Keychron Q1 Pro Quick Start Guide
This guide provides essential information for setting up and using your Keychron Q1 Pro wireless custom mechanical keyboard.
Keycap Replacement for Windows Users
If you are a Windows user, please find the appropriate keycaps included in the box. Follow the instructions below to identify and replace the following keycaps.
The keyboard features a standard QWERTY layout with function keys (F1-F12), navigation keys (Esc, Del, PgUp, PgDn, Home), and modifier keys (Ctrl, Option, Alt, Shift, Fn). Specific keycaps, typically for the Windows key and potentially others like Alt/Ctrl, may need to be swapped for Windows compatibility.
Connectivity Options
1. Connect via Bluetooth
Toggle the switch on the keyboard to the Bluetooth position. Press and hold the Fn + 1 keys simultaneously for 4 seconds to enter Bluetooth pairing mode. On your device, search for and connect to the device named "Keychron Q1 Pro".
2. Connect via Cable
Toggle the switch on the keyboard to the Cable position. Connect the keyboard to your computer using the provided USB-C cable.
VIA Key Remapping Software
For advanced customization and key remapping, use the VIA software. Visit caniusevia.com to download the latest version. The VIA software is compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Note: VIA software functions only when the keyboard is connected to your computer via a wire. If the VIA software does not recognize your keyboard, please refer to the support resources or contact Keychron support for instructions. You can find a JSON file for the Q1 Pro if VIA does not automatically recognize the keymap at: Keychron Support Blog.

For Q1 Pro Source Code, please search "source code" on the product page on the official Keychron website.
Keyboard Layers
The Keychron Q1 Pro features four layers of key settings to enhance functionality:
- Layer 0 & 1: Primarily for macOS.
- Layer 2 & 3: Primarily for Windows.
The active layer depends on the system toggle switch:
- When the system toggle is set to Mac, Layer 0 is activated.
- When the system toggle is set to Windows, Layer 2 is activated.
Important: When using the keyboard in Windows mode, ensure you make key remapping adjustments in Layer 2, not Layer 0, to avoid common configuration errors.
Backlight Controls
- Change Lighting Effect: Press Fn + Q.
- Turn Backlight On/Off: Press Fn + Tab.
- Increase Backlight Brightness: Press Fn + W.
- Decrease Backlight Brightness: Press Fn + S.
- Increase Light Effect Speed: Press Fn + T.

Warranty and Support
The Keychron Q1 Pro is designed for customization and ease of rebuilding. During the warranty period, Keychron will replace only the defective keyboard components, not the entire keyboard.
For building tutorials, especially if this is your first time assembling a keyboard, Keychron highly recommends watching the building tutorial video available on their website.
