BURG-WÄCHTER SecuTronic Operating Instructions

Introduction

Dear customer, thank you for choosing a safe with a BURG-WÄCHTER SecuTronic lock. This electronic lock is certified according to ECB Class A and developed according to current technical standards, including EN 1300:2018 for high-security locks. Please read this entire manual before programming and keep it safe for future reference. We hope you enjoy your new BURG-WÄCHTER safe.

Design and Input

The SecuTronic lock features several key components for operation:

Input Options: The lock uses the number keys for code entry and the [Func] key for navigation and selection, similar to the descriptions above.

Diagram Description (Design): The design shows the electronic lock unit with a keypad (numbers 0-9, [Func], [On/Enter]), a display screen, and a mounting bracket. The keypad layout is standard numeric with additional function keys.

General Information

Activation

The electronics are activated by pressing the [On/Enter] key on the keyboard, which illuminates the keypad. The BURG-WÄCHTER logo appears briefly on the display before the PIN code or fingerprint input graphic is shown.

Languages

The menu navigation is available in multiple languages and can be set via the "Languages" menu. Refer to the "Menu Language" chapter for detailed instructions.

Blocking Times

For security, the lock electronics will block access for five minutes after three consecutive incorrect PIN entries. Each subsequent incorrect entry extends the blocking time by ten minutes. A countdown timer is displayed during the blocking period, during which the safe cannot be opened even with a valid code.

Increasing Burglary Protection

To enhance security:

Attention: All code changes (administrator, factory, user) must be performed with the safe door open. After a code change, operate the lock several times with the new code while the door is open.

Menu Structure and Functions

Menu Structure

The menu is structured for easy navigation:

Code Change Menu

This menu allows you to change administrator and user codes. It is crucial to change the factory-set administrator code to a unique, individually set code for security reasons. The process involves entering the old code, then the new code twice, and confirming the changes.

Language Menu

Select your preferred display language from the available options. After selecting, confirm your choice, and a confirmation message will appear.

Administrator Menu

This section houses advanced functions requiring administrator privileges. Key sub-menus include:

Note on Initial Setup: Upon first use, you may be prompted to enter the current date and time (day, month, year, hour, minutes).

Maintenance and Safety

Battery Replacement

The battery status is indicated on the display. When a low battery message appears, replace the batteries promptly. To replace batteries:

  1. Remove the two Torx T8 screws from the underside of the lock electronics.
  2. Slide the cover out, which will also release the batteries.
  3. Remove old batteries and dispose of them responsibly.
  4. Insert four new 1.5 V AA Mignon batteries, observing correct polarity as shown on the battery holder. Use branded batteries; rechargeable batteries are not recommended.
  5. Slide the cover and batteries back into place and secure with screws.

Diagram Description (Battery Replacement): The process involves unscrewing the lock cover, removing the old batteries, and inserting new AA batteries while paying attention to polarity. The correct battery type and quantity are specified.
