Label Cartridge Installation & Replacement
Please follow the 1 ➡️ 2 ➡️ 3 ➡️ 4 sequences to install or replace the integrated label & ribbon cartridge.
- Open the compartment cover. [Diagram: Printer with compartment cover opening upwards.]
- Remove the cartridge. [Diagram: Printer with label cartridge being pulled out.]
- Place the new one into the compartment and press to the innermost. [Diagram: New label cartridge being inserted into the printer.]
- Close the compartment cover. [Diagram: Printer with compartment cover closing downwards.]
CAUTION: When placing the integrated label & ribbon cartridge, please ensure the label side faces the exit and the label tip is put into the exit.
Printing from PC
- Download "MakeID Label Design" software from website: https://www.makeid.com/support
- Install the software.
- Connect one side of the USB cable to the PC and the other side to the printer.
- Power on the printer.
- Open the software and edit the contents.
- Click the print icon to print.
Printing from Mobile Phone
1. Download APP
Scan the QR code to download APP "MakeID Label Pro". [QR code for app download]
2. Connect with the Printer
- Turn on the Bluetooth on the phone;
- Open the APP;
- Turn on the printer;
- Click the icon on the top right corner, and connect with the printer.
3. Print
- Edit contents
- Click the print icon on the button to print
Printer Operation
1. How to Set the Printer?
Long press the [power-symbol] for 3 seconds to power on the printer with an indication tone. Under normal conditions, the printer screen displays the main page, but if any abnormality occurs, it will be prompted on the screen. The Ready page display is as follows:
Ready Page Display:
- 1. Bluetooth is connected [bluetooth-icon]
- 2. USB is Connected [usb-icon]
- 3. Battery [battery-icon]
- 4. Printer's ready
When the printer is on, long press the [power-symbol] for 3 seconds to power off the printer with an indication tone.
In the Ready page:
- Click on the ▶️, one die-cut label will move forward automatically, or a certain distance for continuous labels;
- Click on the [cut-icon], the printer will cut off the label.
- Long press the [cutter/set-button] for 3 seconds to enter the Set page, and click on the ▶️ button again to switch different setting options. You can set it by clicking on the ▶️. Long press the [cutter/set-button] for 3 seconds during the process to return to the main page.

Setting Content | Clarification |

Printing density | You may adjust the density level to meet your needs. |
Cutter | Cutter operation mode setting. The mode includes Cut by Each Label (cut every one label printing), Cut by Complete Task (cut every printing task), and Cutter Turn off. |
Language | Display language by setting the languages. |
Auto calibration | You can turn on/off Auto calibration. It's every time the cover is put back on, one label will automatically feed to guarantee an accurate printing position. |
Auto power off time | Automatic power off time setting if no further operation on the printer. |
Printer Usage and Malfunctions
2. How to Use the Printer?
During the printing, the screen shows the progress. Click on the ▶️, the printing task pauses and the screen shows pause once the current label printing task finishes, and click on the ▶️ button again to continue the printing. Long press the ❌ to cancel the printing task.

Malfunction Indication
When the printer malfunctions, an abnormal status notice will be prompted on the printer screen and the PC/APP, please refer to the following methods for appropriate troubleshooting. If you still cannot solve the problem, please contact the agent or manufacturer.

Label failed to be identified | Use official label & ribbon or return for repair. |
Cutter stuck | Remove the label that stuck at the cutter, and restart the printer. |
Printhead overheated | Do not print until the printhead cools down. |
Pause | The printer is in pause state, click on the Pause button to restore. |
Low battery | Connect the printer to the adapter to charge. |
Maintenance and Repair
1. Printhead Cleaning
Printhead should be cleaned when any of the following conditions happens:
- Blurry printing;
- Blurry vertical column in printed labels;
- Each time one consumable cartridge used up;
Please follow the steps below to clean the printhead:
- Power off the printer, open the top cover and take out the consumable cartridge;
- Wait till the printhead cools down completely if printings just finished.
- Use soft cotton cloth dipped in anhydrous ethanol (should be wrung out) to wipe off the printhead surface dust, and stains.
- Wait 3-5 minutes until the anhydrous ethanol completely evaporates before installing the label cartridge.
CAUTION:
- Please ensure the printer is powered off when maintenance.
- Do not touch the printhead surface with hands or metal objects, and do not use tools such as tweezers to scratch the printhead, the print roller or the surface of the sensor.
- Organic solvents such as petrol and acetone should not be used.
- Do not power it on to print until the anhydrous ethanol completely evaporates.
2. Long Term Storage
If the printer is not used for a long period of time:
- Make sure the battery is fully charged;
- Take out the carbon ribbon cartridge and store separately from the printer.
- The storage conditions should be temperature -20°C~+60°C, and humidity 5%~93%RH (frost free).

Safety Notice
Please read the following notices with attention before using the printer.
Safety Warning
Warning: The printhead is a heat-generating component. Do not touch the printhead and its surrounding components during and just after printing.
Warning: To avoid damage to the printhead by static electricity, do not touch the printhead surface and connection plugin. [ESD-icon]
Cautions
- Appropriate space around the printer is needed for operation and maintenance.
- Printer should be kept away from water.
- Do not use or store the printer under high/low temperature, high humidity or heavily polluted areas. In addition, printer should be kept away from direct sunlight, bright light, and heat source.
- Printer should not stored in any vibratory or impactive areas.
- Do not use the printer under humid or dewy conditions. If dewing is formed, do not power on the printer before it dries out.
- Connect printer's power adapter to a properly grounded socket. Avoid using the same socket with large motors or other equipment as which may cause fluctuations in power supply voltage.
- Disconnect the printer from the power if it is not to be used for an extended period of time.
- Avoid water or any electrically conductive substances (e.g. metal) from entering the printer. Turn off the power as soon as this occurs.
- Power must be turned off when connecting or disconnecting any port, otherwise damages to the printer control circuitry may occur.
- It is recommended that users set the print density level as low as possible to avoid shortening printhead service life, provided that print results meet the usage requirements.
- Users must not disassemble the printer on their own for overhaul.
- Please keep this manual for future reference.
