FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Why have I lost some / all of my channels?

  • This can occur with a weak signal. Rescan your digital box or TV. If problems persist, get your aerial checked or contact a local aerial installer.

Why do I get 'blocking' on my digital picture?

  • Blocking is usually caused by a weak signal or interference. Contact your retailer or local aerial installer.
  • A signal that is too strong can also cause blocking. Consult your local aerial installer for advice.

Can I watch Freeview using a portable set-top aerial?

  • Some homes may receive Freeview with a set-top aerial, but a rooftop aerial is recommended for better reception. If you rent or prefer not to use extension cables, a set-top aerial might be your only option.

What type of aerial do I need?

  • A wideband rooftop aerial is recommended over a loft aerial, as loft aerials generally receive weaker signals and are more susceptible to interference. Consider having an aerial survey before upgrading. Consult your retailer or local aerial installer.

  • Read all instructions carefully before use and keep them for future reference. Retain the manual; include it if passing the unit to a third party.
  • Check that the voltage marked on the rating label matches your mains voltage.

Damage

  • Inspect the unit for damage after unpacking. Do not operate if in doubt about its working condition or if damaged; switch off, unplug, and consult your dealer.

Location of Unit

  • Place the unit on a flat, stable surface, away from vibrations.
  • Do not place on sloped or unstable surfaces to prevent tipping.
  • Ensure the mains socket is near and easily accessible.
  • This unit is designed for indoor use only.

Temperature

  • Avoid extreme temperatures. Place the unit away from heat sources like radiators or fires.
  • Avoid direct sunlight and other heat sources.

Naked Flames

  • Never place candles or naked flames on or near the unit.

Moisture

  • To reduce fire, electric shock, or product damage risk, do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, dripping, or splashing. Do not place liquid-filled objects on the unit.
  • If liquid spills into the unit, switch it off at the mains immediately, unplug it, and consult your dealer.

Ventilation

  • Ensure ventilation vents are not obstructed by curtains or other materials to prevent electric shock or fire hazards due to overheating.

  • Maintain at least a 10 cm gap on the sides and a 20 cm gap at the top.

Safety Precautions

  • Always disconnect the unit from the mains supply before connecting/disconnecting devices or moving it.

  • If the mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or similarly qualified personnel to avoid hazards.

Interference

  • Do not place the unit near appliances that may cause electromagnetic interference, as this can adversely affect performance and cause distorted picture or sound.

Optimum Viewing

  • View the unit in moderate light to prevent eye strain. Recommended viewing distance is 3-7 times the screen height.

LED Screen

The LED screen uses high-precision technology. Tiny black points or bright points (red, blue, green) may appear; these are normal and generated during the manufacturing process.

Screen Burn

Displaying the same image for extended periods can cause a permanent after-image (screen burn). Avoid static images like channel logos, time displays, or teletext pages for long durations. To prevent screen burn, reduce contrast and brightness when viewing such content. Burn-in is irreversible.

  • Examples to watch out for: Black bars, stationary bright channel logos, time displays, teletext, TV menus, paused images.

Headphones

  • Listening to loud sounds for prolonged periods can permanently damage hearing.
  • Before using headphones, turn the volume down, then put them on and slowly increase the volume to a comfortable level.

Standby

  • The standby button does not completely switch off the unit; it continues to draw electricity. For safety and energy saving, switch off and disconnect the mains plug when unattended for long periods (e.g., overnight, holidays).

Batteries

  • Remote control batteries can be easily swallowed by children, posing a danger. Keep batteries away from children and ensure the battery holder is secure. Seek medical advice if a battery is swallowed.
  • Dispose of batteries correctly according to manual guidance.

Supervision

  • Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the unit or remote control.
  • Never let anyone, especially children, insert objects into openings, as this could cause a fatal electric shock.

Caution Symbols:

  • The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol indicates the presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within the unit's enclosure, posing a risk of electric shock.
  • The exclamation point symbol alerts the user to important operating and maintenance instructions in the manual.

Important Note

This TV features ECO-friendly power saving. If the remote control is unused for 4 hours, Auto Standby will activate, powering down the TV. A warning message will be displayed.

Packaging materials are not toys. Keep away from children; plastic bags can cause suffocation.
