Timekettle WT2 Edge User Manual
Welcome to the user manual for the Timekettle WT2 Edge. This guide will help you set up and use your translation earbuds.
Downloading the App
1. Access your mobile device's app store and download the Timekettle app. Ensure your device's OS version is Android 7 or above, or iOS 12 or above, before downloading.
Important Notes
- Do not directly connect the earbuds to your phone's Bluetooth settings. The WT2 Edge will not be discoverable there.
- The WT2 Edge is designed for translation only; it cannot be used for calls or music playback.
- For accurate translations, speak clearly and loudly. Avoid slang and low-frequency words.
- If a translation is inaccurate, try rephrasing your sentence.
WT2 Edge - Pairing
- Select your model and proceed with pairing.
- Turn on Bluetooth and location services.
- Take the earbuds out of the charging case and click '+' to find the earbuds you wish to pair.
Connecting Earbuds:
- When prompted that "Timekettle" wants to use Bluetooth, tap 'OK'.
- The app requires Bluetooth access permission for voice conversion.
- Simultaneous Translation Mode: Wear one earbud each. This allows for hands-free communication and easy conversation.
- Listening Mode: Hold your phone's microphone close to the speaker. Wear an earbud to hear the translation.
- Speaker Mode: One person wears both earbuds, sharing the translation with the other.
- Touch Mode: Both users wear earbuds. Tap the earbud or microphone to switch speakers.
Connecting New Devices
4. Once you find the left and right earbuds under 'New Connection', tap 'Connect' for each. After successful connection, tap 'Confirm' to return to the home screen.
Important Notes:
- To find and pair earbuds, you must enable Bluetooth and location permissions in the Timekettle app.
- If 'New Connection' does not pop up automatically, simply tap '+' to access it.
WT2 Edge - Simultaneous Translation Mode
- Each person wears one earbud, then tap 'Simultaneous Translation Mode'.
- Set the language for each earbud.
3. Tap the microphone button to start the conversation. You can have a natural and smooth conversation without tapping screen indicators or earbud lights. Press the wave icon lightly before returning to the 'Home' page to pause.
4. Swipe left or right to switch between face-to-face and side-by-side display. Side-by-side display is recommended when two people are standing together. Face-to-face display is recommended when two people are facing each other.
Usage Tips:
- In Simultaneous Translation Mode, each person should wear only one earbud, not both.
- To prevent your earbud from recognizing the other person's speech, maintain a distance of approximately 1 meter between the two individuals.
WT2 Edge - Listening Mode
- Wear one earbud and tap 'Listening Mode'. (In this mode, if one earbud is already connected, do not return it to the charging case. If an earbud is not connected before use, it will be returned to the charging case.)
- Set your language and the smartphone user's language.
3. Tap the microphone button to capture audio and bring your smartphone closer to the audio source.
4. Tapping the ripple icon will pause the translation and return you to the 'Home' screen.
WT2 Edge - Touch Mode
- Each person wears one earbud and taps 'Touch Mode'.
- Set the language for each earbud.
3. Before starting a conversation, both parties must click the microphone button corresponding to their language, or tap the indicator light on their earbud. This is necessary to begin speech.
WT2 Edge - Speaker Mode
- Each person wears one earbud and taps 'Speaker Mode'.
- Set your language and the smartphone user's language.
- Before starting a conversation, both parties need to click the microphone button for their respective languages to begin speaking. (Those wearing earbuds can also click the indicator light.)

Settings for Simultaneous/Listening/Speaker/Touch Modes
Font Size: Adjust the font size on the translation page.
Translate Audio: Choose whether to play audio after translation is complete.
Pause Duration: Adjust the pause duration between clauses to ensure accurate clause segmentation based on your speaking rhythm.
Purchasing Offline Translation Language Packages
Charging:
- First, deposit funds into your account. If you have a Fish card, use it to charge. If not, choose WeChat Pay, Google in-app purchase, or Apple in-app purchase.
Charging Your Fish Card:
- Go to 'Me' > 'Redeem Fish Card' and click to enter the Fish card redemption page.
2. Scratch the coating on your Fish card and enter the PIN code, then click 'Redeem'. Upon successful redemption, your account's Fish coin balance will be updated.
Important Notes:
- This card can only be exchanged for Fish coins, not cash or credit.
- This card is non-transferable and cannot be reissued if lost or stolen.
- This card is valid only in the Timekettle store and has no expiration date.
Charging via WeChat Pay/Google/Apple In-App Purchase:
- Go to 'Me' > 'Charge' to access the Fish card purchase page.
- Select the desired points and click 'Charge'.
3. Click 'Charge', enter your app store account login password, and click 'Double-click to pay'.
4. Upon successful charge, a confirmation screen will appear, and your Fish coin balance will be updated.
Notes:
- When you first enter the purchase page, you may need to wait for the charge amount to load. If the amount does not load correctly within a certain time, check your network connection or exit and re-enter the page.
- If your account balance is not updated immediately after charging, please wait a while. If it remains unupdated for an extended period, navigate back to the balance page. If the balance still does not update after trying these methods, please contact customer service.
Activating Offline Translation Language Packages
Once you have successfully purchased and downloaded an offline translation language package, enable the 'Offline Translation' switch in the center of the app's home page.
- Select the required translation mode.
- Enable 'Offline Translation' to begin offline translation.
Note: Before enabling 'Offline Translation', set the source language for the app in your chosen translation mode.
Purchasing Offline Translation Language Packages
With sufficient balance, you can purchase offline translation language packages.
- Go to 'Me' > 'Offline Translation Pack' and click to proceed to the purchase page.
- Verify that the earbud model displayed on the page matches your earbud model. Offline language packages are model-specific.
3. Click the cart icon to purchase the offline translation language package.
4. Confirm your earbud model and the offline translation. Select the required offline language packages. After confirmation, tap 'Purchase' to complete the purchase.
5. Once the purchase is complete, tap 'Download Now' to download the offline translation language package.
6. When the download screen shows a checkmark, the download is complete.
