Assembly Steps

Step 1: Prepare the Mounting Brackets

Identify the two mounting brackets (parts 194892 and 194891). Ensure you have the correct bracket for the side of the roller blind you are attaching it to. The bracket with the release mechanism (194892) is typically for the side where the pull cord is located.

Step 2: Mark and Drill Holes for Brackets

Hold the first bracket against the wall or window frame at the desired height. Use a level to ensure it is straight. Mark the screw hole positions with a pencil. Repeat for the second bracket, ensuring they are level and the correct distance apart to accommodate the roller blind tube. The distance between brackets should be slightly less than the width of the roller blind tube to allow for secure fitting.

Note: Ensure a minimum distance of 5 cm (1 15/16 inches) from the top of the window frame for the top bracket, and a minimum of 5 mm (3/16 inches) from the ceiling if mounting to a ceiling.

Step 3: Attach Brackets to the Wall

Using appropriate screws for your wall type (not included), securely fasten the brackets to the wall or window frame. If unsure, consult a specialist.

Step 4: Prepare the Roller Blind Tube

The roller blind comes with a bottom bar. If the blind needs to be shortened, measure and mark the desired length on the fabric. Use scissors to cut the fabric along the marked line. Ensure the cut is straight.

The bottom bar may need to be adjusted or reinserted after cutting the fabric. Follow the specific instructions for inserting the bottom bar into the shortened fabric.

Step 5: Attach the Roller Blind to the Brackets

Insert the end of the roller blind tube with the fixed mechanism into the corresponding bracket. Push it in until it clicks into place. Then, align the other end of the roller blind tube with the second bracket and push it in until it also clicks securely. Ensure both ends are firmly attached.

Step 6: Secure the Roller Blind

Some roller blind systems have a locking mechanism or a cover to secure the blind within the brackets. Ensure these are engaged correctly. The provided diagrams show how to attach the decorative end caps or covers to the brackets.

Step 7: Adjusting and Finishing

Check that the blind operates smoothly. If the blind needs to be trimmed to size:

The diagrams illustrate cutting the fabric and re-inserting the bottom bar, ensuring a 5 mm (3/16 inch) margin from the edge for the bottom bar.

Step 8: Final Check

Ensure all parts are securely fastened and the blind operates correctly. The diagrams show the correct and incorrect ways to operate the pull cord.

Operation:

Use the pull cord to raise and lower the blind. Avoid twisting or excessively pulling the cord, as indicated by the 'X' marks in the diagrams.

Table for cutting the blind:

Blind Width Max. Bottom Bar Insertion (Z)
555 mm (22") Max 50 mm (2")
600-700 mm (23.5-27.5") Max 100 mm (4")
732-2000 mm (29-78.5") Max 200 mm (8")
