Product Installation
Follow these steps to install the EJEAS Q8 intercom unit onto your helmet:
- Step 1: Attach the main unit to the helmet using the provided clip or adhesive mount. Ensure a secure fit.
- Step 2: Position the microphone boom towards your mouth and attach it to the helmet.
- Step 3: Connect the microphone and speaker cables to the main unit. Secure the speaker inside the helmet.
- Step 4: Route cables neatly along the helmet interior and secure them with adhesive clips if necessary.
- Step 5: Final placement check for comfort and functionality.
Product Operation
Button Description
The EJEAS Q8 features several buttons with multiple functions:
- Click: Short press for immediate action.
- Double Click: Quick successive presses.
- Long Press (1s): Press and hold for approximately 1 second.
- Long Press (2s): Press and hold for approximately 2 seconds.
- Long Press (5s): Press and hold for approximately 5 seconds.
Basic Operation
Powering On/Off: Ensure the device is fully charged before first use.
- Power On: Long press the 'Phone/Power Button' (approx. 1s) until the blue indicator light flashes and a beep sounds. The device enters standby mode with a slowly flashing blue light. Indicator shows slowly flashing blue light, with audible 'beep beep beep'.
- Power Off: Long press the 'Phone/Power Button' and 'Intercom Button' simultaneously until the 'shutdown' sound is heard. The indicator light will turn off. Indicator light turns off, with audible 'shutdown' sound.
- Reset: The device automatically powers off during charging. It can be used while charging after powering on.
Low Battery Warning:
- When the battery is low, the red indicator light flashes twice, and a 'Low battery' voice prompt is played.
- If the battery level is critically low, the device will automatically shut down.
Charging Indicator:
- When charging via USB, the red indicator light remains solid.
- The red light turns off when charging is complete.
Battery Check: The battery status is displayed as an icon on your connected mobile phone via Bluetooth (requires HFP connection).
Mesh Intercom Functions
The EJEAS Q8 utilizes multi-hop technology (470-488MHz) for its mesh network intercom system. This allows for seamless group communication among multiple users without distance limitations, offering superior performance compared to traditional chain-type Bluetooth intercoms with longer transmission distances and better interference resistance.
- Group Communication: Supports communication for up to 6 people across 5 channels. Users can join as listeners without speaking, with no limit on listener numbers.
- Mesh Mic Mute: Short press the 'Intercom Button' to mute or unmute your microphone. Your voice will not be transmitted when muted. Pressing the 'Intercom Button' mutes the microphone. Press again to unmute. Note: This function is exclusive to Mesh Intercom.
- Mesh VOX Sensitivity: The system enters sleep mode when no voice is detected and activates upon speaking. Users can adjust sensitivity (5 levels, default Level 3) to prevent accidental activation or ensure activation with soft voices.
- For high-speed riding, use a lower sensitivity level to avoid wind noise activating the mic.
- For low-speed riding, use a higher sensitivity level to easily activate the mic with quiet speech.
- To cycle sensitivity: Long press the 'Intercom Button' + '+' Button simultaneously. The system cycles through levels 1 to 5. Prompt: '{VOX n}' (where n indicates the level from 1 to 5).
Pairing Process
Team Member Pairing (Mesh Intercom
Follow these steps to pair team members for Mesh Intercom:
- Step 1: Put all transceivers into pairing mode. Long press the 'Intercom Button' (approx. 5s) until the red and green lights flash alternately. You will hear the prompt 'Mesh system pairing'. Red and green lights flash alternately. Prompt: 'Mesh system pairing'.
- Step 2: Select one transceiver as the pairing server. Click the 'Intercom Button'. You will hear a 'beep' sound, and the red and green lights will flash alternately. Red and green lights flash alternately. Prompt: 'Beep'.
After a short wait, all transceivers will announce 'Pairing successful', indicating the pairing is complete. Prompt: 'Pairing successful'.
Subsequently, all transceivers will announce 'Channel n, xxx.x MHz'. You can now communicate with each other.
Reconnecting Mesh Intercom
When powering on again, short press the 'Intercom Button'. You will hear 'Entering Mesh system', followed by 'Channel n, xxx.x MHz', and the intercom will start.
Turning Off Mesh Intercom
To turn off Mesh Intercom, long press the 'Intercom Button' (approx. 1s). You will hear the voice prompt 'Mesh Off'.
Listener Pairing (Mesh Intercom
If other transceivers have already formed a team, you can pair as a listener:
- Step 1: Take a transceiver to be paired. Enter listening mode by long pressing the 'Intercom Button' + '-' Button (approx. 5s). The prompt 'Mesh system listening mode pairing' will be heard, and the red and green lights will flash alternately. Red and green lights flash alternately. Prompt: 'Mesh system listening mode pairing'.
- Step 2: Use the paired transceiver as the server. Enter listening mode by long pressing the 'Intercom Button' + '-' Button (approx. 5s). Note: Unpaired devices can only rejoin via the server. Prompt: 'Mesh system listening mode pairing'.
- Step 3: Short press the 'Intercom Button' again. You will hear a 'beep' sound, and the red and green lights will flash alternately. Red and green lights flash alternately. Prompt: 'Beep'.
After a short wait, all transceivers will announce 'Pairing successful'. Subsequently, all transceivers will announce 'Channel n, xxx.x MHz', indicating you have joined the intercom network and can communicate.
Intercom Channel Switching
There are 5 channels available. Switch between channels by clicking the 'Intercom Button' + '+' Button or '-' Button. Ensure all team members are on the same channel for communication. If the signal is unstable, switching channels may improve call quality.
Prompt: 'Channel n, xxx.x MHz'.
2-Person Bluetooth Intercom Function
Pairing two units for Bluetooth intercom:
- Step 1: After powering on, long press the 'Phone/Power Button' + '+' Button (approx. 5s) until the red and blue lights flash alternately. You will hear the prompt 'Bluetooth intercom pairing'. The device waits for connection with other transceivers. Red and blue lights flash alternately. Prompt: 'Bluetooth intercom pairing'.
- Step 2: Pair the second transceiver using the same procedure. Once both transceivers detect each other, one will initiate the pairing connection.
After a short wait, the connection will be successful. Prompt: 'Pairing successful'. Blue light double flashes.
Pairing with Old Models (V6/V4)
- Step 1: Long press the 'Phone/Power Button' + '+' Button + 'Intercom Button' simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds until the red and blue lights flash alternately. Red and blue lights flash alternately.
- Step 2: The old model (V6/V4) should enter search mode as instructed. Wait for successful pairing.
Intercom Connection/Disconnection:
- Connected: Blue light flashes rapidly. Prompt: 'Bluetooth intercom connected'.
- Disconnected: Prompt: 'Bluetooth intercom disconnected'.
Pairing with Other Brands' Bluetooth Transceivers
Note: Compatibility is not guaranteed for all Bluetooth headsets or transceivers on the market.
- Step 1: Long press the 'Phone/Power Button' + '+' Button simultaneously for about 5 seconds until the red and blue lights flash alternately. You will hear the prompt 'Bluetooth intercom pairing'. Red and blue lights flash alternately. Prompt: 'Bluetooth intercom pairing'.
- Step 2: Click the 'Phone/Power Button' + '+' Button. You will hear the prompt 'Bluetooth intercom search', and the red and blue lights will flash alternately. Red and blue lights flash quickly alternately. Prompt: 'Bluetooth intercom search'.
- Step 3: The transceiver searches for other transceivers in pairing mode and initiates a pairing connection upon discovery.
Pairing Successful: You will hear the prompt 'Pairing successful'.
Firmware Upgrade
Connect the product to your computer using a USB cable. Download and run the 'EJEAS Upgrade.exe' software. Click the 'Upgrade' button to begin the upgrade process and wait for it to complete.
Note: Use the cable provided with the product for upgrades.
Mobile Phone Pairing
This transceiver supports connecting to mobile phones for music playback, calls, and activating voice assistants. It can connect to a maximum of two mobile phones simultaneously.
- Step 1: After powering on, long press the 'Phone/Power Button' (approx. 5s) until the red and blue lights flash alternately. You will hear the prompt 'Mobile phone pairing'. Red and blue lights flash alternately. Prompt: 'Mobile phone pairing'.
- Step 2: Search for the device named 'Q8' via Bluetooth on your mobile phone and click to pair.
Connection Successful: You will hear 'Pairing successful'. The blue light will double flash. Prompt: 'Pairing successful'.
Bluetooth and Mobile Phone Reconnection
The device automatically connects to the last connected mobile phone via Bluetooth upon powering on (requires HFP connection for battery icon display).
If not automatically connected, click the 'Phone/Power Button' to reconnect to the last paired mobile phone.
Mobile Phone Control
- Answering Calls: When a call comes in, click the 'Phone/Power Button'.
Call Handling and Music Control
- Rejecting a Call: When a call comes in, long press the 'Phone/Power Button' (approx. 1s).
- Ending a Call: During a call, click the 'Phone/Power Button'.
- Redial: In standby or music playback mode, quickly double click the 'Phone/Power Button'.
- Cancel Redial: Click the 'Phone/Power Button' while attempting to redial.
Call Priority: When a call comes in, Bluetooth music, FM radio, and intercom will be interrupted. They will resume after the call is ended.
- Incoming Call: Interrupts music, FM, intercom.
- Call Ended: Resumes music, FM, intercom.
Voice Assistant
During standby or music playback, long press the 'Phone/Power Button' (approx. 1s) to activate the voice assistant. Phone support is required.

Music Control
- Play/Pause: Click the 'Phone/Power Button' during music playback.

- Volume Down: Long press the '-' Button during music playback.
Radio (FM)
FM On/Off (76-108MHz): The system automatically scans for radio stations and plays them. You can listen to FM radio while using the intercom.
- Turn FM On: Long press the '+' Button + '-' Button (approx. 1s). You will hear the prompt 'FM Radio'. Prompt: 'FM Radio'.
- Turn FM Off: Long press the '+' Button + '-' Button (approx. 1s). You will hear the prompt 'FM Radio Off'. Prompt: 'FM Radio Off'.
Channel Switching
- Next Channel: Long press the '+' Button (approx. 2s).
- Previous Channel: Long press the '-' Button (approx. 2s).
Volume Adjustment (7 Levels)
- FM Only: Adjust volume using the '+' and '-' buttons.
- FM + Intercom: Adjust volume using the '+' and '-' buttons.
Music Sharing
This feature allows you to share music playing on your phone via Bluetooth with other devices. It is not available during Bluetooth intercom or when two phones are connected simultaneously.
- Step 1: Connect one transceiver as the master to your phone and use another transceiver as the slave.
- Step 2: Both master and slave units simultaneously click the 'Phone/Power Button' + '-' Button to enter music sharing search mode. You will hear the prompt 'Music Sharing'. Prompt: 'Music Sharing'.
Once connected successfully, music playing on the master's phone will also play through the slave's speaker. Prompt: 'Music sharing connection successful'.
To end music sharing, click the 'Phone/Power Button' + '-' Button again. Prompt: 'Music sharing disconnected'.

Handle Pairing
Pair the Handle EUC with the main unit:
- Step 1: Long press the main unit's 'Phone/Power Button' + '-' Button (approx. 5s) to enter Handle Pairing mode. The prompt 'Handle pairing' will be heard, and the red and blue lights will flash alternately. Pairing will end if not successful within 2 minutes. Red and blue lights flash alternately. Prompt: 'Handle pairing'.
- Step 2: Long press the Handle's 'FM Button' + '-' Button (approx. 5s) to clear records. The red and blue lights will turn on. Red and blue lights turn on.
- Step 3: Click any button on the EUC.
Pairing Successful: You will hear 'Pairing successful'. Pairing will end if not successful within 2 minutes.
Handle Operation
Reconnecting/disconnecting Mesh intercom and mobile phone control operations are the same as on the main unit.
