Obstructions to Seat Position Adjustment
If the seat adjustment unexpectedly stops during operation, check for and remove any obstructions.
To reset the seat adjustment mechanism after removing an obstruction:
- Press and hold the corresponding adjustment button for two seconds to resume the interrupted adjustment.
- If the movement resumes, continue holding the button until the seat reaches its furthest position in the selected direction. The seat position can now be adjusted normally.
Note: If there are no obstructions and the seat still jams, contact your Land Rover dealer or authorized workshop.
Correct Seating Position
Warning: The driver and front passenger are prohibited from reclining the seatback fully. Seat components, headrests, seat belts, and airbags provide protection for the driver and passengers. Proper use of these components enhances your safety. Therefore, always adhere to the following rules:
- Sit upright. Your lower back should be firmly against the seatback. The seatback should not be reclined more than 30 degrees.
- Do not move the driver's seat too close to the steering wheel. The ideal position is when the distance between the center of your rib cage and the steering wheel airbag cover is no more than 254 mm (10 inches). Keep the steering wheel in the correct position, with your arms slightly bent at the elbows.
- Adjust the headrest so that its top edge is above the middle of your head.
- Position the seat belt so it passes over the middle of your shoulder. The belt should fit snugly across your hips, not your stomach.
- Your driving position should be comfortable and allow you to operate all vehicle controls effectively.
Driver's Seat Position Memory
After adjusting the exterior mirrors and the driver's seat (refer to page 38, EXTERIOR MIRRORS), you can save these settings for future use.
- Press the memory save button (M) to activate this function.
- Press one of the preset buttons and hold it for 5 seconds to save the current settings. The instrument panel will display "MEMORY (1, 2 or 3) SETTINGS SAVED" and an audible signal will confirm the settings have been saved.
- To recall saved settings, press the corresponding preset button. The instrument panel will display "MEMORY (1, 2 OR 3) RECALLED".
Seat positions are stored only during a 5-second active period. When new settings are saved to a memory slot, any previously stored settings in that slot will be erased.
