lock Language Switch).

For Android:

Input method switch: Shift + Space.

NOTE: Functions of certain multimedia keys may be disabled due to compatibility, versions, brands, and drivers of Windows/Android OS. It is recommended not to switch OS frequently as it may impact keyboard operations.

Troubleshooting

If unable to pair keyboard to device, confirm that the device is Bluetooth-capable. If so, restart the device and try pairing it with the keyboard again.

Note: On a Windows computer, a new Bluetooth connection may require additional software updates. Wait at least 20 minutes after pairing to ensure all updates are completed before restarting the computer.

Confirm that the device is configured to accept Bluetooth connections (Windows) and supports an external keyboard (HID profile).

Go to Bluetooth Devices > Open Settings and select the following:

My keyboard isn't working.

For the keyboard: Turn the keyboard off and back on. For the computer: Turn Bluetooth off and restart. For the device: Go to Bluetooth settings, turn off Bluetooth and "forget" the keyboard. Restart the device and turn on Bluetooth to reconnect.

Bluetooth connection is interrupted even within 10 meters.

Check if the keyboard is resting on a metal surface that can interfere with the Bluetooth signal.

Third party input tools are not compatible with the keyboard.

Due to compatibility, versions, brands, and drivers of Windows/Android OS, functions of third party input tools may be affected. Ensure your operating system and drivers are up to date.

Certain fn keys or multimedia keys do not work under Windows/Android mode.

Keep the product, accessories, and packaging parts out of reach of children to prevent accidents and choking hazards. Always keep the product dry to avoid corrosion. Do not expose the product to extreme temperatures below -10°C (5°F) or above 50°C (131°F) to preserve the lifespan of the keyboard and battery.
