Schwaiger SOKW6420 Compact Solar Energy System
Operating Instructions and Safety Information
Introduction
Congratulations on purchasing the Schwaiger SOKW6420 Compact Solar Energy System. This user manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your system. Please read these instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
Intended Use
This compact solar energy system is designed for generating electricity from sunlight. It consists of two 420W bifacial solar panels and a WiFi inverter.
Before Installation
- Check with your landlord or homeowners' association if installation is permitted.
- Verify local building authority regulations, especially regarding monument protection or preservation orders.
- Ensure the system is not installed higher than four meters above traffic areas if people may be underneath.
- Confirm that no other solar power system is already connected to the final circuit to avoid overloading.
- Note the dimensions of the modules and ensure adequate space is available.
Current Limiting
An electrician must verify and potentially adjust protective devices (fuses) to meet connection requirements. For installations with circuit breakers, only use plug-in solar devices with a nominal current of up to 2.6 amperes unless an electrician checks cable reserves.
The formula for current limiting is: Iz = In + Ig
Where:
- Iz: Current carrying capacity of the conductors of the final circuit.
- In: Rated current of the protective devices of the final circuit.
- Ig: Rated output current of the power generation device.
ATTENTION! The input socket and circuit in the electrical distributor must be permanently labeled with the maximum permissible value for Ig.
Before Starting Up
- All electrical work must be performed by a qualified electrician.
- Inform your electricity grid operator about the connection. Check if your meter is suitable; a meter without a backstop must be replaced. A two-way meter may be required.
- Refer to your energy supplier's terms and conditions for any specific requirements, such as installing an energy socket.
- Find your grid operator's address at https://störungsauskunft.de.
ATTENTION! Always observe applicable building regulations during installation.
Bifacial Solar Modules
These modules feature photoactive cells on both sides, enhancing photovoltaic efficiency. The solar cells convert sunlight falling on the back of the module into solar power, increasing overall efficiency and yield.
Assembly Instructions
Step 1: Fix the solar module bracket with M8*20 screws/nuts. Ensure L1 and L2 components are correctly positioned.
Step 2: Tighten screws with a spanner. Protect the solar panel from scratches during installation.
Step 3: Fasten the solar panel bracket and the solar panel with M6*20 bolts/nuts. Ensure symmetrical installation and level placement.
Step 4: Fix the solar panel bracket with M6*20 screws/nuts. Protect the solar panel from scratches.
Installation Diagram for Two Solar Modules: The diagram shows the connection of two solar modules to the inverter, including the recommended installation position of the micro inverter and the use of rubber shock absorbers.
Assembly Moulds: The system can be mounted vertically or at a 30° angle.
NOTE: Two people are required for installation. Secure the module against falling. Mount rubber shock absorbers according to your balcony railing to prevent damage.
Connection Diagram
The diagram illustrates the connection of the two solar modules to the inverter. The inverter connects to the solar panels via MC4 connectors (Panel 1 and Panel 2) and to the household power outlet via a 5m connection cable with a Type F plug (Betteri coupler type BC01).
Inverter Details
The inverter (Model: SOWR 1000) features a WLAN antenna, LED status indicators, and connection ports for the solar panels and power output. It is designed for outdoor use (IP67) and operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +65°C.
LED Statuses:
- Standby: Flashes every 2 seconds (RED: Error, ORANGE: No WLAN, GREEN: Faultless).
- Power Generation: Flashes every 1 second (ORANGE: No WLAN, GREEN: Faultless).
- Error Display: Blinking RED (Error, except earthing fault), Blinking ORANGE (No WLAN), Permanent RED (Earthing fault).
