Safety Instructions

Take the time to read all the following instructions carefully and save them for future reference.

  • Improper use of the appliance and its accessories may damage the appliance and cause injury.
  • The appliance cooks food under pressure. Incorrect use may cause risks of burns due to steam.
  • For your safety, this product conforms to all applicable standards and regulations (Low Voltage Directive, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Food Compliant Materials, Environment, etc.).
  • The heat source necessary for cooking is included in the appliance.

1. Where to use safely?

  • Indoor use only.
  • This appliance is intended for domestic household use only. It is not intended for use in: staff kitchen areas, farm houses, hotels, motels, residential type environments, or bed and breakfast environments.
  • Do not place the appliance in a heated oven or on a hot hob. Do not place it near an open flame or flammable object.
  • Use on a flat, stable, heat-resistant work surface, away from water splashes.

2. Who to use safely?

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person.
  • Children must not use or play with the appliance. Keep it and its power cord out of reach of children.

3. How to use safely – general usage?

  • Use only for its intended purpose.
  • Do not use for frying in oil; only browning is allowed.
  • This appliance is not a steriliser.
  • Do not use with an external timer or remote-control system.
  • Always use the side handles to carry the appliance. Wear oven mitts if hot. Ensure the lid is locked before transporting.
  • Ensure the bottom of the cooking pot and heating plate are clean and in direct contact.
  • Be aware that certain foods (e.g., applesauce, cranberries, rhubarb, pearl barley, oatmeal, split peas, noodles, pasta) can foam, froth, and clog valves. Use caution and clean valves thoroughly after use.
  • When cooking doughy food, gently shake the cooker before opening the lid to avoid food ejection.
  • Be aware that recipes with milk can foam, froth, overflow, and clog valves. Use caution and clean valves thoroughly.
  • After cooking meat with skin (like ox tongue) that might swell, do not pierce the skin after cooking; pierce it before cooking to avoid burns.
  • Do not use the appliance empty or without the cooking pot.
  • Do not fill the appliance without its cooking pot.
  • Do not operate under pressure without water.
  • Caution: do not spill liquid on the plug.
  • Do not heat the cooking pot with any other heat source than the appliance's heating plate. Do not use other pots or use the cooking pot with other appliances.
  • Use the cooking pot ONLY in the appliance. Do not use it on stovetops or in ovens.
  • Use plastic or wooden utensils to avoid damaging the non-stick coating. Do not cut food directly in the pot.
  • Do not touch valves except during cleaning and maintenance.
  • Do not place foreign objects in valves or the pressure release button. Do not replace valves.
  • Regularly check valve ducts for blockages.
  • Do not use a cloth or anything else to leave the lid ajar, as this can permanently damage the sealing gasket.
  • Do not let the power cord hang over edges or touch hot surfaces.

4. How to use safely – before cooking?

  • Check that the float valve and pressure limit valve are clean.
  • Check that the sealing gasket is correctly installed on the lid.
  • Ensure the bottom of the cooking pot and heating plate are clean and the central part of the heating plate is mobile.
  • Do not fill the appliance beyond the MAX mark.
  • Follow recommendations on food and water volume to avoid boiling over.
  • Ensure the appliance is properly closed before bringing it to pressure.
  • Keep the pressure release button at the seal position.

5. How to use safely – during cooking?

  • Do not try to open the lid until pressure has decreased sufficiently and the float valve is down.
  • Never force the appliance open.
  • Keep face and hands away from steam output during cooking and steam release. Do not touch the lid during cooking.
  • Do not move the appliance under pressure. Use handles and oven mitts if necessary. Do not use the lid knob to lift the appliance.

6. How to use safely – after cooking?

  • When opening the lid, hold by the lid knob, arm parallel to side handles. Boiling water trapped between gasket and lid can cause burns.
  • Open the lid slightly to allow steam to escape gently.
  • Do not touch hot parts. The heating plate can remain hot for up to 2 hours after use.
  • Unplug when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before removing parts.

7. How to use safely – cleaning?

  • Wipe clean the bottom of the cooking pot and heating plate after each use.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water.
  • Wash cooking pot and lid in hot soapy water; they are not dishwasher safe.
  • Clean the housing with a damp cloth.

8. What to do in case of damage?

  • Do not operate a damaged appliance. Return it to an Approved Service Centre.
  • Only authorized personnel can repair the product.
  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an Approved Service Centre.
  • Do not damage the sealing gasket; have it replaced by an Approved Service Centre if damaged.
  • Replace the sealing gasket every 2 years, or sooner if worn.
  • Use only appropriate spare parts for your model.
  • Use only spare parts sold in an Approved Service Centre.
  • Accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use other cooking pots; replace only with original spare parts.
  • Before disposal, render the appliance inoperative (unplug and cut the power cord).

Status Messages:

  • Welcome message: Displayed when the appliance is turned on.
  • Time display: Shows the cooking time remaining or set time (e.g., 1 hour 30 minutes).
  • Temperature display: Shows the current temperature (e.g., 114 degrees Celsius).
  • Program default settings indicator: Indicates automatic temperature/time settings that cannot be modified.
  • Rising temperature indicator: Shows temperature rising during pre-heating.
  • Pre-heating indicator: Shows the appliance is pre-heating.
  • Program finished indicator: Indicates the program is complete.
  • Keep warm indicator: Shows the appliance is in keep warm phase.
  • Interrupted program indicator: Shows the program has been interrupted.

How To Use & Clean Guide

Before First Use

  1. Remove packaging: Take the appliance out of its packaging and read the manual before first use. Remove any promotional stickers.
  2. Open the lid: Hold the lid knob, turn anti-clockwise, and lift the lid. Note: The cooking pot may remain attached to the lid due to hermeticity; open gently. Place the appliance on a flat surface and remove all protective materials and accessories.
  3. Clean all parts: Clean the lid, cooking pot, and accessories with a soft sponge and soapy hot water. Dry them thoroughly.

Cleaning Specific Parts

3a. Clean the lid, the cooking pot and the accessories

  • Clean with a soft sponge and soapy hot water.
  • Dry thoroughly.
  • Do not use abrasive sponges on the cooking pot to avoid damaging the non-stick coating.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water. If water spills on the heating plate, take it to an Approved Service Centre.
  • The lid and cooking pot are not dishwasher safe. Only the ladle, measuring cup, and steam basket are dishwasher safe.

3b. Clean the sealing gasket

  • Remove the sealing gasket from the lid and clean it with a soft sponge and soapy hot water.
  • Dry it off thoroughly.
  • Place the sealing gasket back onto its rack, pressing firmly to ensure it is snug and without puckering.
  • Note: If the lid is opened too quickly after replacing the gasket, the cooking pot might remain attached. This is normal. Open the lid gently to avoid this.
  • Warning: Never use the appliance without the sealing gasket.

3c. Clean the valves

  • Pressure limit valve: Remove, clean with a soft sponge and soapy hot water, dry, and ensure the pipe duct is clean before reinserting. Ensure it moves up and down freely.
  • Pressure limit valve cover: Unscrew, clean with a soft sponge and soapy hot water, dry, and ensure the pipe duct is clean before screwing back.
  • Float valve: Remove the float valve gasket, flip the lid to let the float valve out. Clean both with a soft sponge and soapy hot water, dry, and reinsert them correctly. Ensure the float valve moves up and down freely.

3d. Clean the housing of the appliance

  • Clean the housing with a damp cloth.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water.
  • Wipe the heating plate with a dry cloth.

Instructions for Use

1. Place ingredients in the cooking pot

  • Remove the cooking pot from the housing.
  • Add ingredients to the cooking pot.
  • Do not fill beyond the max level marking.
  • For expanding foods (e.g., dehydrated vegetables, rice), do not fill more than half capacity.

2. Place the cooking pot in the housing

  • Ensure the bottom of the cooking pot and heating plate are clean and dry.
  • Place the cooking pot into the housing.
  • Never use the appliance without the cooking pot.

3. Close and lock the lid

  • Check the sealing gasket is securely placed on the lid.
  • Place the lid on the appliance and turn clockwise to lock it.

4. Attach the pressure limit valve

  • Properly place the pressure limit valve on the lid. It should remain somewhat loose, which is normal.

5. Switch on the appliance

  • Unwind the power cord and plug it into the mains. The appliance will beep, and the screen will flash.

6. Select and launch a cooking program

Each program has default settings. Refer to the table below:

Note: Slight steam leakage from the lid, especially the pressure limit valve, is normal when pressure builds up.

Program Specific Instructions:

Stew Program

  • Place ingredients, close and lock lid.
  • Turn knob to Stew program. Screen shows default time.
  • Optional: Adjust time using the knob.
  • Press to start. Appliance pre-heats (screen shows & ; pre-heating light on).
  • After pre-heating, switches to cooking phase (countdown & cooking light on).
  • During cooking, pressure builds, float valve rises, under pressure light indicates lid cannot be opened.
  • At countdown end, appliance beeps (screen shows ). Switches to keep warm phase (screen shows & ; keep warm light on).
  • Press for 3 seconds to stop program.

Soup Program

  • Place ingredients, close and lock lid.
  • Turn knob to Soup program. Screen shows default time.
  • Optional: Adjust time using the knob.
  • Press to start. Appliance pre-heats (screen shows & ; pre-heating light on).
  • After pre-heating, switches to cooking phase (countdown & cooking light on).
  • During cooking, pressure builds, float valve rises, under pressure light indicates lid cannot be opened.
  • At countdown end, appliance beeps (screen shows ). Switches to keep warm phase (screen shows & ; keep warm light on).
  • Press for 3 seconds to stop program.

Brown Program

  • Turn knob to Brown program. Screen shows default time.
  • Optional: Adjust time and temperature using the knob.
  • Press to start. Appliance pre-heats (screen shows & ; pre-heating light on).
  • After pre-heating, switches to cooking phase (countdown & cooking light on).
  • For stir-fry, keep lid open.
  • At countdown end, appliance beeps (screen shows ). Switches to standby mode (screen shows ).
  • Press for 3 seconds to stop program.

Steam Program

  • Add 150ml water to the pot. Place ingredients in steam basket and put basket on top of pot. Close and lock lid.
  • Turn knob to Steam program. Screen shows default time.
  • Optional: Adjust time using the knob.
  • Press to start. Appliance pre-heats (screen shows & ; pre-heating light on).
  • After pre-heating, switches to cooking phase (countdown & cooking light on).
  • During cooking, pressure builds, float valve rises, under pressure light indicates lid cannot be opened.
  • At countdown end, appliance beeps (screen shows ). Switches to keep warm phase (screen shows & ; keep warm light on).
  • Press for 3 seconds to stop program.

Bake Program

  • Place preparation in pot, close lid but do not lock.
  • Turn knob to Bake program. Screen shows default time.
  • Optional: Adjust time using the knob.
  • Optional: Adjust temperature using the knob.
  • Press to start. Appliance pre-heats (screen shows & ; pre-heating light on).
  • After pre-heating, switches to cooking phase (countdown & cooking light on).
  • At countdown end, appliance beeps (screen shows ). Switches to keep warm phase (screen shows & ; keep warm light on).
  • Press for 3 seconds to stop program.

Slow-cook/Sous-vide Program

  • Place ingredients in pot, close lid.
  • Turn knob to Slow-cook/Sous-vide program. Screen shows default time.
  • Optional: Adjust time using the knob.
  • Optional: Adjust temperature using the knob.
  • Press to start. Appliance pre-heats (screen shows & ; pre-heating light on).
  • After pre-heating, switches to cooking phase (countdown & cooking light on).
  • At countdown end, appliance beeps (screen shows ). Switches to standby mode (screen shows ).
  • Press for 3 seconds to stop program.

Rice Program

  • Place ingredients in pot, close and lock lid.
  • Turn knob to Rice program. Screen shows default time.
  • Optional: Adjust time using the knob.
  • Press to start. Appliance pre-heats (screen shows & ; pre-heating light on).
  • After pre-heating, switches to cooking phase (countdown & cooking light on).
  • During cooking, pressure builds, float valve rises, under pressure light indicates lid cannot be opened.

Yogurt/Bread Rise Program

Used for making yogurt or raising bread/pastry dough.

  • Place ingredients in pot, close lid. For dough rising, knead directly in pot, then place pot in housing and close lid.
  • Turn knob to Yogurt/Bread Rise program. Screen shows default time.
  • Optional: Adjust time using the knob.
  • Optional: Adjust temperature using the knob.
  • Press to start. Appliance pre-heats (screen shows & ; pre-heating light on).
  • After pre-heating, switches to cooking phase (countdown & cooking light on).
  • At countdown end, appliance beeps (screen shows ). Switches to standby mode (screen shows ).
  • Press for 3 seconds to stop program.

Porridge Program

  • Place ingredients in pot, close and lock lid.
  • Turn knob to Porridge program. Screen shows default time.
  • Optional: Adjust time using the knob.
  • Press to start. Appliance pre-heats (screen shows & ; pre-heating light on).
  • After pre-heating, switches to cooking phase (countdown & cooking light on).
  • At countdown end, appliance beeps (screen shows ). Switches to keep warm phase (screen shows & ; keep warm light on).
  • Press for 3 seconds to stop program.

7. Use the delayed start function

Preset the appliance to start cooking later.

  • First, select a program (see part 6).
  • Before starting, press . Screen shows default delayed start time.
  • Set desired time using the knob.
  • Press . Screen shows delayed start countdown. Appliance starts cooking automatically when time elapses.

8. Open the lid

  • Do not attempt to open the lid if the float valve is up or the under pressure light indicator is on.
  • Pressure can be released in two ways:
  • Natural release: Appliance cools down, pressure releases naturally. Food may overcook.
  • Manual release: Press the pressure release button on the lid. This takes a few minutes depending on food quantity. Warning: Be careful of hot steam. Keep face and hands away from steam output.
  • To open the lid, position arm parallel to side handles, hold lid knob, turn anti-clockwise, and lift.

Maintenance, Cleaning & Troubleshooting

9. Unplug the appliance

  • After use, unplug and let it cool for at least 2 hours before cleaning.

10. Clean after use

  • Clean after each use.
  • Let appliance cool for at least 2 hours before cleaning.
  • Refer to "Before First Use" section for cleaning instructions.

11. Maintenance tips

  • Do not cut food in the cooking pot to ensure durability.
  • Use provided accessories. Avoid metallic utensils that can damage the non-stick coating.
  • The sealing gasket may retain smells; this is normal. To remove smells: place gasket in dishwasher or run a steam program with vinegar, water, and lemon.
  • Replace the sealing gasket every 2 years or if damaged.

Technical Troubleshooting Guide

Problem Possible Reasons Solutions
Unable to open lid Pressure in the cooking pot. Press pressure release button continuously until pressure is fully released.
Float valve stuck (dirty). a. Ensure pressure is fully released and appliance is cool. b. Gently push float valve with a skewer. If unsuccessful, contact Service Centre. c. Clean and dry float valve thoroughly for future use.
Unable to close lid Sealing gasket not properly installed. Install sealing gasket properly.
Cooking pot contains hot ingredients generating steam. Wait for ingredients to cool down before closing lid.
Float valve stuck (dirty). a. Gently push float valve with a skewer. If unsuccessful, contact Service Centre. b. Clean and dry float valve thoroughly for future use.
Lid closed incorrectly. Close lid in the correct direction as per manual.
When opening lid, cooking pot remains attached to lid. Sealing gasket created a suction effect. The cooking pot will detach on its own. This is normal. Open lid gently to avoid it falling heavily.
Intense release of pressure from pressure limit valve. Inner pressure exceeds working pressure or safety pressure. Clean pressure limit valve, float valve, and lid thoroughly. If steam continues, return appliance to Service Centre.
Pressure limit valve in incorrect position. Carefully rotate/press pressure limit valve to seat it. Be cautious of hot steam.
Faulty pressure control. Send appliance to Approved Service Centre for repair.
Continuous pressure release from float valve. Residue in float valve. a. Press pressure release button continuously. b. Let appliance cool for at least 2 hours. c. Clean and dry float valve.
Float valve is stuck. a. Press pressure release button continuously. b. Let appliance cool for at least 2 hours. c. Clean and dry float valve.
Steam leakage from lid. Sealing gasket not properly installed. Remove, clean, and reinstall sealing gasket correctly.
Sealing gasket is dirty. Remove, clean, and reinstall sealing gasket correctly.
Sealing gasket damaged, or cooking pot edge damaged. Send appliance to Approved Service Centre for repair.
Food is uncooked. Incorrect solid/liquid ingredient ratio. Follow recipe quantities precisely.
E0 displayed on digital screen. No electricity from power supply. Check home electric circuit.
E1 displayed on digital screen. Pressure switch faulty. Send appliance to Approved Service Centre for repair.
E2 displayed on digital screen. Temperature sensor faulty. Send appliance to Approved Service Centre for repair.
Lid not properly positioned for program. Check and adjust lid position as per program table (part 6). Restart program. If issue persists, contact Service Centre.

This product is repairable by Tefal/T-Fal during and after the guarantee period. Accessories, consumables, and replaceable parts can be purchased via the Tefal/T-Fal website.

The Guarantee:

Tefal/T-Fal guarantees this product against manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship for the specified guarantee period in listed countries, starting from the date of purchase or delivery. The guarantee covers costs related to restoring the product to its original specifications through repair or replacement of defective parts and labour. Tefal/T-Fal may, at its discretion, provide an equivalent or superior replacement product.

Conditions & Exclusions:

  • Requires a valid proof of purchase.
  • Does not cover damage from misuse, negligence, failure to follow instructions, unauthorized repairs, faulty packaging, or mishandling by carriers.
  • Does not cover normal wear and tear, maintenance, or replacement of consumable parts.
  • Excludes damage from: wrong water type, mechanical damage, overloading, ingress of water/dust/insects (unless designed for), lightning/power surges, scaling, accidents (fire, flood), glass/porcelain damage, professional/commercial use, incorrect voltage/frequency.

Consumer Statutory Rights:

This guarantee does not affect statutory consumer rights. It provides specific legal rights that may vary by state or country.

For Australia: Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Entitled to replacement/refund for major failure and compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss.

For India: Product guaranteed for 2 years, covering repair or replacement at Tefal's choice. Service requests must be logged via the TEFAL SERVICE APP or by calling the Consumer Care Center. Products returned by post are not covered.
