OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS AUthorised dealer: T: 1300 764 971 sales@safeguardgroup.com.au www.safeguardsafes.com.au OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFE & ELECTRONIC CONTROL PANEL IMPORTANT: Please keep codes and emergency key in a safe place outside of this safe. Keep your personal code secure. Do not use personal data (eg: birthdays, telephone numbers etc). If the safe will not be used for a long period of time, please take out batteries. For security reasons the pre-selected user code and master code should be changed. If you have any questions, please contact your local dealer. GETTING STARTED (USING MANUAL OVERRIDE KEY): On the front control panel, clip off the plastic cover where logos are printed. Insert cross key into hole and turn key clockwise until it stops. The door will open. With the door open, turn the key anticlockwise the locking bars in door will extend to the locked position remove the key. Place key back in hole. Turn key clockwise locking bars will retract into door. Close door and turn key anticlockwise. The safe is now locked. Take key out, insert 4 x AA batteries and replace plastic cover plate. HOW TO INSTALL THE BATTERIES: On the front control panel, clip off the plastic cover where logos are printed. Put in 4 x AA 1.5V (Alkaline) batteries. Replace plastic cover. NOTE: If the batteries are low in charge, the display will show "Lo Batt". If that happens, replace the complete set of batteries. Please dispose of old batteries responsibly. HOW TO OPEN THE SAFE: Press "ENTER" key "CODE" appears in display. Enter the user code (preselected 1-6-8) and press "ENTER" again. The door unlocks automatically. "OPE" appears in display. HOW TO CLOSE THE SAFE: Close door on safe. Press "CLOSE", "OPE" appears on display and this will automatically lock the door. HOW TO PROGRAM YOUR NEW USER CODE: Door must be opened and locking bars retracted (into door) in unlocked position. Press "ENTER" display will show "CODE". Enter your NEW user code (1-8 digits) press "ENTER". Close the door and press "CLOSE". The door locks automatically and new code is active. CODE ERROR: If an incorrect code is entered, the display shows "ERROR" and a series of short beeps is heard. If an incorrect code is entered 3 times the keypad becomes inactive and you will not be able to open the safe for 5 minutes. This is an inbuilt safety mechanism. If this happens "ERROR 3" appears in the display. After 5 minutes the correct user or master code can be entered. Note: If you press a wrong number when keying in your code, you can delete the last digit entered by pressing the "CLOSE" button. Each time you press the close button you will delete another digit that was entered. HOW TO SET CLOCK Open the safe door. Press the "CLOSE" button so that the locking bars are extended in the locked position. Press "SET", the hour flashes. Press the "H/M" button and hold until the correct hour appears. NOTE: Prefix P = PM, Blank = AM Press "SET" again, the minute flashes. Press "H/M", hold until the correct minute appears. Repeat for seconds if necessary. Press "SET" button to confirm time. All numbers should stop flashing. HOW TO OPEN SAFE WITH MASTER CODE: Press the "ENTER" key, display shows "CODE". Enter master code (pre-selected 12345678), press "ENTER". Display will show PASS 1, PASS 2, PASS 3 ... PASS 0. At the end of this count the user code is displayed for your reference and the door opens automatically. Note: Input of the Master Code erases the existing user code. To lock the safe a new User Code needs to be created. HOW TO PROGRAM NEW MASTER CODE To change master code, the safe door must be open and the locking bars must be extended in the locked position by using the override key. Press "ENTER" key, display will show "CODE". Enter master code (preselected 12345678), press "ENTER" Display will show PASS 1, PASS 2, PASS 3 ... PASS 0 and then a 10 second count is displayed. Before this count finishes press "ENTER" again. Display shows "CODE" Enter new Master Code (8 digits) again. Press "ENTER" "SEC" will appear on display, re-enter your new Master Code and press "ENTER". When the new master code is accepted "GOOD" appears in the display. If it does not appear, go back to step 1. INSTALLATION: The safe can be installed on the wall or on the floor with plugs and screws.
