1 Your mobile

1.1 Keys and connectors

This section describes the physical components of your mobile device.

Front camera: Located at the front of the device.

Touch screen: The primary interface for interacting with the device.

Headset connector: Port for connecting headphones or headsets.

USB Type-C: Port for charging and data transfer.

SAR Information: This product complies with applicable national SAR limits (1.6 W/kg). Specific maximum SAR values can be found in the “SAR Information” section. When carrying the product or using it worn on the body, maintain a distance of 15 mm from the body to ensure compliance with RF exposure requirements. The product may transmit even when not making a phone call.

1.2 Getting started

This section guides you through the initial setup of your phone.

1.2.1 Set up

Installing or removing the SIM card and microSD™ card

Your phone comes with a SIM card pre-installed. To change or remove it, follow these steps:

  1. Use the provided SIM pin to open the SIM tray.
  2. To install a SIM/microSD™ card, place it with the chip facing down into the SIM card tray and slide it into its slot.
  3. To remove a SIM/microSD™ card, push up on the chip side of the cards inside the SIM tray.

1.2.2 Power your phone on/off

To turn your phone on: Press and hold the Power/Lock button until the screen turns on.

To turn your phone off: Press and hold both the Power/Lock button and the Volume up button simultaneously, then tap 'Power off' on the screen.

1.2.3 Set up your phone for the first time

Upon first power-on, you will be prompted to select your language, Vision settings, network, date, and time zone. You will also log in to your Google Account and set up Google services. Finally, choose a screen lock option (face unlock, PIN, Pattern, or Password). You can skip this step and complete it later.

Important: Store your PIN/password or pattern in a safe place and do not leave it with your phone.

1.3 Home screen

The Home screen is your central hub for frequently used applications, shortcuts, folders, and widgets. Tap the Home key for quick access.

Status bar: Displays status/notification indicators. Swipe down to open the Notification panel.

Icons: Tap an icon to open an application, folder, or widget.

Favorite Applications tray: Tap an application to open it. Touch and hold to move or change applications.

The Home screen is expandable, allowing you to add more items. Slide horizontally to view the complete screen.

1.3 Using the touchscreen

Interact with your phone using various touch gestures:

The status bar provides information about your phone's status and notifications. Key icons include:

Notification icons:

Swipe down the Status bar to access the Quick Settings panel or Notification panel. Swipe up to close them.

1.3.3 Search bar

The phone features a Search function to locate information within applications, the phone, or the web.

1.3.4 Lock/Unlock your screen

Protect your phone and privacy by setting up patterns, PINs, or passwords.

To lock the phone screen

  • The screen automatically locks after a period of inactivity to save power. Configure this in Settings > Display > Screen timeout.
  • Manually lock the screen by pressing the Power key once.

To unlock the phone screen

Press the Power key once to wake the screen, then swipe and unlock using your set method (password, pattern, or face unlock).

  • Enter a password: Swipe up from any position on the screen to reveal the password input panel and enter your lock screen password.
  • Use pattern unlock: Draw the pattern you have set.
  • Use Face unlock: Navigate to Settings > Security & privacy > Device unlock > Face unlock. Ensure your face is within the on-screen square, ideally in good lighting. A pattern/PIN/password must be set first.

Customize your Home screen by adding, repositioning, or removing items.

2 Text input

2.1 Using the Onscreen Keyboard

Onscreen keyboard settings: Swipe up on the Home screen, select Settings > System > Languages > System languages to access keyboard settings.

2.1.1 Gboard

The onscreen keyboard allows text input, voice input, and access to GIFs, files, locations, and contacts.

  • Touch to enter voice input.
  • Touch to choose GIFs, Files, Location or Contacts.
  • Touch to take a photo/video or attach a photo/video.
  • Switch input modes: Touch to switch between 'abc/Abc' mode. Touch and hold to switch to 'ABC' mode.

2.2 Text editing

Edit entered text by touching and holding or double-tapping it. Options like Cut, Copy, and Share will appear.

To insert new text, touch where you want to type, or touch and hold a blank area. A cursor will appear, and a tab will allow you to move the cursor. If text is selected, a tab will offer 'Paste' and 'Select all' options.

3 Phone call, Call log and Contacts

3.1 Phone

3.1.1 Placing a call

Make calls using the Phone application. Tap 'Phone' from the Home screen.

Enter a number directly or select a contact from Favorites, Contacts, or Recents, then tap the call icon.

You can save entered numbers to Contacts by tapping '+ Create new contact'.

To correct mistakes, touch the backspace icon.

To hang up a call, touch the end call icon.

Accessing voicemail: Touch and hold '1' on the dial pad.

3.1.2 Answering or rejecting a call

When a call comes in:

  • Swipe up to answer.
  • Swipe down to reject.
  • Touch 'Reply' to reject with a preset message.

To mute the ringtone of an incoming call, press the Volume up/down key.

3.1.3 Calling your voicemail

Your voicemail service allows you to check messages at any time. Access it by touching and holding '1' on the dial pad.

3.1.4 During a call

Adjust volume using the Volume up/down keys.

  • End the current call: Tap the end call icon.
  • Mute: Tap the mute icon to mute/unmute the current call.
  • Display dial pad: Tap the dial pad icon.
  • Speakerphone: Tap the speaker icon to activate/deactivate speakerphone.
  • Make another call: Tap the add call icon.
  • Put a call on hold: Tap the hold icon.
  • Merge calls: Tap the merge icon to start a conference call.
  • Swap calls: Tap the swap icon to switch between calls.

The screen locks automatically when the phone is near your ear during a call and unlocks when moved away to prevent accidental touches.

3.1.5 Managing multiple calls

Swap calls: When you have two calls, tap the swap icon to switch between them. The current call is put on hold.

Conference calls: To set up a conference call, place the first call, then tap to add another. Enter the number or select from Call logs/Contacts, then tap to add. Tap to start the conference, or tap to end all calls.

3.1.6 Call settings

Access Call settings via the Phone screen: Menu icon > Settings. Options include:

  • Caller ID & spam: Enable caller ID and spam identification.
  • Accessibility: Enable Real-time text (RRT) calls or Vibrate Reminder for outgoing call connections.
  • Assisted dialing: Enables assisted dialing, which predicts and adds country codes.
  • Blocked numbers: Block unwanted callers.
  • Calls: Configure call barring, call forwarding, and other voice call settings.
  • Display options: Sort contacts by name, set name format, and choose themes.
  • Nearby places: Find nearby places using your location.
  • Quick responses: Edit predefined messages for call rejection.
  • Sounds and vibration: Adjust ringtones, notifications, and other audio settings.
  • Voicemail: Access voicemail service and number settings.

3.1.7 Call log

Access your call log by touching the call log icon from the Phone screen to view missed, outgoing, and incoming calls. Tap a call for details or to initiate actions like calling or messaging. Touch and hold a contact to delete its call history.

3.2 Contacts

Contacts provides quick access to people you want to reach. View and create contacts easily.

3.2.1 Consult your Contacts

Access Contacts by swiping up on the Home screen and selecting 'Contacts'.

  • Touch to search contacts.
  • Touch to open menu options.
  • Touch to access account information.
  • Touch to view contact's detailed information.
  • Touch to add a new contact.

3.2.2 Adding a contact

Tap '+' to create a new contact. Enter name and contact information. Scroll to navigate fields.

  • Touch to save.
  • Touch to select a picture for the contact.
  • Touch to expand the label.

Add/remove from Favorites: Touch a contact to view details, then tap the star icon to add to favorites. Tap the star icon again to remove.

3.2.3 Editing your contacts

Touch the edit icon to modify contact information, then tap 'Save'.

Change a contact's default phone number: Touch and hold the desired number in the contact's details screen and select 'Set default'.

Set ringtone for a contact: On the contact's detail screen, tap the ringtone icon.

Delete a contact: Touch and hold the contact, then tap the delete icon. Deleted contacts are removed from other synced applications.

3.2.4 Communicating with your contacts

From the contact list, you can make calls or send messages. Tap a contact to open Quick Contact for Android, then tap the number to call or the message icon to text.

3.2.5 Contacts importing, exporting, and sharing

From the Contacts screen, tap 'Fix & manage' to import from file, export to file, or access settings. Share contacts via vCard using Bluetooth, Gmail, etc., by touching and holding the contact(s) and tapping the share icon.

4 Messages

Create, edit, and receive SMS and MMS messages.

Access the Messages application by tapping 'Messages' from the Home screen.

4.1 Writing a new message

On the message list screen, tap the new message icon to start writing text or multimedia messages.

  • Touch to search in all messages.
  • Touch for more options.
  • Touch to view the whole message thread.
  • Touch and hold to activate delete mode.
  • Touch to create a new message.

Sending a text message: Enter the recipient's number in the 'To' bar or select a contact. Type your message in the text bar and tap the send icon.

Sending a multimedia message: MMS allows sending video clips, images, photos, animations, slides, and sounds. An SMS converts to MMS automatically when media files or email addresses are attached.

4.2 Manage messages

When a new message arrives, an icon appears in the status bar. Swipe down to open the Notification panel and tap the message to read it. You can also access the Messaging app.

Messages are displayed conversationally. To reply, tap the message, enter text, and tap send.

Long-press an SMS on the list screen for options like Pin, Archive, Delete, or to block calls/texts from the contact.

5 Camera

Your phone is equipped with a camera for photos and videos. Remove the protective lens cover before use.

Access the camera by tapping 'Camera' from the Home screen.

To take a picture

Position the object in the viewfinder and tap the shutter button. Touch and hold for burst shots.

To take a video

Switch to VIDEO mode, then tap the record icon to start recording. Tap the pause icon to pause and the stop icon to stop recording. Tap the camera icon during recording to take a picture.

Further operations when viewing a picture/video

  • Slide left or right to view photos/videos.
  • Tap the share icon to share via Gmail, Bluetooth, Messages, etc.
  • Tap the back button to return to the Camera app.

Modes

Slide left or right to switch between modes:

  • AUTO: Default camera mode.
  • VIDEO: Accesses video recording mode.
  • PORTRAIT: Creates a depth-of-field effect, highlighting the subject with a blurred background.
  • PANO: Captures panoramic photos by moving the phone steadily.
  • SUPER MACRO: For close-up shots (best at 4cm distance).

Settings

Tap to access camera settings:

  • AI scene detection: Automatically applies presets based on scene content.
  • Watermark: Toggle watermark on/off.
  • Photo size: Select photo dimensions.
  • Auto HDR: Enhances gradation in photos by capturing multiple exposures.
  • Quick snap: Take a photo by double-pressing the volume down key when the screen is off.
  • Video quality: Select video resolution.
  • Microphone: Toggle microphone on/off during video recording.
  • Touch to shoot: Take a photo by tapping the preview area.
  • Mirror camera: Save selfies without flipping them.
  • Gesture to capture: Use a 'palm' gesture to take photos/videos.
  • Gridlines: Display gridlines for composition.
  • Camera leveler: Aids in composing balanced shots.
  • Volume button function: Customize volume buttons for shutter, zoom, or volume.
  • Storage: Choose between phone and microSD™ card storage.
  • Save location information: Tag photos/videos with location data (requires GPS and network permission).
  • Shutter sound: Enable/disable shutter sound.
  • Reset settings: Restore camera to factory defaults.

6 Gmail

Gmail is Google's web-based email service, synchronized with your Google account. Emails are organized by conversation and labels.

To access Gmail

Swipe up on the Home screen and tap 'Gmail'.

To create and send emails

  • Tap the 'Compose' icon.
  • Enter recipient(s) in the 'To' field, and optionally 'Cc' or 'Bcc'.
  • Enter the subject and message content.
  • Tap to add an attachment.
  • Tap to send.

Use 'Save draft' to save an email without sending. Tap 'Discard' to cancel.

Add a signature via Settings > Mobile signature.

To receive and read your emails

New emails trigger a notification. Swipe down the status bar to open the Notification panel and tap the email to view it. You can also access the Inbox label or 'All mail'.

Search emails by sender, subject, or label via the search bar.

To reply or forward emails

  • Reply: Tap the reply icon within an email.
  • Reply all: Send to all recipients in the email thread.
  • Forward: Send the email to another person.
  • Add star: Mark emails as important.
  • Print: Save the email as a PDF.

Managing Emails with Labels

Organize conversations using labels. Touch a label to view conversations with that label.

Touch and hold an email for batch actions: Archive, Delete, Mark as read/unread.

Additional options include 'Move to', 'Snooze', and 'Change labels'.

Gmail settings

Access settings via the inbox screen: Menu icon > Settings.

  • General settings: Theme, default notification actions, manage notifications, conversation view, list density, hide bottom navigation, swipe actions.
  • Default reply action: Set default reply behavior.
  • Auto-fit messages: Shrink messages to fit the screen.
  • Auto-advance: Select screen after deleting/archiving.
  • Open web links in Gmail: Open links within the Gmail app.
  • Confirm before deleting/archiving/sending: Enable confirmation prompts.

Account settings: Manage your Google Account, Inbox type (Primary, Promotions, Social), Notifications, Inbox notifications, and Labels.

7 Calendar & Alarm clock

7.1 Calendar

Use Calendar to track meetings and appointments. Access it via Google > Calendar.

7.1.1 Multimode view

Display the Calendar in daily, weekly, monthly, or agenda view. Change views via the drop-down menu. Return to Today's view by tapping the 'Today' icon.

Tap an event to view details. Tap a day in Month view to see its events.

7.1.2 To create new events

Tap '+' to access the new event screen. Fill in required information. Toggle 'All-day' if applicable. Tap 'Save'.

Quickly create events from Day/Week view by tapping an empty spot or existing event.

7.1.3 Event reminder

An upcoming event icon appears in the status bar when a reminder is set. Swipe down the status bar to view the notification panel and tap the event name.

7.2 Clock

Your phone has a built-in clock. Access it by swiping up on the Home screen and tapping 'Clock'.

7.2.1 Alarm

From the Clock screen, tap 'Alarm'. Turn on alarms, add new alarms (tap '+', then 'OK' to save), edit existing alarms, or delete alarms.

7.2.2 Clock

View date and time. Tap '+' to add a city to the clock list.

7.2.3 Timer

From the Clock screen, tap 'Timer' to set and manage timers.

7.2.4 Stopwatch

From the Clock screen, tap 'Stopwatch' to start, pause, or reset the stopwatch.

7.2.5 Bedtime

Set a consistent bedtime for improved sleep.

7.2.6 Adjust Clock settings

Tap to access Clock settings.

8 Getting connected

Connect to the internet using 4G or Wi-Fi.

8.1 Connecting to the Internet

8.1.1 4G

Your phone automatically configures network service (4G) upon first use with a signal.

Data roaming: Activate/deactivate data roaming in Settings > Mobile network. When disabled, Wi-Fi can still be used for data exchange.

8.1.2 Wi-Fi

Connect to Wi-Fi networks within range. Wi-Fi can be used without a SIM card.

To turn on Wi-Fi: Swipe up on the Home screen, tap Settings > Wi-Fi. Toggle the switch.

Detected networks are listed. Tap a network to connect. Enter the password if required and tap 'CONNECT'.

Activate notification for new networks: Settings > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi preferences.

Add a Wi-Fi network: Settings > Wi-Fi > Add network. Enter network name and information, then tap 'CONNECT'.

Forget a Wi-Fi network: On the Wi-Fi screen, tap the saved network name and then 'Forget'.

8.2 Connecting to Bluetooth devices

Bluetooth enables short-range wireless communication. Access it via Settings > Bluetooth > Pair new device.

To turn on Bluetooth: Settings > Bluetooth. Toggle the switch.

Change phone name: Settings > Bluetooth > Device name. Enter a new name and confirm.

Show received files: Settings > Bluetooth > Received files.

Pair/connect with a Bluetooth device: Turn on Bluetooth, go to Settings > Bluetooth > + Pair new device. Select the device from the list and tap 'PAIR'.

Disconnect/unpair: Tap the device name, then 'FORGET DEVICE'.

8.3 Connecting to a computer

Transfer files between your phone and computer using a USB cable.

To connect: Use the USB cable to connect the phone to a computer's USB port. Open the Notification panel to choose file transfer mode (default is 'Charge this device').

To disconnect: Unplug the USB cable.

Ensure the appropriate driver (e.g., Windows Media Player 11+) is installed for MTP transfer.

Access downloaded files via the 'Files' application.

8.4 Sharing your phone's mobile data connection

Share your mobile data via USB tethering or as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot.

  • Via USB: Settings > Connections > Hotspot & tethering > USB tethering.
  • As Wi-Fi hotspot: Settings > Connections > Hotspot & tethering > Mobile hotspot.
  • Via Bluetooth: Settings > Connections > Hotspot & tethering > Bluetooth tethering.

Rename or secure portable hotspot: Settings > Connections > Hotspot & tethering > Mobile hotspot.

8.5 Connecting to virtual private networks

VPNs allow secure access to local network resources remotely.

To add a VPN: Swipe up, Settings > Connections > VPN, then tap '+'. Follow administrator instructions and tap 'SAVE'.

To connect/disconnect to a VPN: Swipe up, Settings > Connections > VPN. Tap the VPN to connect, entering credentials if prompted. Tap 'DISCONNECT' to disconnect.

To edit/delete a VPN: Settings > Connections > VPN. Tap next to the VPN to edit or delete.

9 Google applications

Pre-installed Google apps enhance productivity and life. Registering with a Google Account unlocks full functionality.

10 Settings

Access Settings by swiping up from the Home screen or from the notification panel.

10.1 Wi-Fi

Connect to wireless networks. Refer to section '8.1.2 Wi-Fi' for detailed instructions.

10.2 Bluetooth

Connect to Bluetooth devices. Refer to section '8.2 Connecting to Bluetooth devices' for details.

10.3 Mobile network

  • Data roaming: Enable/disable data roaming to avoid charges.
  • VoLTE: Use LTE services for enhanced voice and communication.
  • Access Point Names: Select preferred network settings.

10.4 Connections

  • Airplane mode: Disables all wireless connections.
  • Hotspot & tethering: Share your phone's data connection.
  • Data usage: Monitor and set cellular data limits.
  • VPN: Connect to virtual private networks.
  • Private DNS: Select Private DNS mode.
  • Cast: Display your device's screen on a TV.
  • USB: Charge device, transfer files via USB.
  • Printing: Activate print services.
  • Chromebook: Link phone to Chromebook for texting and internet sharing.
  • Nearby Share: Detect nearby devices via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
  • Android Auto: Use apps on your car screen.

10.5 Home screen & lock screen

Customize wallpapers and lock screen style.

10.6 Display

Adjust Dark theme, Eye comfort mode, display size, text, status bar, and notch settings. Enable 'Auto-rotate screen' to rotate content.

10.7 NXTVISION

  • Image enhancement: Improve contrast, sharpness, and dark details.
  • Video enhancement: Enhance color, contrast, and depth for a cinematic visual experience.
  • Game enhancement: Improve shadow detail and graphics for gaming.
  • Reading mode: Optimize screen for comfortable reading.
  • Eye comfort mode: Filter blue light to reduce eye strain.
  • Color mode & temperature: Adjust display gamut (Vivid, Nature, etc.).

10.8 Sound & vibration

Adjust ringtones, notifications, music, and other audio settings.

10.9 Notifications

Manage app notifications, permissions, and lock screen display.

10.10 Buttons & Gestures

Configure buttons and gestures for convenient use (navigation, screenshots, etc.).

10.11 Advanced features

Set preferences for Screen Recorder.

10.12 Location

Manage app access to device location.

10.13 Security & privacy

  • App security: Play Protect scans apps for security risks.
  • Device unlock: Set up Screen lock (Swipe, Pattern, PIN, Password).

10.14 Safety & emergency

Configure medical information and emergency contacts in 'Personal Safety' for emergency responders. Set up Emergency SOS, Crisis alerts, etc.

10.15 Apps

View app details, manage data usage, or force stop apps.

10.16 Storage

Check storage usage and free up space.

10.17 Accounts

Add, remove, and manage accounts. Control app synchronization and user data.

10.18 Digital Wellbeing & parental controls

Monitor phone usage time and set limits for healthy usage. Parents can restrict children's usage.

10.19 Google

Configure your Google Account and services.

10.20 Smart Manager

Optimizes phone performance, battery, storage, and security. Restricts auto-start apps.

10.21 Accessibility

Configure accessibility plug-ins.

10.22 System

  • About phone: View phone information (model, CPU, camera, etc.), legal info, build number.
  • System Update: Check for and install system updates.
  • Update apps: Check for and install app updates.
  • Languages: Configure language, voice input, etc.
  • Date & time: Customize date and time display.
  • Backup: Back up settings and data to Google servers.
  • Reset options: Reset network settings, app preferences, or perform a factory reset (erases all data).
  • Multiple users: Add users for personalized spaces.
  • Regulatory & safety: View product information (model, manufacturer, IMEI, etc.).

11 FOTA Upgrade

Update your phone's software using the FOTA Upgrade tool.

Access System update via Settings > System > System Update. Tap 'CHECK FOR UPDATES'. The phone will search for the latest software, which downloads automatically over a wireless network. Tap 'Restart' to complete the upgrade.

Ensure a data connection or Wi-Fi is active before searching for updates.

Electrical safety

Use only the designated power supply unit. Travel charger: Input: 100-240V, 50/60Hz, 0.5A; Output: 5V 2A 10W.

Take extra precautions: Do not open the back cover, eject the battery, puncture the phone, or dispose of it in fire. Avoid extreme temperatures (above 60°C/140°F).

Using the phone on an airplane is prohibited by law in most countries due to potential interference. Switch to Airplane Mode when on board.

Environment restrictions

Do not use the product in potentially explosive atmospheres, such as gas stations or chemical plants, where sparks could cause an explosion or fire.

Explosive atmospheres

Turn off the product in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres and obey all safety signs and instructions.

Road safety

Give full attention to driving. Using a phone while driving can cause distraction and accidents. Comply with local laws regarding wireless device use while driving.

Safety precautions for RF exposure

  • Avoid using the phone near metal structures or strong electromagnetic sources.
  • Use only original manufacturer-approved accessories.
  • Non-approved accessories may violate RF exposure guidelines.

Interference with medical equipment functions

This product may cause medical equipment to malfunction. Turn off the phone in hospitals and medical clinics. Consult your device manufacturer or physician if you use other personal medical devices.

Nonionizing radiation

Operate the device in its normal position to ensure optimal performance and safety. Avoid prolonged contact between the antenna and your body. Use only the supplied antenna.
