Product Installation

Basic Operation

Power On/Off

Power On: Press and hold the for 1 second until the blue light flashes and a voice prompt is heard. Power Off: Press and hold the + for 1 second until a voice prompt says "Power off".

Indicators

Low Battery: The red light flashes twice, accompanied by a voice prompt "Battery depleted." The device automatically turns off when the battery is fully depleted.

Reset

The device automatically turns off during charging and can be used while charging after power on.

Charging Indicator

The red light remains solid while charging via USB. The red light turns off when fully charged.

Charging Status Check

When connected to a phone via Bluetooth, the charging status can be viewed on the phone's Bluetooth icon.

Network Intercom

The network intercom utilizes MESH technology (communication frequency 470-488 MHz) allowing up to 6 people to communicate simultaneously. It offers improved range and interference resistance compared to traditional Bluetooth intercoms. The system supports up to 5 channels. If participating as a listener in a group, the number of connected listeners is unlimited.

Microphone Mute

To mute or unmute the microphone during an intercom session, briefly press the . Voice prompts: "Microphone muted" and "Microphone mute released". This function applies only to the MESH intercom.

VOX Voice Sensitivity

The system enters a sleep mode when no speech is detected and activates immediately upon detecting speech. Users can adjust the voice activation sensitivity to match their voice, preventing false activations or the need to speak too loudly. There are 5 sensitivity levels, with level 3 being the default. Level 5 offers the highest sensitivity, while level 1 offers the lowest. For high-speed riding, lower sensitivity is recommended to minimize wind noise. For low-speed riding, higher sensitivity can be used, allowing whispers to activate the microphone. To switch sensitivity levels, press the + . The cycle is 1->5->1, with voice prompts indicating the selected level (e.g., "VOX n", where n is the level from 1 to 5).

MESH Intercom Pairing

Pairing Steps as a Member

  1. Put the device into pairing mode by pressing and holding the for approximately 5 seconds until a voice prompt "Network Pairing" is heard and the red and green lights flash alternately.
  2. Select one device as the server and press the . The red and green lights will flash alternately, and a voice prompt "Bi" will be heard.

Pairing Successful: Wait for the "Pairing successful" voice prompt. After a moment, you will hear "n channel, xxx.x megahertz" from all intercoms, indicating successful connection and readiness for communication.

Intercom Reconnection

When powering on the intercom, press the . You will hear the "Connect to network" prompt. After a moment, you will hear "n channel, xxx.x megahertz", indicating reconnection.

MESH Intercom Power Off

Press and hold the for approximately 1 second to turn off the MESH intercom. A voice prompt "Network closed" will be heard.

Pairing as a Listener

To join an existing intercom group as a listener:

  1. Put the device into pairing mode as a listener by pressing and holding the + for approximately 5 seconds. The red and green lights will flash alternately, and a voice prompt "Listen Mesh Pairing" will be heard.
  2. Put the paired device into server pairing mode by pressing and holding the + Button> for approximately 5 seconds. The red and green lights will flash alternately, and a voice prompt "Listen Mesh Pairing" will be heard. (Note: Unconnected devices can only reconnect via the server.)
  3. Briefly press the . A voice prompt will be heard, and the red and green lights will flash alternately, with a voice prompt "Du".

Pairing Successful: Wait for the "Pairing successful" message from all intercoms. After a few more moments, you will hear "n channel, xxx.x MHz", indicating that you have connected to the intercom network and can communicate with others.

Intercom Channel Switching

There are 5 available channels. Briefly press the + to switch channels forward or backward. Ensure all team members are on the same channel for communication. If the signal is unstable, switching channels may improve it. A voice prompt "Channel n, xxx.x MHz" will be heard.

Two-Person Bluetooth Intercom Pairing

How to Pair with a Device

  1. With the device off, press and hold the + for approximately 5 seconds until the red and blue lights flash alternately and a voice prompt "Intercom Pairing" is heard. The device may also pair with other intercoms.
  2. The other intercom enters pairing mode using the same operation. When the two intercoms detect each other, one will initiate the pairing connection.

Connection Successful: The connection is established, and the intercom becomes operational. A "Pairing Successful" prompt will be heard.

Pairing with Old Models

To initiate pairing with older models, press and hold the + + simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds (red and blue lights flash alternately), with a "Intercom Pairing" prompt.

Intercom Connection/Disconnection

Intercom Connection: The blue light flashes quickly, with a "Intercom Connected" prompt.

Intercom Disconnection: Press and hold the for approximately 1 second. A "Intercom Disconnected" prompt will be heard.

Pairing with Other Brand Bluetooth Intercoms

Note: Compatibility is not guaranteed with all commercially available Bluetooth headsets or intercoms.

  1. Press and hold the + for approximately 5 seconds until the red and blue lights flash alternately and a voice prompt "Intercom Pairing" is heard.
  2. Press the + again. A voice prompt "Intercom searching" will be heard, and the red and blue lights will flash alternately.
  3. The intercom will search for other devices in pairing mode and initiate pairing if another intercom is found.

Pairing Successful: A "Pairing Successful" prompt will be heard.

Firmware Updates / Restore Default Settings

Firmware Update: Connect the device to a computer via USB cable. Download and run the "EJEAS Upgrade.exe" software. Click "Update" to start the process and wait for completion. Use a standard USB cable for updates.

Restore Default Settings: Press and hold the + + for approximately 5 seconds. A voice prompt "Restore Default Settings" will be heard, clearing all pairing records and restarting the device.

Mobile Phone Pairing

This intercom supports connection to mobile phones for music playback, initiating calls, and activating voice assistants. It can connect to up to two mobile phones simultaneously.

  1. After turning on the device, press and hold the for approximately 5 seconds until the red and blue lights flash alternately and a voice prompt "Phone Pairing" is heard.
  2. Your phone will search for the "MS8SE" device via Bluetooth. Tap to connect.

Successful Connection: The blue light flashes twice slowly, with a "Pairing Successful, Connected" prompt. The current battery level is displayed on the phone's Bluetooth icon (HFP connection is required).

Bluetooth Reconnection

Upon powering on, the device automatically connects to the last paired Bluetooth phone. If the connection fails, press the to reconnect to the last paired mobile device.

Call Handling

  • Reject Call: When a call is received, press the for approximately 1 second.
  • End Call: Press the during an active call.
  • Redial: In standby/music mode, double-press the .
  • Cancel Redial: Press the during redial.

Phone Priority

When a call is received, Bluetooth music, FM radio, and intercom functions pause and resume after the call ends.

Voice Assistant

To activate the voice assistant, press and hold the . Voice prompts may include "Open music", "Previous track", "Next track", "Call EJEAS", "Open navigation", depending on the phone.

Music Control

Play/Pause: Press the (2s). Previous Track: Press and hold . Next Track: Press and hold . Volume Adjustment: Use and .

FM Radio

FM On/Off (76-108MHz)

When the FM radio is turned on, it automatically scans for stations and plays the found station. The FM radio can be used while talking on the intercom, allowing you to listen to the radio during conversations.

  • Turn On: Press and hold the + for approximately 1 second. Voice prompt: "FM Radio".
  • Turn Off: Press and hold the + for approximately 1 second. Voice prompt: "FM Radio Off".

Channel Switching

Use the (frequency down) or (frequency up) for 2 seconds to switch channels.

Volume Control

FM Only: Adjust volume using and . There are 7 volume levels.

FM + Intercom: Adjust volume using and .

Music Sharing

You can share music played via Bluetooth from your phone to another device. This function cannot be used during a Bluetooth intercom call or when two phones are connected simultaneously.

Procedure: Designate one intercom as the master device and connect it to your phone. The other device will be the slave. Press the + simultaneously. A voice prompt "Music share" will be heard.

Successful Connection: Once connected, music can be played from the master device's speaker. A voice prompt "Music sharing connected" will be heard.

Exit Music Sharing: Press the + again.

Mobile Application

The mobile application provides features such as intercom group management, music control, FM control, firmware updates, and authenticity checks.

  • Download & Install: Download the "SafeRiding" mobile application.
  • Pairing: Press and hold the for approximately 5 seconds until the red and blue lights flash alternately, indicating pairing mode.
  • Connect via App: Open the application, tap the Bluetooth icon in the top right corner, select your intercom device from the list of found devices, and tap to connect.
  • iOS Note: For iOS devices, you may need to re-enter pairing mode in the phone's system settings and select "Intercom".

EUC Pairing

  1. Press and hold the + for approximately 5 seconds to enter pairing mode. A voice prompt "Remote Control Pairing" will be heard, and the red and blue lights will flash alternately. If pairing is not successful within 2 minutes, the device will exit pairing mode.
  2. To clear recordings, press and hold the + for approximately 5 seconds until the red and blue lights illuminate.
  3. Press any EUC button to complete the process.

Pairing Successful: A "Pairing Successful" prompt will be heard. (If no successful connection within 2 minutes, pairing will exit.)

EUC Handle Operation

Reconnecting/disconnecting the network intercom and controlling the mobile phone functions are the same as performed on the main unit.

Battery Information and Safety

LI-ION Batteries

The device is equipped with a rechargeable LI ION (lithium-ion) battery, which degrades over time and with use due to its chemical composition. The manufacturer provides maximum operating time under laboratory conditions. Actual operating time may differ from advertised values, which is characteristic of the product. To maintain maximum battery lifespan, it is not recommended to discharge the battery below 3.18V or below 15% of its total capacity. Discharging below 2.5V per cell can cause permanent damage. If the battery or device is not used for more than a month, charge the battery to 50% and check its charge level every two months. Store the battery and device in a dry place, protected from sunlight and negative temperatures.

LIPO Batteries

The device is equipped with a rechargeable LI PO (lithium-polymer) battery, which also degrades over time and with use. Similar to LI-ION, the manufacturer provides maximum operating time under laboratory conditions. Actual operating time may differ.
