Connecting Your Devices

The AeroCaster Switcher allows you to connect various devices to create your live stream. You can connect up to five source devices, including satellite cameras (iPhones using the AeroCaster Camera app), the built-in camera on your iPad, and web browsers (computers or smartphones).

Device Connection Diagram:

The system involves a Wi-Fi router connecting an iPad and a computer. An iPhone can connect as a satellite camera via Wi-Fi. A computer can also connect via USB cable to a video switcher.

Note: An internet connection is required for activation and when using web browser sources. An internet connection is not required when using a satellite camera.

Activating the AeroCaster Switcher App

The AeroCaster Switcher app requires activation before use. The activation screen appears upon the first launch.

Getting Ready:

Activation Steps:

  1. Launch the AeroCaster Switcher app on your iPad and tap "Activation Start."
  2. An activation link will be displayed.
  3. From your computer's web browser, open the displayed link and click the "Device check and authenticate" button.
  4. Once activation is complete, the iPad screen will update, allowing you to use the AeroCaster Switcher app.

Tip: You can send the activation link to your computer using AirDrop (for Mac) or via email.

Select videos to output from MEDIA, SCENE, or INPUT.

Output Menu

CAMERA and TRANSITION Menus

These menus contain settings for cameras assigned to CAM1-5 and video transition effects. Tap the "CAMERA" or "TRANSITION" tab to switch.

Switches between cut, mix, and wipe effects. Tap ">" to edit settings.

Inputting Video

Inputting Video from the Built-in Camera (INPUT)

  1. Tap INPUT " + " (CAM1-5) and select "Built-in Camera" from the list.
  2. The input source is assigned.

Configuring the Built-in Camera:

  1. Tap the input source and then tap the "CAMERA" tab.
  2. Configure camera settings using the items in each menu.

Deleting an Input Source:

  1. Long-press the input source and tap "Delete."

Changing the Order of Input Sources:

  1. Long-press the input source and tap "Reorder."
  2. Tap and hold the " $\equiv$ " icon, drag it to the desired position, and tap "Done."

Inputting Video from a Satellite Camera (INPUT)

Use your iPhone as a satellite camera. Up to four devices can send camera video to the AeroCaster Switcher app. Assign the video input to INPUT CAM1–5.

Note: Both the iPhone and iPad must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Getting Ready:

  1. Launch the AeroCaster Camera app on the iPhone.
  2. Launch the AeroCaster Switcher app on the iPad.
  3. Tap INPUT " + " (CAM1–5) and select the satellite camera's name from the list.
  4. The input source is assigned.

Configuring the Satellite Camera:

  1. Tap the input source and then tap the "CAMERA" tab.
  2. Configure camera settings using the items in each menu.

Inputting Video from a Computer or Smartphone (INPUT)

Send video from your computer or smartphone (Android OS or iOS) to the AeroCaster Switcher app via a web browser. You can also share your computer's screen.

Note: The iPad and computer/smartphone must be connected to the Internet and the same Wi-Fi network. Supported browser: Google Chrome (latest version recommended).

  1. Tap INPUT " + " (CAM1-5) and select "Add Web Browser (PC/ Mobile) source" from the list.
  2. On the web browser of your computer or smartphone, open the link shown in the "Add Browser Source" dialog box.
  3. Click the "Open Video Input Device" button, select a video device, and click "Select." To share your screen, click "Start Screen Capture," select content, and click "Share" (computers only).
  4. Click the "Connect" button. The video will be shown as a preview.
  5. The input source is assigned.

Note: Click the "Hang up" button in your web browser to remove the input source assignment.

Assigning Images and Video on Your iPad (MEDIA)

Register images and videos stored on your iPad to use as video sources.

  1. Tap MEDIA " + " and then tap "Image" or "Video."
  2. The list of images and videos appears. Tap the desired items to register. For images, tap "Add."
  3. The images or videos are registered.

Deleting Media:

Registering the Screen Layout (SCENE)

Register screen layouts with DSK or PinP composition as "scenes" to combine and output multiple videos. Selecting a scene during a video transition will switch to the registered layout.

Tap SCENE " + " and select a screen layout from the menu.

DSK (OVERLAY)

Use DSK (downstream keyer) for composites with text and video.

COMPOSITION

Composite multiple input videos into a single screen.

Tap the items in each menu to edit settings, then tap "Save."

Switching the Video

Switching After Checking the Video in Preview

  1. Turn the "[to PGM directly]" switch off.
  2. Tap the video source (MEDIA, SCENE, or INPUT) you want to output. The selected video appears in the preview area.

One-touch Switching (PGM Direct Mode)

In this mode, the output video switches immediately upon selection.

  1. Turn the "[to PGM directly]" switch on.
  2. Tap the video source (MEDIA, SCENE, or INPUT) you want to output. The view switches to the final output video.
  3. Tap the "[TAKE]" button. The view switches the final output video.

Selecting a Scene:

For scenes, you can select one composition scene and two DSK scenes simultaneously.
