Care & Maintenance
[CAUTION] External surfaces are susceptible to scratches and abrasions, so please follow the cleaning instructions to ensure the best possible result is achieved without damage.
Cleaning the Hood
- Clean the outside of the hood using a damp cloth and a solution of water and mild washing up liquid. Clean the surfaces using non-abrasive cleaning products. Use of a soft cloth reduces the risk of scratching. If the cloth is wet, ensure that a dry soft cloth is used to wipe down the surface.
- Never use corrosive, abrasive or flammable cleaning products or products containing bleach.
- Never insert pointed objects into the motor's protective grid.
- Only ever clean the switch panel and filter grill using a damp cloth and mild washing up liquid.
- It is extremely important to clean the unit and change the filters at the recommended intervals. Failure to do so will cause grease deposits that could cause a fire.
- Clean regularly after use to remove any residues from cooking, especially residues from acidic fruits, yoghurts & milk-based products.
Removing the Metal Grease Filters
Open the light panel, push the grease filter and then pull it down and out. [Diagram Fig.27 shows how to remove the grease filter.]
Loose two screws as indicated Fig.29. [Diagram Fig.29 shows loosening screws to access the panel.]
Changing the LED Light Panel
- This LED light panel is specified and needs to be replaced with an overall new one if the lights burn out.
- Do not replace personally; it requires a qualified technician to carry out the replacement. Please contact your local service center for replacement work.
To remove the LED light panel, please follow below steps:
- Open the light panel and remove the filters as indicated Fig.27.
- Disconnect all the wiring connections linked to the panel.
- Loose two screws as indicated Fig.28. [Diagram Fig.28 shows loosening screws to remove the LED light panel.]
- Loose two screws as indicated Fig.29.
[WARNING] Ensure that the appliance is switched off before carrying out maintenance to avoid any possibility of electric shock.
Hand Washing (Grease Filters)
Soak grease filter for about one hour in hot water with a grease-loosening cleaner, then rinse off thoroughly with hot water. Repeat the process if necessary. Refit the grease filters when they are dry.
Dishwasher (Grease Filters)
Place grease filters in the dishwasher. Select the most powerful washing program and highest temperature (at least 65°C). Repeat the process. Refit the grease filters when they are dry. When washing the metal grease filter in the dishwasher, a slight discolouration of the filter can occur; this does not have any impact on its performance.
Note: The metal grease filters must be removed and washed, either by hand or in the dishwasher, every four weeks minimum.
Cleaning Inner Housing
Clean the inner housing using warm water and grease-loosening cleaner (never use caustic detergents, abrasive powders or brushes).
[WARNING] Ensure that the appliance is switched off before cleaning the inner housing to avoid any possibility of electric shock.
Charcoal Filter
The charcoal filter should only be used if you want to use the hood in the recirculation function.
This filter cannot be cleaned or re-used and, as a general rule, the activated charcoal filter should be changed once every four months.
Fitting Charcoal Filter
Fit one charcoal filter on the left and one on the right so as to cover the plastic grids that protect the fan wheel, as indicated Fig.30. [Diagram Fig.30 shows how to fit the charcoal filter onto the fan wheel grids.]
Always specify the hood model code number and serial number when ordering replacement filters. This information is shown on the registration plate located on the inside of this unit.
Replacement charcoal filters can be ordered from your local service centre.
Troubleshooting Guide
PROBLEM | SOLUTION |
---|---|
The range hood does not start | Check that the hood is connected to an electrical supply. Check that a fan speed has been selected. Check that a fan speed is set high enough for the task. |
Poor extraction | The grease filters are clean. The kitchen is adequately vented to allow the entry of fresh air. If set up for recirculation, check that charcoal filter is still effective. |
The range hood has switched off during operation | The safety cut-out device has been tripped. Check the installation height should follow the installation instructions. Check and clear filters. Do not put flame directly under range hood. |
If you have completed all of the above checks and are still experiencing difficulty, please contact your local Service Centre.
