Bait Hopper and Rear/Bottom Lock
Operation:
- When both the transmitter and receiver of the boat are turned on, rotate the knob on the transmitter to C. The bait hopper and the rear lock are both opened.
- Attach a metal ring to the fishing line. Place the metal ring on the rear lock. Rotate the knob from C to A. The rear lock pin will be extended out to lock the metal ring.
- NOTE: This arrangement is used to release the hook. So, when the boat takes line out, the tension force is on the rear lock.
- Put the hook in the hopper through the bottom of the hopper door, first close the left flap (1) and then the right flap (2).
- Pull the fishing line through the hole of the hopper flap. Push the lock down (3).
- Put bait inside the hopper. Rotate the knob from A to C; the hopper door and rear lock will be opened to release bait and hook.
GPS Autopilot
Setup:
- Switch on the transmitter power first. Then connect the battery with the receiver plug inside the boat. The TX red light and RX green light will both turn on (indicating that the transmitter and boat are working).
- Wait for the GPS-ON green light to start flashing. (Remarks: It takes about 3-5 minutes, depending on circumstances). This indicates that the GPS mode on the receiver is working.
Original Point Setup & One Button Return Function
Setting the Original Point:
- Control the boat to a spot 10 meters away from the shore. This location will be the original point that you need to set up.
- Press the GPS-ON button on the transmitter for longer than 5 seconds. The green LED will change from flashing to solid on; the original point is saved (it is also the home point).
Returning to Original Point:
- After the boat has driven to the desired location, press the GPS-ON button for 1 second. The GPS-RETURN green light will be solid on. The boat will return to the original point automatically. When the boat has returned, you will hear a beep sound on the TX, and the GPS-RETURN indicator will turn off.
Control Priority: When the boat is in automatic return status, if you pull or push the trigger or rotate the wheel, the boat will cancel the return automatically and turn to be controlled by human. To start automatic return again, you need to press the GPS-ON button for over 1 second again.
Fail-Safe Function
If the boat is out of control range, or you cannot see the boat in the lake, switch off the transmitter power. After 30 seconds, the Fail-Safe function will activate, and the boat will be driven by autopilot to the original point you set up. If you can see the boat or the boat is within the control range, switch on the transmitter and steer the boat back to shore.
Fishing Spot Marking Function
Marking a Fishing Spot:
- After the RC boat has driven to a location where you want to mark as the first fishing spot, press any one of the 4 GPS POSITIONING buttons for over 5 seconds. The green light will be solid on (you have now set up the first fishing spot).
- You can set up 4 different fishing spots by pressing the corresponding GPS POSITIONING button for over 5 seconds.
Returning to a Marked Fishing Spot:
- If you want the boat to return to the marked fishing spot, press the GPS POSITIONING button for over 1 second. The relevant red light will be solid on, and the boat will go to the marked fishing spot by GPS autopilot.
Indicating Arrival: When the boat arrives at the spot by GPS autopilot, the boat stops, the red light turns off, and the transmitter makes a beep sound to indicate the boat has arrived at the marked fishing spot.
Canceling a Marked Spot: If you want to cancel a marked spot, press the corresponding button for over 5 seconds. Then the green light turns off, indicating that the fishing spot has been cancelled.
NOTE: If you are fishing in a new location, you need to cancel all the marked fishing spots and the original point that you previously set up in the last fishing location.
Low Voltage Warning
When the transmitter and RC boat are both powered on, the four green lights on the transmitter turn on.
When the battery power is running low, the 4 green lights will flash, the transmitter will make a sound, and the front and rear navigation lights will flash to remind you to drive the boat back and recharge the battery.
NOTE: When the BATT.INDICATOR lights flash, the boat battery still has some power, allowing you to drive the boat at least 600 meters.
Important Usage Tips
- Setting up the original point is very critical and is the basis for the GPS one-button return and fail-safe functions. Before you use your boat for bait delivery, you should first set up the original point. Refer to the manual under the chapter GPS Autopilot for the correct setup. Neglecting this means the boat cannot utilize the GPS one-button return and fail-safe functions.
- The transmitter is not waterproof; keep your transmitter away from water. Otherwise, you will lose control of the boat.
- When driving the boat with the transmitter, keep the transmitter at a height of over 1 meter above the water surface. This ensures better radio range and a better receiving signal. The higher, the better.
- The transmitter range is approximately 500 meters (depending on weather and conditions). Transmitter and receiver transmit bidirectionally. The receiver's transmission range is 300 meters (depending on weather and conditions). When the boat is out of the 300-meter range with the transmitter, the LED lights on the transmitter "BATT.INDICATOR" and GPS autopilot function lights will likely be flashing or turn off. If you hold your transmitter higher, you can improve the receiver's transmission range, and the LED lights might turn on again. (NOTE: The transmitter still works properly with the boat within a 500-meter radio range.)
- After use in saltwater, the boat and all metal parts must be rinsed with fresh water. This prevents the metal parts from rusting. After each use, open the hatch and let it air dry.
Radio Hanger
The triangular hanger and screws are included in the accessory bag. Use the hanger to hang the remote control around your neck with a ribbon or hang it on the holder for the fishing rod.
Troubleshooting
If you have replaced the remote control, receiver, or motor, you cannot use the boat immediately. Perform the following procedure to bind the remote control to the receiver, assign a new transmitter ID, and calibrate the ESC.
Transmitter Calibration
- Remote control and boat must be switched off.
- Press and hold the ST/R and GPS ON buttons.
- Switch on the remote control. The indicator lights BATT.INDICATOR, GPS ON, and GPS RETURN will light up. Release the buttons after five seconds. Switch off the remote control.
Setup New Transmitter ID
- The remote control and the boat must be switched off.
- Press and hold the ST/R button.
- Switch on the remote control; the GPS RETURN LED will light up. Release the button after five seconds; the LED will turn off. Switch off the remote control.
Transmitter & Receiver Bind with Boat
- Remote control and boat must be switched off.
- Press and hold the ST/L button.
- Switch on the remote control until the GPS ON LED flashes. Release the ST/L button.
- Connect the battery to the ESC. The BATT.INDICATOR and RX LED will light up. Now the remote control and the receiver are bound.
ESC Calibration
- Pull the throttle lever all the way back and hold it. Switch on the remote control; the TX ON LED lights up.
- Connect the battery to the ESC.
- You will hear the following sound groups:
- Di-Di, Di-Di, Di-Di, Di-Di
- De-De-De-De, De-De-De-De, (Release the throttle between the second and third sound)
- De-De-De-De, De-De-De-De
- Release the throttle between the second and third sound. The BATT.INDICATOR and RX LED will light up. You will then hear the DE DEEE calibration confirmation sound. If the ESC does not play this confirmation sound, you must perform the calibration again.
Important Note on ESC Calibration
If you release the throttle stick between the first and second sound, or between the third and fourth sound, you may still hear the correct confirmation tone. However, the ESC will not be calibrated correctly. Please note that you should only release the lever between the third and fourth sound.
Motor Reverse
If you have installed a new brushless motor, check whether the motor turns correctly. You can tell this when the propeller blows air backward. If this is not the case, two of the three cables from the motor to the ESC must be replaced.
