PRUNUS J-110 Radio/Bluetooth Speaker/MP3 Player User Manual

Thank you for purchasing the PRUNUS J-110 radio/Bluetooth speaker/mp3 player. In order to get the best from the radio, please read this manual carefully before using it and take special notice of the section on maintenance.

Maintenance

  • Do not let the radio get wet and do not use it in a moist environment – keep it out of the rain and use carefully in bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Do not place potentially damaging objects such as liquid-filled containers or lighted candles on top of the radio. Keep the radio, and the battery pack, away from sources of heat such as radiators, hot water pipes or fires. Do not leave it in full sunlight.
  • Make sure that solvents, such as white spirit, paraffin or petrol, are not spilt onto the radio.
  • Keep it away from magnets and magnetic fields.
  • Position the radio so that air can circulate around it – leave a space of 5 to 10 cm in front of and behind the radio.
  • Do not cover the radio with cloth or paper and avoid placing it on a bed where it might be covered by a blanket or duvet.
  • The radio is a sophisticated electronic device – do not attempt to disassemble it or repair it and take care not to drop it.

Functional Components

The device features a speaker grille at the top. Below it, from left to right, are the Mode Switch (1), Forward button (2), Previous button (3), Play/Pause Button (4), Flash Drive Slot (5), TF Card Slot (6), AUX in Jack (7), Charging Indication (8), and DC5V Power Slot (9). On the right side is the Volume/Power Knob (10). The Band Switch (12) and Tuning Knob (13) are located below the speaker. Further down are the AC in Jack (14), Battery Bin (15), and Telescopic Aerial (16). The IR receiver (17) is also indicated.

Power Supply

1. AC Power Supply

Use at home, office, workshop, or anytime mains power is available. Connect the included AC power cord to the <14. AC in Jack> and plug the other end into a 110-220V socket.

2. Type D (UM-1) Batteries * 2

Ideal for outings, picnics, or long trips where mains power is unavailable. Installation: 1) Open the battery compartment cover. 2) Install two Type D batteries following the electrode marks. 3) Replace the battery compartment cover. Notes: Do not mix new and old batteries, different types or brands, different power capacities, or alkaline and rechargeable batteries.

3. Built-in Rechargeable Battery

Suitable for short movable use in gardens or parks. Charging method: Connect the large end to a computer's USB jack or a USB power adapter, and the small end to the <9. DC5V Power Slot>. The <8. Charging Indication> light will illuminate during charging (3-5 hours) and turn off when fully charged. Please use a standard DC5V/500-1000mAh charger. Avoid continuous charging for over 24 hours to prolong battery life.

Radio Reception

  1. Turn the <12. Band Switch> to FM, AM, or SW.
  2. Turn the <10. Volume/Power Knob> to power on.
  3. Rotate the <13. Tuning Knob> to select a station.
  4. Adjust volume using the <10. Volume/Power Knob>.
  5. For FM/SW, extend the <16. Telescopic Aerial> and adjust for best reception. For AM, rotate the radio for best reception.
  6. For optimal indoor reception, place the radio near a window and away from electronic devices like computers, TVs, refrigerators, and mobile phones.

Music Playing

1. Play by Bluetooth

  1. Set the <12. Band Switch> to 'MP3' mode. A 'Bluetooth Mount' sound indicates readiness.
  2. On your device (mobile phone, iPod, computer), enable Bluetooth, search for 'BT-888', and connect. A 'Dingdong' sound confirms connection.
  3. Open your music player app and select music.
  4. Use <2. Forward> / <3. Previous> buttons to select songs.
  5. Use <4. Play/Pause/Mode button> to pause or resume playback.

2. Play by Flash Drive / TF Card

  1. Set the <12. Band Switch> to 'MP3' mode.
  2. Insert a USB flash drive or TF card with MP3 files into the <5. Flash Drive Slot> or <6. TF Card Slot>. Playback starts automatically.
  3. Use <2. Forward> / <3. Previous> buttons to select songs. Long press for fast forward/rewind.
  4. Use <4. Play/Pause button> to pause or resume playback.

3. Play by AUX

  1. Set the <12. Band Switch> to 'MP3' mode. Long press <1. Mode Switch> to select 'AUX mode'. An 'AUX mode' sound will play.
  2. Connect one end of an AUX cable to the <7. AUX in Jack> and the other end to your mobile phone or computer's earphone jack. Play music from your device.
  3. Use <4. Play/Pause button> to mute/unmute ?.
  4. Use <1. Mode Switch> to change to other modes.

Remote Control

Functional Components (Remote)

The remote control has a battery insulation gasket (1) at the back. The front features a Remote Control Lamp (2), Power Button (3), Repeat button (4), Mode Switch (5), BT button (6), EQ button (7), Previous Button (8), Forward Button (9), Play/Pause Button (10), Volume Down Button (11), Volume Up Button (12), and a numeric keypad (13) from 0 to 9.

Usage of the Remote Control

Bluetooth Mode

  1. Press <3. Power Button> to disconnect or connect Bluetooth.
  2. Press <5. Mode Switch> to change modes.
  3. Press <7. EQ> to adjust timbres.
  4. Press <8. Previous> / <9. Forward> to select songs.
  5. Press <10. Play/Pause> to pause/resume.
  6. Press <11. Volume Down> / <12. Volume Up> to adjust volume. A notification sound indicates minimum/maximum volume.

Flash Drive / TF Card Playing Mode

  1. Press <3. Power Button> to turn off/on playback.
  2. Press <5. Mode Switch> to change modes.
  3. Press <6. BT> to switch to Bluetooth mode.
  4. Press <7. EQ> to adjust timbres.
  5. Press <8. Previous> / <9. Forward> to select songs. Long press for rewind/fast-forward.
  6. Press <10. Play/Pause> to pause/resume.
  7. Press <11. Volume Down> / <12. Volume Up> to adjust volume. A notification sound indicates minimum/maximum volume.
  8. Press <13. 0-9 Number Buttons> to select specific MP3 files (e.g., 1+6+8 for the 168th track).

AUX Mode

  1. Press <3. Power Button> to disconnect or connect AUX.
  2. Press <5. Mode Switch> to change modes.
  3. Press <6. BT> to switch to Bluetooth mode.
  4. Press <7. EQ> to adjust timbres.
  5. Press <10. Play/Pause> to mute/unmute ?.
  6. Press <11. Volume Down> / <12. Volume Up> to adjust volume. A notification sound indicates minimum/maximum volume.

Remote Control Maintenance

  1. Pull out the <1. Battery Insulation Gasket> from the battery compartment before use.
  2. The remote control is active only in USB/TF/AUX/Bluetooth modes.
  3. For best results, point the remote control lamp at the <17. IR (Infrared) receiver>.
  4. Each button functions only in the modes specified in its introduction; otherwise, it is invalid.
