Dimensions

The unit measures approximately 7.73 inches (196.4 mm) in height, 6.97 inches (177 mm) in width, and 3.02 inches (76.6 mm) in depth. The knockouts are approximately 0.21 inches (5.3 mm) in diameter, and the overall depth including knockouts is 7.38 inches (187.5 mm).

Dimension tolerance: ±0.2 in (0.5 mm)

Required Tools & Accessories

The following tools and accessories are recommended for installation:

  • Phillips Screwdriver (#2)
  • Insulating Gloves
  • Wire Crimper
  • Self-tapping Screws x 4

[NOTE] Prior to installing the transfer switch, prepare the recommended tools, components, and accessories.

[NOTE] Choose proper mounting screws specific to your installation site. This manual uses self-tapping screws for wooden walls as an example.

Installation

Step 1. Mounting

For optimal system performance, install the transfer switch in a clean, cool, and dry location, free from water, oil, or dirt. Ensure cables are long enough to connect devices without straining. Observe safety warnings regarding fire/explosion risk, heat/water sources, water/debris protection, and zero-clearance compartments.

Step 2. Remove the Cover

Pry open the latch at the labeled "OPEN" position to remove the cover. Reinstall the cover after completing wiring.

Step 3. Wiring

[Risk of electric shock] Before wiring, wear insulating gloves and power off all power supplies (grid, generator/alternator, inverter). Remove cable knockout covers before wiring and pass cables through them to connect to the terminals.

Power Supply Terminals

Terminals include Control Panel, Generator, and Grid. They are designed for ring terminal connections.

  1. Remove the ring connector from a terminal using a Phillips screwdriver (#2).
  2. Size cable appropriately (14 AWG to 6 AWG).
  3. Strip wire insulation to the depth of the ring connector using a wire crimper. Insert the stripped cable and crimp securely.
  4. Install the ring connector back to the terminal using a Phillips screwdriver (#2).

Ground Terminals

Ground terminals are equipped with cable retainers.

  1. Open a cable retainer by turning the screw counterclockwise with a Phillips screwdriver (#2).
  2. Size cable appropriately (14 AWG to 6 AWG).
  3. Strip wire insulation to the depth of the cable retainer using a wire crimper. Insert the stripped cable into the retainer and crimp securely.

Working Logic

The transfer switch allows switching between grid, inverter, and generator/alternator as power sources. Grid power is pass-through when available. If operating with vehicle alternators, there's a 20-30 second delay for voltage stabilization before transfer. The switch works seamlessly with 120V AC home generators.

Switching Between the Grid and an Inverter

The switch prioritizes grid power. If grid power fails, the inverter automatically takes over.

Switching Between the Grid and a Generator/an Alternator

The switch prioritizes grid power. If grid power fails, the generator/alternator automatically takes over.

Switching Between the Grid, a Generator/an Alternator, and an Inverter

This configuration requires two transfer switches. The first connects grid and generator/alternator. The second links the first switch to the inverter. The system prioritizes grid power. If grid power is insufficient, the generator/alternator is used. If the generator/alternator shuts down, the inverter supplies power.

Maintenance

Perform regular inspections:

  • Examine the transfer switch housing and terminals for cleanliness, dryness, and absence of corrosion.
  • Check cables and connections. Replace damaged cables and tighten loose connections.

[NOTE] Corrosion around terminals can increase resistance and cause poor contact. Applying insulation grease to terminals is recommended to form a moisture-resistant seal and protect them from corrosion.

Important Safety Instructions

The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by:

  • Force majeure (fire, typhoon, flood, earthquake, war, terrorism).
  • Misuse, abuse, neglect, improper maintenance, or use under abnormal conditions.
  • Improper installation, operation, or peripheral device malfunction.
  • Contamination with hazardous substances or radiation.
  • Alterations without manufacturer's written consent.
  • Wear proper protective equipment and use insulated tools. Do not wear jewelry or metal objects.
  • Keep the transfer switch out of reach of children.
  • Dispose of the transfer switch according to local laws and regulations, using recycling channels.
  • In case of fire, use a FM-200 or CO2 fire extinguisher.
  • Do not expose to flammable or harsh chemicals or vapors.
  • Clean the transfer switch regularly. Turn off all power sources before cleaning and ensure it is completely dry before restoring power. Do not clean the interior.
