This manual provides instructions for the MOES Apartment Smart Lock, model WDL-R5. Before Installation
- Professional installation is recommended.
- To avoid circuit function faults, do not crumple the cable.
- Keep the door open until installation and lock function tests are complete.
- After installation, check fingerprint, card, password, key, and inside knob unlock functions. Initially, any fingerprint, IC card, or 4-digit password can unlock the door.
- If any function does not work correctly, re-check cable connections and installation steps, then reinstall strictly following the diagrams.
Installation Diagrams
Installation Diagram 1 (Rim Lock)
This diagram illustrates the installation of a rim lock. The parts involved are:

Installation Steps:
- Use screws to fix the buckle plate onto the door.
- Use screws to fix the buckle.
- After installation, test the rim lock knob to ensure the deadbolt fits the buckle slot correctly. Adjust the buckle position if the unlocking operation is not smooth.
Installation Diagram 2 (Mortise Lock)
This diagram illustrates the installation of a mortise lock. The parts involved are:

Installation Steps:
- Open the front panel and insert the lock cylinder (refer to diagrams 7, 8).
- As shown in the diagrams, use the studs to connect the front panel and cylinder panel, then tighten the screws to fix them (refer to diagrams 4, 5, 6).
- Fix the rim mortise on the door, then cover it with the back panel and secure it (refer to diagrams 1, 2, 3).
Function and Operation
Keypad Function Description:
- [*] key: Delete / Back key. Press [*] to delete the input password. Three consecutive [*] operations will clear all input.
- [#] key: Operation confirm key / menu function key.
Administrator Information: Refers to the fingerprint, password, or IC card administrator.
Unlock Information: Refers to registered fingerprint, password, or IC card details (including administrator and user).
Factory Initial Status: The factory initial password is 123456#. Under this status, any fingerprint, IC card, or 4-digit password can unlock the door.
Language Switching: Under factory initial status, switch between Chinese and English by inputting 333666999#.
Lock Function Management Menu: Access by pressing [*#] to verify administrator information, then navigate through menu options.
Menu Navigation Example (Adding Administrator):
- Press [*#] to enter lock function management.
- Voice prompt: ?️ "Please input the administrator info. (123456#)".
- After operation, voice prompt indicates options: "Press 1 for administrator setting; press 2 for user setting; press 3 for system setting, press 4 for restoration setting".
- Press 1 to enter administrator setting.
- Voice prompt: ?️ "Press 1 for administrator setting, press 2 for user setting."
- Press 1 to add an administrator. Register by inputting fingerprint 4 times or password twice (8 digits, e.g., 6666#). Card registration requires one recognition.
- Option to continue adding administrators or press [*] to go back or exit.
Deleting User Information:
- Press [*#] to enter lock function management, then press 2.
- Voice prompt: ?️ "Press 1 to add user; press 2 to delete user."
- Voice prompt for deletion: ?️ "Press 1 to delete number (e.g., input 010# to delete user 010); press 2 to delete all."
- Option to continue deleting other users or press [*] to go back or exit.
System Settings:
- Press [*#] to enter lock function management, then press 3.
- Voice prompt: ?️ "Press 1 for voice setting, press 2 for unlock mode; press 3 for language setting; press 4 for time setting."
- Unlock Mode Setting: Press 2, then voice prompt: ?️ "Press 1 for single unlock, press 2 for combination unlock." Select 1 or 2. Press [*] to go back or exit.
- Language Setting: Press 3, then voice prompt: ?️ "Press 1 for Chinese; press 2 for English." Select 1 or 2. Press [*] to go back or exit.
- Time Setting: Press 4. The lock will report the current date and time. Modify date and time in format YYMMDDHHMMSS (Y-year, M-month, D-date, H-hour, M-minute, S-second).

Remote Control:
- Add administrator (skip if already done).
- Entering Wi-Fi setting menu.
- Press [*#] to verify administrator information.

Connected to the MOES APP
Download MOES App: Download from the App Store or scan the QR code (QR code content excluded).
App Advantages: The MOES application is highly compatible and offers customized services, including Siri integration, widgets, and scene recommendations. While Tuya Smart / Smart Life apps are functional, MOES app is highly recommended.
Registration or Log In:
- Download the "MOES" Application.
- On the Register/Login interface, tap "Register" to create an account using your phone number for a verification code and set a password. Log in if you already have an account.
Connecting the Lock to MOES App:
Method One (EZ Mode - Recommended):
- Press [*#] to verify administrator information.
- Press 1 to enter the administrator setting menu.
- Press 3 to start Wi-Fi setting.
- Voice prompt: ?️ "Press 2 for EZ Mode" (screen indicator light flashes rapidly).
- Connect your phone to Wi-Fi and verify the door lock screen indicator flashes quickly. Click Next. Ensure the lock is awake when adding.
- Follow the instructions in the MOES App: Find "Camera and Lock", press "door lock (Wi-Fi)", and finish adding the lock.
- Enjoy your smart life with home automation.
Method Two (AP Mode):
- Press [*#] to verify administrator information.
- Press 1 to enter the administrator setting menu.
- Press 3 to start Wi-Fi setting.
- Voice prompt: ?️ "Press 1 for AP Mode" (screen indicator light flashes slowly).
- Connect your phone to Wi-Fi, switch to AP Mode, and confirm the lock screen indicator flashes slowly.
- Click Next to connect to the device's hotspot. After successful connection, start searching for devices.
- Follow the instructions in the MOES App: Find "Camera and Lock", press "door lock (Wi-Fi)", and finish adding the lock.
Other Descriptions
- Keypad Lock: 5 incorrect password entries will lock the keypad for 30 seconds, during which the lock will not respond.
- Anti-peeping Password Function: Unlock by inputting random numbers (up to 16 digits) before or after the correct password, ending with the [#] key.
- Low Power Warning: The lock will issue a warning alarm during unlock operations when the voltage is lower than 4.8V. Replace batteries promptly.
- Reset Operation: Press the [SET] button on the back panel for 6 seconds. The screen number 654321 will flash successively. The initial password is 123456.

- Free maintenance is offered for product breakdowns during normal use within the free warranty period.
- The warranty does not cover natural disasters, man-made equipment failures, unauthorized disassembly/repair, lack of a warranty card, or products beyond the free warranty period.
- Third-party commitments (dealers/service providers) beyond the warranty scope must be executed by the third party.
- Keep this warranty card to ensure your rights.
- MOES may update or change products without notice; refer to the official website for updates.
Recycling Information
Products marked with the ♻️ [WEEE symbol] (separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment) must be disposed of separately from municipal waste. Dispose of this equipment at designated collection points to protect health and the environment. Contact the installer or local authority for information on collection points.
