MAUL Weighing Scale Operating Instructions
Power Supply
The scale can be operated with a power supply adapter or a 9V battery. The connector is located on the back side of the weighing unit, the battery housing is located on the bottom of the unit.
Battery Replacement
If „Lo" appears on the display, the battery needs to be replaced.
Positioning the Scales
Please ensure that the scale is in a horizontal position.
Weighing (ON/TARE)
After switching on the scale with the „ON/TARE" button, all segments are shown on the display. Please wait until the zero appears, then place the weight on the scale and read off the shown weight.
Net Weighing (ON/TARE)
Place an empty container (or the first weight) on the scale and press the „ON/TARE" -key until the zero appears. Fill the container (or place the second weight on the scale). Only the additional weight is indicated in the display.
Switch-off (OFF)
Press the „OFF" -key.
Automatic Switch-off
Battery mode: if no change of weight occurs within 1,5 minutes, the scale switches-off automatically. regardless if a weight is on the scale or not. Mains mode: no automatic switch-off when operated with the power supply adapter.
Changing the Weighing Units (MODE)
This scale can show the weight in either g, kg, oz or lb oz. Press the „MODE" -key until the required weighing unit appears.
Counting (PCS)
- When the scale is "ready to weigh" with the „zero" showing on the display, place the reference weight 25; 50; 75 or 100 pieces on the scale. NOTE: the weight of each single piece must be ≥ 1 gram, otherwise the counting function will not work!
- Press the „PCS" -key and select the reference quantity (25; 50; 75 or 100). The display shows „P“ .
- Press the „ON/TARE" -key, the display now shows „C”. The counting-function is now activated.
- With the „PCS” -key you can change back and forth between weighing and counting function without losing the reference weight.
- For setting a new reference weight, press and hold the „PCS" -key until the display starts blinking, then continue as from step 1.
User Calibration
- When the scale is switched off press and hold the „MODE" -key.
- Additionally press shortly the „ON/TARE" -key, the display shows a number.
- Release the „MODE" -key.
- Press again the „MODE“ -key, the display shows „5000“
- Place a 5 kg calibration weight on the scale, the display now shows „10000“
- Place a 10 kg calibration weight on the scale, next „PASS" appears on the display and finally the scale shows the normal weighing display. The scales is now recalibrated. If in any case the procedure should have failed, the calibration should be repeated. Important: during recalibration the scales should not experience any movement or draught!
Explanation of the Special Symbols
Switch-On
After pressing the „ON/TARE"-key all symbols appear. One can check if all segments are shown correctly. The „zero” which then appears shows that the scales is ready for weighing.
Negative Weight Display
Press the „ON/TARE"-key again.
Overload
If the weight on the scales is heavier than the max. capacity of the scales then „O-ld" appears in the display.
Power Supply
„Lo" means that the battery is empty and needs to be replaced.
Precision and Compliance
This device corresponds to requirements stipulated in 2014/31/EU. Every scale has been carefully calibrated and controlled during the production process. The tolerance is ± 0,5% ± 1 digit (at Temperatures between +5° and +35° C). Incorrect display values due to damage attributable to impropera handling, mechanical damage or malfunction is exempt from liability. Damages due to faults are also exempt from the guarantee. No liability is accepted for consequential damages or losses by the buyer or the user.
This device corresponds to the requirements stipulated in the EC-directives 2014/31/EU. Note: Extreme electromagnetic influences e.g. radio unit in the immediate vicinity may affect the displayed values. Once the interference has stopped, the product can once again be used normally. The scales is not legal for trade.
