Getting Started

Step 01: Download and Install the Timekettle App

Open your mobile app store, download, and install the Timekettle app. Ensure your phone meets the compatibility requirements: Android 7 or higher, iOS 12 or higher.

Notes:

• Do not connect the earbuds via Bluetooth in your phone's settings. You must connect them directly within the Timekettle app. The WT2 Edge will not appear in your phone's Bluetooth settings.
• The WT2 Edge is designed for translation purposes only, not for phone calls or music playback.
• Speak clearly and loudly for the best translation accuracy. Avoid slang and less common words.
• If translations are inaccurate, try rephrasing your sentences.

Step 02: Bluetooth Connection

Open the Timekettle app, select WT2 Edge, and turn on Bluetooth. Grant the app necessary system permissions, such as audio recording and location access. Put on the earbuds and ensure the green light is blinking. Click the connect buttons for 'L' and 'R'. If both earbuds show a solid green light, the connection is successful.

Translation Modes

Simultaneous Translation Mode

1. Tap the main menu bar on your phone screen and select 'Simul Mode'.
2. Tap the menu in the top right corner of the phone screen and select the translation languages for the L & R earbuds.
3. Tap 'Confirm'.

How it works: In Simultaneous Translation Mode, you don't need to touch the earbuds or the phone screen. Spoken sentences are automatically recognized and translated into the language of the other person. You can speak continuously, and the translation will be played directly into the other person's earbuds.

Notes:

• Speak clearly and loudly for the best translation accuracy. Avoid slang and less common words.
• Rephrase your speech if the translation is inaccurate.

Touch Mode

1. Tap the main menu bar on your phone screen and select 'Touch Mode'.
2. Tap the menu in the top right corner of the phone screen and select the translation languages for the L & R earbuds.
3. Tap 'Confirm'.

How it works: Activate Touch Mode by touching the sensor area on the earbuds. Tap once to start speaking, and tap again to finish. The translation will be delivered within 1-3 seconds.

Notes:

• Both speakers should speak clearly and loudly for optimal translation accuracy. Avoid slang and less common words.
• Rephrase your speech if the translation is inaccurate.

Touch Area: The touch-sensitive area is located on the earbuds.

Speaker Mode

1. Tap the main menu bar on your phone screen and select 'Speaker Mode'.
2. Tap the menu in the top right corner of the phone screen and select one language for the person wearing the L or R earbud, and the other language for the person speaking into the phone's speaker/microphone.
3. Tap 'Confirm'.

How it works: When speaking, wear the translator earbuds. Translations will be played through your phone's speaker. If the other person wants to speak, they can respond using your phone's microphone.

Notes:

• In Speaker Mode, only one earbud needs to be connected. The other earbud can be placed back in the charging case.
• Speak clearly and loudly for the best translation accuracy. Avoid slang and less common words.
• If translations are inaccurate, try rephrasing your sentences.

Group Chat

The WT2 Edge supports group chat functionality for up to 40 people speaking 40 different languages simultaneously within the same chat group. Simply add people to the chat group, and the WT2 Edge will provide voice-to-text translation for each participant.

1. Tap the main menu bar on your phone screen and select 'Group Chat'.
2. Tap '[Create a group]', '[Copy] Group Code', and '[Join room]' to set the desired languages.
3. Copy the group code and '[Join room]'.
4. Set the desired languages.

Inviting Friends:

1. Enter the group chat, copy the group code, and send it to your friends.
2. Your friends must download the app.
3. Select 'Group Chat'.
4. Paste the group code and tap 'Join room'.

Using Group Chat:

• With Earbuds: Touch the earbud once to start speaking, and touch it again to finish. Your words will appear on the phone screen. Click the sound icon near your partner's spoken words to hear the translation.
• Without Earbuds: Tap the screen after speaking to begin. The app will provide translated text without voice output.
• Typing: Regardless of whether you are wearing earbuds, you can tap the keyboard at the bottom of the app to enter text.

Managing Offline Language Packages

1. Redeem Fish Coins:

• Open the Timekettle app and navigate to 'My Account'.
• Click 'Redeem Fish Cards'.
• Enter the PIN code found on the back of the paper fish card and click 'Redeem'.

2. Download Offline Languages:

• Go back to 'My Account'.
• Click 'Timekettle store'.
• Click 'WT2 Edge translator offline language package' (or other relevant offline packages).
• Redeem the desired offline language package and confirm.
• Return to the 'WT2 Edge translator offline language package' section and download the package you just redeemed.

3. Using Offline Translation:

• Enter 'Simul Mode' (or another mode) and ensure the selected language matches the offline language package you downloaded.
• Click the 'Settings' icon in the top right corner of the app.
• Turn on the 'Offline translation' toggle.
• Turn off your phone's network to start using offline translation.

Understanding Settings ⚙️

• Rotate (A): Determines the direction of subtitles on the top half of the screen (up or down).
• Font size (TT): Adjusts the font size of the text displayed on the screen.
• Sensitivity: Controls the volume required to activate voice recognition. A lower value requires higher volume; a higher value requires lower volume. For noisy environments, increase sensitivity (e.g., 30-100). For quiet environments, decrease sensitivity (e.g., 1-8).
• Offline translation (?): Enables offline translation when no network is available. Requires downloading offline language packages beforehand.
• Text only no audio (?): Displays translated content in the app but does not play audio output.
• Pause time (| |): Adjusts the pause time between spoken phrases. If the pause is longer than the set time, it's recognized as a new sentence. If shorter, it continues the current sentence.
• Volume setting: Adjusts the playback volume of the audio.

History ?

Access the recording history by tapping the menu in the top left corner. Recordings are displayed chronologically, with the latest conversations at the top. Each mode's history can be identified by its icon.

• Tap the top right corner of the phone screen to delete recorded conversations or save them as favorites.
• Press and hold a conversation to export it by copying the text or sending it via email.

Text Translation ?

1. Tap the menu in the top left corner and select 'Text Translation'.
2. In the top right corner, select the languages for translation.
3. Enter the text to be translated in the text field and tap the checkmark (√) in the top right corner.

Access 'Contact Us' from the menu in the top left corner. Enter your issues and suggestions for product improvement. You can then send feedback via email by navigating to the top right corner.
