Oregon Scientific RM383P RF Projection Clock with Lighting Effect
This user manual provides instructions for the Oregon Scientific RM383P, RM383PU, RM383PA, and RA383P RF Projection Clock with Lighting Effect.
Overview
Front View (FIG. 1)
- 1. LED Projection / FOCUS: Adjusts the projected image.
- 2. Clock with Seconds / Weekday: Displays time with seconds or weekday.
- 3. Calendar: Displays the date.
- 4. SNOOZE: Press to activate snooze function or backlight.
- 5. Signal reception indicator: Shows the status of radio signal reception.
- 6. Time zone offset: Allows adjustment for different time zones.
- 7. Alarm display mode: Indicates the current alarm display status.
- 8. Alarm 1 / 2 is ON: Shows if Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 is active.
- *When the adapter is connected, the backlight is continuously on.
Bottom View (FIG. 2)
- 1. Battery compartment: Houses the backup batteries.
- 2. PROJECTION ON / OFF: Enables or disables continuous projection.
- 3. / : Increase or decrease values for the selected setting; activate or deactivate the clock reception signal.
- 4. ((.)) ALARM: View alarm status and set the alarm.
- 5. ALARM ON/OFF: Activates or deactivates the alarm function.
- 6. MODE: Changes settings or display modes.
- 7. AC / DC socket: Connection for the power adapter.
- 8. RESET: Resets the unit to default settings.
Getting Started
Inserting Batteries
- Remove the battery compartment cover.
- Insert batteries, matching the polarities (+ / -).
- Press RESET after each battery change.
Clock
Clock Reception
This product synchronizes its clock automatically with a clock signal.
- RM383P (EU): Receives DCF-77 signal within 1500 km (932 miles) of Frankfurt, Germany.
- RM383PU (UK): Receives MSF-60 signal within 1500 km (932 miles) of Anthorn, England.
- RM383PA: Receives WWVB-60 signal within 3200 km (2000 miles) of Fort Collins, Colorado. Manually set the clock to select the time zone (Pacific, Mountain, Central, or Eastern).
To enable/disable signal reception: Press and hold the / buttons.
Note: Reception takes 2-10 minutes. If the signal is weak, it can take up to 24 hours to get a valid signal.
Clock signal reception indicator: Strong Signal, Weak Signal, No Signal.
Manually Setting the Clock
- Press and hold MODE to enter settings.
- Press MODE to toggle between displays.
- Press or to increase/decrease values for the selected setting.
- Press MODE to confirm.
The settings order is: time zone offset, 12/24 hr format, hour, minute, year, month-day / day-month, month, day, and language.
- RM383P/RM383PU: Time zone offset adjusts the clock +/- 23 hours from the received clock signal time.
- RM383PA: Select the time zone: (P) Pacific, (E) Eastern, (C) Central, or (M) Mountain.
- Note: Language options include English (E), German (D), French (F), Italian (I), and Spanish (S).
To select display mode: Press MODE to choose between clock with seconds and clock with weekday.
Alarm
Setting the Alarm
- Press ((.)) to toggle between Alarm 1 / 2.
- Press and hold ((.)) to enter alarm setting.
- Press / to set hour / minute.
- Press ((.)) to confirm or MODE to confirm and exit.
An indicator shows when the alarm is ON.
Activating/Deactivating Alarms
- Press the button to activate or deactivate Alarm 1 and/or 2.
Silencing the Alarm
- Press SNOOZE to silence the alarm for 8 minutes.
- Alternatively, press any other button to turn the alarm off completely, and it will reactivate after 24 hours.
Projection
Continuous Projection
- Slide the PROJECTION switch to activate or deactivate continuous projection when the adapter is connected.
Flipping the Image
- While the image is projected, press SNOOZE to flip the image by 180°.
Focusing the Image
- Turn the FOCUS wheel to adjust the focus of the projected image.
Note: Do not look directly into the projector when it is illuminated.
Reset
Press RESET to return the unit to its default settings.
Precautions
- Do not subject the unit to excessive force, shock, dust, extreme temperatures, or humidity.
- Do not cover ventilation holes with items like newspapers or curtains.
- Do not immerse the unit in water. If liquid is spilled on it, dry it immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Do not clean the unit with abrasive or corrosive materials.
- Do not tamper with the unit’s internal components, as this will void the warranty.
- Only use fresh batteries. Do not mix new and old batteries.
- Images shown in this manual may differ from the actual product.
- When disposing of this product, ensure it is collected separately for special treatment.
- Placement of this product on certain types of wood may damage the furniture's finish; Oregon Scientific is not responsible for such damage. Consult the furniture manufacturer's care instructions.
- The contents of this manual may not be reproduced without the manufacturer's permission.
- Do not dispose of old batteries as unsorted municipal waste; separate collection for special treatment is necessary.
- Some units are equipped with a battery safety strip. Remove the strip from the battery compartment before first use.
