Getting Started

Before first use, please read the service instructions and safety information contained within.

Configuring Home Connect

Tip: Connect your appliance to a mobile device. The Home Connect app allows you to make all settings conveniently.

  1. Scan the following QR code. The QR code allows you to install the Home Connect app and connect your appliance.
  2. Follow the instructions in the Home Connect app.

Water Hardness Adjustment

Here you will find an overview of the adjustable values for the water hardness level. The service instructions contain a table with country-specific units.

To adjust the water softening system:

  1. Press the button.
  2. To open the appliance settings, press Setup for 3 seconds. ✔ flashes.
  3. Press Start as often as necessary until the correct water hardness level is set. 0, 1, 2 or 3 LEDs will light up accordingly.
  4. To save the settings, press Setup for 3 seconds.

Adding Special Salt

To prevent damage to the appliance, only add special salt immediately before starting the program in the relevant compartment.

  1. Unscrew and remove the cap of the special salt compartment.
  2. For initial commissioning: fill the compartment completely with water.
  3. Add special salt to the compartment. The water in the compartment will be displaced and drain out. Never add detergent.
  4. Replace the cap on the compartment and close it by turning.

Use the funnel provided.

Adding Rinse Aid

  1. Press the tab on the rinse aid compartment lid and lift it.
  2. Add rinse aid up to the max mark.
  3. Close the rinse aid compartment lid. The lid will click into place audibly.

Adding Detergent

  1. Add detergent to the dry detergent compartment.
  2. Close the detergent compartment lid. The lid will click into place audibly.

Quick Guide

  1. Load the dishwasher. Only wash dishwasher-safe items. Remove large food residues from the dishes. Check that the spray arms can rotate freely.
  2. Add detergent.
  3. Switch on the appliance.
  4. Set the program.
  5. Start the program.
  6. After the program has finished, unload the dishes.
  7. To cancel the program, press and hold Reset for approx. 4 seconds. The program is cancelled and finishes after approx. 1 minute.

Programs

The program data is determined in the laboratory according to European standard EN 60436. Consumption values are reference values (except Eco) and depend on the selected program and selected additional function. With the rinse aid system switched off or no rinse aid added, the elapsed time changes. The program duration may vary.

Cleaning the Filters

  1. After each wash, check the filters for residue.
  2. Turn the coarse filter to the left and remove the filter system.
  3. Remove the microfilter downwards.
  4. Press the locking tabs and remove the coarse filter upwards.
  5. Clean the filter components under running water.
  6. Reassemble the filter system.
  7. Insert the filter system into the appliance and turn the coarse filter to the right. Ensure the arrow markings align.

Cleaning the Spray Arms

  1. Unscrew the spray arms.
  2. Remove the lower spray arm upwards.
  3. Check the outlet nozzles of the spray arms for blockages under running water and remove any foreign objects if necessary.
  4. Reinstall the lower spray arm. The spray arm will click into place audibly.
  5. Reinstall and screw on the upper spray arms securely.

Cleaning the Drain Pump

  1. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
  2. Remove the filter system.
  3. Drain any existing water.
  4. Using a spoon, lift the pump cover and hold it by the retaining tab.
  5. Lift the pump cover diagonally inwards and remove it.
  6. Remove any food debris and foreign objects from the impeller area.
  7. Replace the pump cover and press down. The pump cover will click into place audibly.
  8. Install the filter system.

Troubleshooting

FaultCause and solution
Food residue on dishes.Dishes are loaded too tightly or the basket is overloaded. Load dishes with sufficient space between them. The spray jets must reach the surface of the dishes. Avoid contact points. The rotation of the spray arm is blocked. Load the dishes so that they do not impede the rotation of the spray arm. The spray arm nozzles are blocked. Clean the spray arms. The filters are dirty. Clean the filters.
Dishes have streaks, glasses look metallic, and cutlery has streaks.The filters are incorrectly positioned and/or not clipped in. Position the filters correctly. Clip in the filters. A wash program that is too gentle has been selected. Select a more intensive wash program. The amount of rinse aid added is set too high. Adjust the rinse aid system to a lower setting. No rinse aid has been added. Add rinse aid.
There are rust marks on the cutlery.The cutlery is not sufficiently rust-proof. Knife blades are usually most affected. Use rust-proof cutlery. Cutlery also oxidizes if washed together with parts that are oxidizing. Do not wash parts that are oxidizing.
There are detergent residues in the detergent drawer or tablet compartment.The spray arms were blocked by dishes and the detergent was not removed. Ensure that the spray arms are not blocked and can rotate freely.
All LEDs light up or flash, or the wash program does not continue.The electronic system has detected a fault. Press and hold the main switch button for approx. 4 seconds. The appliance is reset and restarts.
