Keyboard Layout Description:

Keyboard Layout Description:
Similar to the fully assembled version, this kit provides the base for a QWERTY mechanical keyboard, ready for user customization with keycaps and switches.
Quick Start Guide
For Windows users: Locate the appropriate keycaps in the box and use the keycap puller to replace the default keycaps on the keyboard.
Mac / Windows Keycap Layout: The keyboard layout diagram shows the standard key positions, with specific keys highlighted for Mac and Windows compatibility.
Connectivity
Connecting via Bluetooth
- Switch the toggle to the Bluetooth mode.
- Press and hold
fn + 1
for 4 seconds to enter pairing mode. The Bluetooth indicator will flash. - On your device, search for "Keychron Q1 Pro" and connect. The indicator will turn off upon successful pairing.
The keyboard supports pairing with up to 3 devices using fn + 1
, fn + 2
, and fn + 3
.
Connecting via Cable
- Switch the toggle to the Cable mode.
- Connect the keyboard to your PC using the provided USB Type-C cable.
- Backlighting will turn on.
In wired mode, the keyboard does not enter battery saver mode.

VIA Key Remapping Software
Download the latest VIA software from caniusevia.com to remap keys. VIA functionality is available when the keyboard is connected via wire.

Keyboard Layers
The keyboard has four layers of key settings:
- Layer 0: Activated when the system toggle is set to Mac.
- Layer 1: Activated when the system toggle is set to Mac and the
fn
/MO(1)
key is pressed. - Layer 2: Activated when the system toggle is set to Windows.
- Layer 3: Activated when the system toggle is set to Windows and the
fn
/MO(3)
key is pressed.
Note for Windows users: When using Windows mode, make changes on Layer 2, not Layer 0, for key mapping to function correctly.

Charging
Plug the USB Type-C cable into the keyboard and a USB port. The charging indicator light is red while charging and turns green when fully charged (approx. 3 hours). The keyboard is compatible with all USB ports; USB 3.0 or a 5V-1A adapter is recommended for best performance. The keyboard can charge in Bluetooth or wired mode. The charging indicator remains lit in wired mode. The product supports up to 5V charging voltage and 1A charging current.
Troubleshooting
Pairing Issues
- Ensure the device supports Bluetooth.
- Restart both the keyboard and the device, then try pairing again.
- On Windows, new Bluetooth connections may require software updates. Wait at least 20 minutes after pairing for updates to complete.
- Confirm device settings allow Bluetooth connections and external keyboards (HID profile).
- Check Bluetooth settings: Allow devices to find/connect to the computer, and alert when a device wants to connect.
Keyboard Not Working
- On your computer/smartphone, go to Bluetooth settings, remove/unpair the keyboard, then restart the device.
- Turn the keyboard off and on again, then reconnect.
Bluetooth Connection Interrupted
- Ensure the keyboard is not placed on a metal surface that could interfere with the signal.
Third-Party Input Tools Incompatibility
Due to OS compatibility, versions, brands, and drivers, third-party input tools may not function correctly. Ensure your operating system and drivers are up to date.
Multimedia/Function Keys Not Working
Some multimedia or function keys may not work due to device compatibility, OS versions, brands, or drivers.

Factory Reset
If the keyboard malfunctions:
- Plug in the power cable and switch the keyboard to Cable mode.
- Press and hold
fn + J + Z
for 4 seconds. - Download the correct firmware and QMK Toolbox from the Keychron website.
- Switch the keyboard to OFF mode, remove the spacebar keycap, and locate the reset button on the PCB.
- Press and hold the reset button, then switch the keyboard to Cable mode. Release the reset button; the keyboard will enter DFU mode.
- Use QMK Toolbox to flash the firmware.
- Perform a factory reset again by pressing and holding
fn + J + Z
for 4 seconds.

Warranty
The Keychron Q1 Pro is highly customizable and easy to assemble. If any component fails during the warranty period, only the defective part will be replaced, not the entire keyboard.
