INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PARTS / TOOLS NEEDED:

Safety Instructions
- ✔️ Disconnect power before installing, adding, or changing any component.
- ✔️ To avoid a hazard to children, account for all parts and destroy all packing materials.
- ✔️ Do not install any luminaire assembly closer than 6" from any combustible materials.
Installation Considerations For All Flexible Lighting Products
- Do not bend lighting more than necessary. Refer to page two for bend radius minimums.
- Only bend the LED ribbon in one natural direction; do not try to bend in an unnatural direction such as twisting.
Installation Considerations For HMTL Flexible Lighting
- Unroll the entire length of HMTL before installing.
- Start installation at the wire lead end.
- When installing the light on the mounting surface, make sure to push towards the wired end.
- Do not use any roller as that may cause damage to the LED circuit.
- Each RGBW flex light length will include a driver that prevents the RGB LED and white LED from turning on at the same time. Care should be taken during installation to accommodate the size of the driver box (see dimensional drawing below).
1. Determine Installation Location
Determine installation location and drill a hole in the mounting surface. Make sure to accommodate the driver box if using RGBW flex light.
A dimensional drawing shows the driver box, which is approximately 1 inch by 2 inches, and a 1-inch diameter hole is required for installation, particularly for RGBW models.
2. Secure Mounting Clips
Secure clips to mounting surface using #6 pan head screws (not provided).
Clip spacing is dependent on application; when going around curves, clip spacing should be closer.
3. Feed Wires and Seal
Feed the wires into the hole and apply application-specific sealant* around the hole and wires.
An image shows wires being fed through a hole, with an arrow pointing to where sealant should be applied, labeled '*Sealant here'.
4. Secure Light in Track
Secure the light in the track by gently pushing into clips.
Note: HMTL flexible lighting cannot be field cut. Field cutting the light will void the warranty.
5. Wire the Light
Follow the wiring diagram below to wire the light to your system.
Wiring diagram illustrating the connection of the HMTL Flex Light to a constant voltage power supply (13.6V DC or 24V DC). The flex light's red wire connects to the positive terminal, and the black wire connects to the negative terminal of the power supply. The power supply itself connects to a 110V-277V power source.
Wiring diagram for RGBW models, showing connection to an RGBW Controller (sold separately). The flex light has multiple wires: Red (+) and Black (-) for power, and Red (-), Green (-), Blue (-), and White (-)* for RGBW control. A note clarifies that RGB lights will not have a white wire.
CAUTION
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
ALWAYS INSTALL WIRE END FIRST!
MINIMUM BEND RADIUS
Illustration of a lateral bend for the flex light, indicating a minimum bend radius of R0.562 inches.
Illustration of a top-to-bottom bend for the flex light, indicating a minimum bend radius of R20.0 inches.
Do not twist tapelight.
