KMC BACnet VAV Controller-Actuators (B-BC)

The KMC Conquest ${ }^{\text {TM }}$ BAC-9000A series controller-actuators are designed to operate Variable Air Volume (VAV) terminal units. These BACnet Building Controllers function as powerful edge devices for modern smart building ecosystems, featuring integrated alarming, scheduling, and trending.

With integrated actuators, internal air pressure sensors, and other advanced features, they are ideal for new installations and upgrades. They mount easily to terminal boxes using a "V" clamp on the shaft and a single-screw anti-rotation bracket.

Factory-supplied programming covers common VAV applications. Setup can be done using an STE-9000 series digital sensor, which can serve as a permanent room sensor or a temporary technician's tool. Configuration can also be performed via NFC (Near Field Communication) using a smartphone, tablet, or computer with the KMC Connect Lite ${ }^{\text {TM }}$ app, even when the controller is unpowered. For custom requirements, these controllers are fully programmable using KMC Connect ${ }^{\text {TM }}$ software and the KMC Converge ${ }^{\text {TM }}$ module for Niagara Workbench.

KMC Converge and TotalControl ${ }^{\text {TM }}$ software allow for the creation of custom graphical web pages, hosted on a remote web server, for a customized user interface.

Models and Applications

The following models are available:

For installations with a BACnet building automation system, these controllers signal demands for higher static duct pressure, cooler or warmer supply air, and other diagnostics for AHU optimization.

Sample Installation Diagram

The diagram illustrates the KMC BAC-9001A controller-actuator connected to a VAV box, with optional air pressure sensor tubing. It shows connections for up to 4 sensors to terminal blocks and up to 7 external outputs to terminal blocks. A STE-9xx1 NetSensor connects to a modular connector. The system also shows configuration via an NFC-enabled smartphone and quick network access through a computer data port. A TSP-8003 actuator on a Dual Duct VAV Box is controlled by the BAC-9001's outputs. Communication with other network devices and remote monitoring is also depicted.
