FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
- Why have I lost some / all of my channels?
This can happen with a weak signal. Rescan your digital box or TV. If problems persist, get your aerial checked. Contact your retailer or a local aerial installer.
- Why do I get 'blocking' on my digital picture?
Blocking is usually caused by a weak signal or interference. It can also be caused by a signal that is too strong. Consult your retailer or a local aerial installer.
- Can I watch Freeview using a portable set-top aerial?
Some homes may receive Freeview with a set-top aerial, but a rooftop aerial is recommended for better reception. If a rooftop aerial is not accessible (e.g., rental property) or for a secondary TV, a set-top aerial might be the only option.
- What type of aerial do I need?
A wideband rooftop aerial is recommended over a loft aerial, as loft aerials can receive weaker signals and more interference. Consider an aerial survey before upgrading. Consult your retailer or a local aerial installer.

Safety Warnings
Read all instructions carefully before use and keep for future reference. Retain the manual if passing the unit to a third party. Check the voltage rating matches your mains voltage.
Damage:
Inspect the unit for damage after unpacking. Do not operate if damaged or if in doubt; switch off, unplug, and consult your dealer.
Location of Unit:
- Place on a flat, stable surface away from vibrations.
- Avoid sloped or unstable surfaces.
- Ensure the mains socket is near and accessible.
- This unit is designed for indoor use only.
Temperature:
Avoid extreme temperatures. Keep away from heat sources like radiators or fires. Avoid direct sunlight.
Naked Flames:
Never place candles or naked flames on or near the unit.
Moisture:
Do not expose to rain, moisture, dripping, or splashing. Do not place liquid-filled objects on the unit. Spilling liquid can cause serious damage; switch off immediately, unplug, and consult your dealer.
Ventilation:
Ensure ventilation vents are not obstructed by curtains or other materials to prevent electric shock or fire hazards due to overheating. Do not install in confined spaces like bookcases. Ensure at least 10 cm gap on sides and 20 cm gap on top.
Safety:
- Always disconnect the unit from the mains supply before connecting/disconnecting other devices or moving it.
- Unplug during lightning storms.
Mains Cable:
- Ensure the unit or stand does not rest on the mains cable, which could damage it and create a hazard.
- If the mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or qualified personnel.
Interference:
Do not place the unit near appliances that may cause electromagnetic interference, as this can affect performance and cause distorted picture or sound.
Optimum Viewing:
View in moderate light to prevent eye strain. Recommended viewing distance is 3-7 times the screen height.
LED Screen:
The LED screen uses high-precision technology. Tiny black points or bright points (red, blue, green) may appear; these are normal manufacturing artifacts.
Screen Burn:
Displaying the same image for extended periods can cause permanent after-images (screen burn). Avoid static images like black bars, channel logos, time displays, teletext, menus, or pause mode for long durations. To prevent burn-in, reduce contrast and brightness when viewing such content for extended periods. Burn-in is irreversible.
Headphones:
- Listening to loud sounds for prolonged periods can cause permanent hearing damage.
- Turn volume down before wearing headphones, then slowly increase to a comfortable level.
Standby:
The standby button does not completely switch off the unit; it still draws electricity. For safety and to save energy, switch off and disconnect the mains plug when unattended for long periods (e.g., overnight, holidays).
Batteries:
- Batteries can be swallowed by children, posing a danger.
- Keep loose batteries away from children and ensure the battery holder is secure. Seek medical advice if a cell is swallowed.
- Dispose of batteries correctly.
Supervision:
Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the unit or remote. Never let children push objects into openings, as this could cause electric shock.
Service:
Do not remove screws or open covers, as this may expose dangerous voltages. All maintenance should be performed by qualified personnel.
Maintenance:
Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning. Do not use abrasive pads or cleaning solutions. Do not use liquids to clean the unit.
Important Note:
The TV features ECO friendly power saving. If the remote control is not used for 4 hours, Auto Standby will activate, powering down the TV. A warning message will be displayed. Packaging materials are not toys; keep away from children.
Safety Symbols:
- Lightning flash with arrowhead symbol: Alerts the user to the presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within the unit, posing a risk of electric shock.
- Exclamation point: Alerts the user to important operating and maintenance instructions in the manual.
