- There is a fire risk if cleaning is not carried out in accordance with the instructions.
- To avoid using food products that produce flame under the range hood.
- Do not "flambé" food (is a cooking procedure in which alcohol is added to a hot pan to create a burst of flames) under the range hood.
- Sufficient air is needed for proper exhausting of gases through flue (chimney) of fuel burning appliances.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, mental capabilities, lack of experience and knowledge.
- To reduce risk of fire and to properly exhaust air and to ensure to duct air outside. Do not vent exhaust air into spaces within walls, ceilings, into attics and crawl spaces.

5. Installation
General Installation Guidelines
- Use suitable bolts to mount the appliance on a secure surface.
- The minimum distance between the supporting surface for the cooking vessels on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood. When the range hood is located above a gas appliance, this distance shall be at least 65 cm. If the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this has to be taken into consideration.
- The location of the installation must have permanent openings for ventilation.
- Regulations concerning the discharge of air have to be fulfilled.
- It is strongly recommended that the hood to be installed right over the exhaust air from cooking.
- Do not install the outlet of the pipe in the wind direction, which can prevent the exhaust air from flowing backward.
- To fasten the components for the exhaust outlet with screws. To ensure good ejection of exhaust air, the pipe must not be bended for too many times.
Diagrams illustrating installation clearances and ducting options are provided, showing measurements for height (e.g., 1200-1680mm, 600mm, 150-1630mm), widths (e.g., 440mm, 500mm), and duct sizes (e.g., 180mm, 200mm, 223mm). One diagram shows a minimum distance of 65cm from the hob, and another shows a duct radius of R150mm with a maximum pipe length of 1.5M.
Slim Model Installation
Step 1: Wall Mounting
- To install onto the wall, drill 2 holes of Ø8mm on a suitable place according to the centre distance of the hole in the back of the cooker hood.
- To insert the nut into the holes.
- To insert the screws into the nuts and tighten. Place the cooker hood onto the tightened screws.
- To fix the cooker hood with a safety screw. The two safety vents are positioned on the back casing, with a diameter of 6mm.
- To put the one-way valve onto the cooker hood.
A diagram shows the wall drilling and hood placement, indicating dimensions like 483/783 and 6mm for vents.
Step 2: Cupboard Mounting
- To drill 4 holes of 6mm diameter at the bottom of the hanging cupboard.
- To put the one-way valve on the cooker hood, then install the cooker hood on the bottom of the cupboard, tighten the hood with enclosed 4 screws.
- To install the adjusted board on the bottom of the hood in order to keep out the gap between the hood rear and cupboard.
A diagram illustrates the hood being mounted under a cupboard, with dimensions like 500/800 and 50/10 indicated.
Notes on Ventilation
- The extended pipe is an optional accessory, not included.
- Remove the protection film before installation.
- There are 2 methods for ventilation: 'horizontal ventilation' and 'vertical ventilation'. Please pay attention to the ventilation method during installation.
- Vertical ventilation: See Diagram A. Use a tool to remove the round cover before installing; the air can be vented from the top.
- Horizontal ventilation: See Diagram B. Use a tool to remove the round cover before installing; the air can be vented from the back.
- The square air outlet for horizontal ventilation is not supplied.
Diagram A shows air venting upwards (vertical). Diagram B shows air venting backwards (horizontal).
Built-in Mounting Installation
Step 1
To ensure the cut-out size is correct before installing the range hood. To install the back draft base to the range hood.
Diagram shows the back draft base being attached to the hood.
Step 2
To secure the undermount into the cavity using screws. All screws are to be installed from the bottom of the range hood into the cabinet.
Diagram shows the hood being secured into a cabinet.
Step 3
To connect the 6-pin connectors onto the face plate to the range hood before securing the face plate to the cabinet using provided screws. To insert the light bulb and filter into the face plate.
Diagram shows the electrical connection and face plate assembly.
Installation (Vent Inside): If you do not have an outlet to the outside, an exhaust pipe is not required, and the installation is similar to the one shown in the "Installation (Vent outside)" section.
Activated Carbon Filter Installation
Activated carbon filter can be used to trap odors.
In order to install the activated carbon filter, the grease filter should be detached first. Press the lock and pull it downward.
Plug the activated carbon filter into the unit and turn it in clockwise direction. Repeat the same on the other side.
A diagram shows the process of detaching the grease filter and inserting the carbon filter.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- To ensure the activated carbon filter is securely locked.
- When activated carbon filter is attached, the suction power will be lower.
- To check the electrical connection corresponds to the electrical requirement on the rating plate, which is placed inside the cooker hood. The appliance should now be connected to the electrical supply.
- To check the appliance is operating correctly by selecting each speed and switching the light bulb on and off.
- To remove the hanging hook and then slide the lower chimney section downwards, until it rests against the main body of the cooker hood.
- To use a stainless-steel cleaner and polish on the stainless steel surfaces of the appliance.
- If you are using the appliance in recirculation mode, you should install the carbon filter. See the "fitting the carbon filter" section on page 21.
- Every hood has two fixing screws to firmly fix the hood in its place.
