Sinotrack ST-901 GPS Tracker User Manual & Setup Guide (3G/4G)

Quick Start

Thank you for purchasing a Sinotrack GPS tracker. This quick user guide explains how to operate the device smoothly and correctly.

Website Tracking (PC Version)

Access the tracking platform at www.sinotrackpro.com or http://45.112.204.245.

User Name: ID number located on the tracker.
Password: 123456 (default).

The platform interface typically shows fields for User (ID of Tracker), Password, and Language (English). There are options to save password, view a demo, and log in.

Application Tracking (Mobile APP)

Search for "SinoTrack PRO" on the APP Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Alternatively, download via the QR code (not included here, but typically found in the manual).

Server: SinoTrackPRO
User Name: ID number on tracker
Password: 123456 (default)

For managing multiple Sinotrack GPS trackers under one account, contact Sinotrack for account creation.

Initial Setup Steps

Choose GSM Card: Use a Normal SIM card without a PIN code. The device supports Normal SIM (ST-901), Micro SIM (ST-901W), and Nano SIM (ST-901W, not supported).
Open Cover: Open the top cover of the tracker by screw.
Insert GSM Card: Properly insert the GSM card. The tracker will start when connected to an external power supply.
Outdoor Placement: Place the device outdoors for approximately 30 seconds. LED lights will remain lit, indicating normal operation.
Dial Device Number: Dial the device's number. It will hang up and reply with a tracking message containing valid longitude and latitude.
Set APN via SMS: Send an SMS to the tracker to set the Access Point Name (APN). The yellow place in the command is blank and should be replaced with your APN.SMS: 8030000 APN (Replace APN with your SIM card provider's APN). If your APN requires a username and password, use:SMS: 8030000 APN APNuser APNpassword
Set Server via SMS: Send an SMS to set the tracker to the Sinotrack server.SMS: 8040000 45.112.204.245 8090
Online Tracking Check: After successful setup, the device should be trackable online. If not, send RCONF to the device to check settings: APN, IP/Port, ID on platform, and working mode (SMS or GPRS).

LED Status

Status	Meaning
Blue LED (GPS Status)
Flashing	No GPS Signal or GPS starting
ON	GPS OK
Orange LED (GSM Status)
Flashing	No SIM card or GSM starting
ON	GSM OK

Default Password: 0000

Default Mode: Normal working (ACC Mode).

GPS Status Indicators: 'A' means location acquired, 'V' means invalid location.

Alarm Mode: When alarm mode is on, alarms are sent to the 3 control numbers.

Battery Level: Represented by a scale of 1 to 5: 5 (100%), 4 (80%), 3 (60%), 2 (40%), 1 (20%). A low battery alarm is sent when the battery is at level 1.

Installation

GPS Antenna Placement: The GPS antenna side should face a clear sky. Avoid placing it under metal; glass and plastic are acceptable.
Wiring Connections: The tracker has three wires for connection:
- Red Wire: Connects to the battery (12V-24V).
- Black Wire: Connects to ground.
- Orange Wire (ACC): Connects to the ignition key (ACC ON/OFF).

Functions (SMS Commands)

The ST-901 supports both SMS and GPRS working modes. Commands are sent via SMS to the tracker's SIM card number.

1. Set Control Number

Sets the primary, second, and third control numbers for receiving alarms and messages.

Command: Number+pass+blank+serial
Example: 139504434650000 1 (Sets 13950443465 as the first control number with password 0000).
Reply: SET OK

2. Working Mode

Choose between SMS mode (for mobile control and Google location via SMS) or GPRS mode (for real-time online monitoring and long-term data storage).

SMS Mode Command: 700+Password (e.g., 7000000)
GPRS Mode Command (Default): 710+Password (e.g., 7100000)
Reply: SET OK

3. Change Password

Changes the tracker's password.

Command: 777+New Password+Old password
Example: 77712340000 (Changes password from 0000 to 1234).
Reply: SET OK

4. Get Location with Google Link

Retrieves the tracker's current GPS location as a Google Maps link.

Command: 669+password (e.g., 6690000)
Reply: A Google Maps link with coordinates, date, time, ID, status, speed, and battery level.

5. Get Location by Phone Call

Call the SIM card in the tracker to receive a Google Maps link via SMS. If the tracker is in an invalid location, it will send the last valid location and then a new one once acquired.

6. Change Time Zone

Sets the time zone for the tracker.

Command: 896+password+E/W+HH (E for East, W for West, HH for hours offset 00-23)
Example: 8960000E00 (Default, +0 time zone)
Example: 8960000E02 (+2 time zone)
Reply: SET OK

7. Send Location in Defined Time

Configures the tracker to send its location to the first control number at a specified daily time.

Command: 665+password+HHMM (HH for hour 00-23, MM for minute 00-59)
Example: 66500001219 (Sends location at 12:19 daily)
Close Function Command: 665+password+OFF (e.g., 6650000OFF)
Reply: SET OK

8. Geo Fence Alarm

Sets a virtual boundary. An alarm is sent to the first control number if the tracker moves outside this area.

Open Geo Fence Command: 211+password (e.g., 2110000)
Close Geo Fence Command: 210+password (e.g., 2100000)
Set Geo Fence Command: 005+password Radius (Radius in meters, suggested >1000m)
Example: 0050000 1000 (Sets a 1000-meter geo-fence with password 0000)
Reply: SET OK

9. Over Speed Alarm

Sends an alarm to control numbers if the tracker exceeds a set speed limit.

Command: 122+password+Blank+XXX (XXX is speed in KM/H, 0-999. 0 disables the alarm.)
Example: 1220000 120 (Sets speed limit to 120 KM/H with password 0000)
Reply: SET OK

10. Mileage

Allows setting an initial mileage and reading the current total mileage.

Set Initial Mileage Command: 142+Password<+M+X> (X is initial mileage in meters)
Example: 1420000M1000 (Sets initial mileage to 1000 meters with password 0000)
Reply: MILEAGE RESET OK or SET OK, CURRENT: XXXX
Read Current Mileage Command: 143+password (e.g., 1430000)
Reply: CURRENT TOTAL MILEAGE:XX. (XX is mileage in meters)

11. Shock Alarm

Sends an SMS alarm to the first control number upon detecting a shock.

Open Shock Alarm Command: 181+password+T (T is shocking time in seconds, 0-120)
Example: 1810000T10 (Sets shock alarm with 10-second sensitivity with password 0000)
Close Shock Alarm Command: 180+password (e.g., 1800000)
Reply: SET OK

12. Low Battery Alarm

Sends an SMS alarm to the first control number when the battery is low (at level 1, 20%).

13. ACC On/Off Alarm

Sends an alarm via SMS or phone call when the ACC (ignition) is turned on or off.

Open ACC On Alarm (SMS): 886+password (e.g., 8860000)
Close ACC On Alarm (SMS): 887+password (e.g., 8870000)
Open ACC On Alarm (Phone Call): 888+password (e.g., 8880000)
Close ACC On Alarm (Phone Call): 889+password (e.g., 8890000)
Reply: SET OK

14. Call Mode

Determines if alarms trigger a phone call in addition to SMS messages.

Call Mode On Command: 150+password (e.g., 1500000)
Call Mode Off Command: 151+password (e.g., 1510000)
Reply: SET OK

15. Set APN (Advanced)

Configures the Access Point Name for internet connectivity.

Command 1 (APN only): 803+password+Blank+APN (e.g., 8030000 INTERNET)
Command 2 (APN with User/Pass): 803+password+Blank+ APN+Blank+ APN user+Blank+ APN pass (e.g., 8030000 INTERNET INTERNET INTERNET for APN 'INTERNET' with user 'INTERNET' and pass 'INTERNET')
Example for MTS SIM: 8030000 internet.mts.ru mts mts
Reply: SET OK

16. Set IP and Port

Configures the server IP address and port for GPRS communication.

Command: 804+password+Blank+IP+Blank+Port
Example: 8040000 45.112.204.245 8090
Reply: SET OK

17. Set Time Interval

Sets the frequency for GPRS data uploads when ACC is on or off. Minimum interval is 10 seconds.

ACC On Time Interval (Default 20s): 805+password+Blank+T (T in seconds, 0-18000. T=0 closes GPRS.)
Example: 8050000 20
ACC Off Time Interval (Default 180s): 809+password+Blank+T (T in seconds, 0-18000. T=0 closes GPRS.)
Example: 8090000 180
Reply: SET OK

1. RESTART

Restarts the tracker.

Command: RESTART

2. RCONF

Reads the current configuration of the tracker.

Command: RCONF

Explanation of Reply Fields:
- ST901: Software version
- ID: Tracker ID (e.g., 8160528336)
- UP: Password (default 0000)
- U1, U2, U3: First, second, and third control numbers
- MODE: Working mode (GPRS is default)
- DAILY: Daily time report (default off)
- GEO FENCE: Geo Fence status (default off)
- OVER SPEED: Over speed alarm status (default off)
- VOICE: Call mode status (default on)
- SHAKE ALARM: Shock alarm status (default off)
- SLEEP MODE: Sleep mode status (default off)
- APN: Access Point Name (INTERNET is default)
- IP: Server IP address and Port (e.g., 45.112.204.245:8090)
