Oregon Scientific support FAQ

Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.

  • Why is my outdoor sensor not displaying a temperature?

This often happens if the signal is lost. Try performing a full reset: Remove batteries from both the main unit and the sensor. Press the RESET button (if available) or wait 2 minutes. Insert batteries into the remote sensor first, then into the main unit. Keep them close together for 15 minutes to establish a connection.

  • How do I set the atomic clock?

Devices with the atomic clock feature synchronize automatically with the WWVB signal (in the US). Place the unit near a window away from electronic interference. Press the 'RCC' or clock signal button to force a search, which can take 2-10 minutes. Signal reception is usually best at night.

  • What does the Ice Alert or flashing green light mean?

On many Oregon Scientific weather stations, a flashing LED or snowflake icon on Channel 1 indicates that the outdoor temperature has fallen between approximately 37°F and 28°F (3°C to -2°C), warning of possible icy conditions.

  • Where is the Reset button?

The Reset button is typically a small hole located inside the battery compartment of the main unit or on the back of the device. You will need a paperclip or blunt stylus to press it.
