SAFETY AND WARNING INFORMATION
WARNINGS
- Comply with national and regional electrical safety regulations. Ensure the device is firmly fixed when mounted.
- Use only the specified standard adapter to prevent fire, electric shock, or product damage.
- Verify the power supply voltage before use.
- Incorrect power connection or battery replacement can cause explosion, fire, electric shock, or damage.
- Do not connect multiple cameras to a single adapter to avoid excessive heat generation or fire.
- Securely plug the power cord into the power source to prevent fire.
- Fasten the camera securely during installation to prevent personal injury from falling.
- Avoid installation in locations with extreme temperatures or high humidity, which can cause fire or electric shock.
- Do not place conductive objects or water containers on the camera to prevent injury or electric shock.
- Avoid humid, dusty, or sooty locations to prevent fire or electric shock.
- Do not install near heat sources like radiators or amplifiers.
- Keep away from direct sunlight and heat radiation sources to prevent fire.
- If unusual smells or smoke occur, immediately disconnect power and contact a service center.
- If the product does not operate normally, contact a service center. Do not disassemble or modify the product.
- Do not spray water directly onto the product during cleaning to prevent fire or electric shock.
CAUTIONS
- Use proper safety gear during installation and wiring.
- Avoid dropping objects or applying strong shock. Keep away from excessive vibration or magnetic interference.
- Do not use the product near water.
- The product should not be exposed to dripping or splashing. Do not place liquid-filled objects on the product.
- Avoid aiming the camera directly at extremely bright objects like the sun, as it may damage the image sensor.
- The main plug serves as a disconnect device and must remain operable.
- Unplug the power adapter during lightning to prevent fire or damage.
- Do not block ventilation openings. Install according to manufacturer instructions.
- A polarized or grounding-type plug is recommended. Consult an electrician if the plug does not fit the outlet.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, especially at plugs and connection points.
- If laser equipment is used nearby, ensure the sensor surface is not exposed to laser beams to prevent sensor damage.
- Turn off power before moving or reinstalling the camera.
- Proper configuration of passwords and security settings is the responsibility of the installer/end-user.
- For cleaning, use a soft, clean cloth. Cover the lens cap when not in use to protect from dirt.
- Do not touch the camera lens or sensor module with fingers.
- Use only manufacturer-specified attachments/accessories.
- Use compatible hardware (screws, anchors, bolts) of sufficient length and construction for secure mounting.
- Use only with manufacturer-specified carts, stands, tripods, brackets, or tables.
- Unplug the product when using a cart. Exercise caution when moving cart/product combinations to prevent tip-over injuries.
- Refer all servicing to qualified personnel when the product is damaged, exposed to liquid/objects, rain/moisture, operates abnormally, or has been dropped.
Installation Steps
STEP 1 – PREPARING TO MOUNT THE CAMERA
Use the mounting template sheet or the camera itself to mark and drill the necessary holes in the wall or ceiling.
STEP 2 – POWERING THE CAMERA
Pass wires through and make necessary connections.
Power Options:
- PoE: Use a PoE Switch or PoE Injector to connect data and power using a single Ethernet cable.
- Non-PoE: Use a non-PoE Switch to connect data via Ethernet cable and a separate power adapter for power.
Power Requirements: DC12V, PoE (IEEE 802.3af class 3). Adapter not included.
Power Consumption: <8W
If needed, install the waterproof cap. For extreme environments, use an outdoor-rated sealer.
STEP 3 – INSTALLING THE CAMERA
- Mount the camera to the surface using the included screws and anchors.
- Adjust the camera's pan and tilt by loosening the lock screw at the base. Tighten the screw after adjustment.
Resetting the camera: Press the reset button at the base for five (5) seconds to perform a camera-wide reset of all settings, including network settings.
STEP 4 – CABLING
Connect power, network, alarm input/outputs, and audio to the camera. The diagram illustrates these connections.

STEP 5 – MANAGING THE SD CARD (OPTIONAL)
- Loosen the lock screw at the camera's base to rotate the module and remove the control panel cover to access the SD card slot.
- Insert a Class 10 SD/SDHC/SDXC card (maximum 256GB) into the slot.
- Press the card inward until it clicks to release it from the slot.
STEP 6 – DW® IP FINDER™
Use the DW® IP Finder™ software to scan the network, detect MEGApix® cameras, set network settings, or access the camera's web client.
Software Installation:
- Visit: http://www.digital-watchdog.com
- Search for "DW IP Finder" in the search box.
- Navigate to the "Software" tab on the DW IP Finder page to download and install.
Software Usage:
- Open DW IP Finder and click 'Scan Devices'. The software scans the selected network and lists supported devices. The DW® logo turns gray during the scan.
- Initial Password Setup: When connecting for the first time, a password must be set. Select the camera(s), click "Bulk Password Assign", enter current credentials (admin/admin), and then the new username and password (minimum 8 characters, with at least 4 combinations of uppercase/lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters; password cannot contain the user ID). Click "change" to apply.
- Network Settings: Double-click a camera or click 'Click' to view/adjust its network settings. Settings are DHCP by default.
- Access Web Page: Click the 'Website' button.
- Save Changes: Enter the camera's admin username and password, then click 'Apply'.
Network Configuration Options:
- DHCP: Camera automatically receives an IP address from the DHCP server.
- Static: Manually enter the camera's IP address, (Sub)Netmask, Gateway, and DNS information. This is required when connecting to Spectrum® IPVMS.
Contact your network administrator for assistance.
For external network access, port forwarding must be configured on your router.
STEP 7 – WEB VIEWER
Access the camera's web interface to view live streams and configure settings.
Access via DW IP Finder:
- Find the camera using DW IP Finder.
- Double-click the camera's view in the results table.
- Press the 'Website' button to open the web viewer in your default browser.
- Enter the username and password set during the DW IP Finder setup. If no new password was set, you will be prompted to create one.
Access via Web Browser:
- Open a web browser.
- Enter the camera's IP address and port in the address bar (e.g., http://<ipaddress>:<port>). Port forwarding may be necessary for access from a different network.
- Enter the camera's username and password.
Note: GUI display may differ by camera model. Some menu options may vary. Refer to the full manual for details.
