KE2 Service Tool App - Apple iOS Dongle

The following steps will allow you to access your controller with the KE2 Service Tool App when plugging directly into an Ethernet based KE2 Therm controller with your Apple iOS phone or tablet.
Note: Use only KE2 Therm tested dongles. Results will vary with untested dongles. Actual dongle may vary from the dongle pictured above.

Step 1: Find the Controller's IP Address
Use the controller display to look up and make note of the IP address of the controller. The IP address is in the Variables menu.
If display looks like this:
Use the UP arrow [↑] to navigate to P1, press ENTER. Make note of the number displayed.
Press BACK, repeat for P2, P3, and P4 to record the full IP address.
If display looks like this:
Use the UP [↑] or DOWN [↓] arrow to navigate to VARIABLES MENU.
Press ENTER to display MAIN BOARD, press ENTER again.
Use the UP [↑] or DOWN [↓] arrow to navigate to IP OCTET 1, press ENTER. Make note of the number displayed.
Press BACK, repeat for IP OCTET 2, IP OCTET 3, and IP OCTET 4 to record the full IP address.
If display looks like this:
Use the UP [↑] or DOWN [↓] arrow to navigate to BOARD VARIABLES.
Press ENTER to display MAIN BOARD, press ENTER again.
Use the UP [↑] or DOWN [↓] arrow to navigate to IP OCTET 1, press ENTER. Make note of the number displayed.
Press BACK, repeat for IP OCTET 2, IP OCTET 3, and IP OCTET 4 to record the full IP address.
Note: Ignore any zeros at the beginning of each IP address octet. Ex. if number looked up was 010.010.049.119, then the IP address is 10.10.49.119.
Step 2: Connect the Dongle and Cable
Plug the dongle into your phone or tablet, then plug an Ethernet cable into the dongle and controller.
Step 3: Configure the IP Address on your iOS Device
Navigate to the settings for your iOS device and configure the IP address:
- ACCESS SETTINGS [⚙️]
- ETHERNET [➡️]
- INTERFACE: USB 10/100 LAN [➡️]
- IPV4 ADDRESS: CONFIGURE IP [➡️]
- CHECK MANUAL [✔️]
MANUAL IP:
Input the IP address of the controller, changing only the last octet. Ex. if controller IP address is 10.10.49.119, use 10.10.49.252.
Use 255.255.0.0 for the subnet mask.
If router IP address is required, use the same IP address as used above. Click Save.
Step 4: Access the Controller
Open the KE2 Therm Service Tool app. Your controller will appear automatically within a few moments. Tap on the controller tile to access the service webpage of the controller.
Congratulations! Your iOS device should remember the Ethernet settings, so the next time you plug into the controller with your phone or tablet, just open the app.
If connecting to new controllers, it may be necessary to change the Ethernet settings depending on the controller IP address. If controller does not appear on the app, repeat steps 1-4.
