This document provides comprehensive instructions for operating the EKEN H9R action camera.
Product Overview
The EKEN H9R is an action camera featuring a 170° Wide Angle Lens, HDMI output, Ultra HD video recording, and waterproof capabilities up to 30 meters. It is powered by a long-lasting battery.

Getting Started
Congratulations on your new camera! This manual will guide you through its features.
To Power ON: Press the Power/Mode Button.
To Power OFF: Press and hold the Power/Mode Button.
Camera Modes
Turn the camera ON and press the Power/Mode Button to cycle through camera modes and settings. The modes appear in the following order:
- Video ?: Record Video.
- Photo ?: Capture a single photo.
- Burst Photo ?: Capture photo bursts.
- Time Lapse ⏳: Shoot a series of photos at set time intervals.
- Settings ⚙️: Adjust camera settings, resolution, and more.
Settings Menu
Press the Shutter/Select Button to enter the settings menu. Use the Power/Mode Button to cycle through options and the Shutter/Select Button to select. Alternatively, use the Up/Playback or Down/Wi-Fi Button to cycle through options.
Video Resolution: 4K25/2.7K30/1080p60/1080p30/720p120.

Video Mode
To record video, ensure the camera is in Video mode (? icon visible on screen). Press the Power/Mode Button repeatedly until the Video icon appears.
To Start Recording: Press the Shutter/Select Button. The camera will emit one beep, and the Camera Status Lights will flash during recording.
To Stop Recording: Press the Shutter/Select Button. The Camera Status Lights stop flashing, and the camera emits one beep.
Note: The camera automatically stops recording when the battery is low. Your video will be saved before the camera powers off.
Photo Mode
To capture a photo, ensure the camera is in Photo mode (? icon visible on screen). Press the Power/Mode Button repeatedly until the Photo icon appears.
To Take a Photo: Press the Shutter/Select Button. The camera will emit the camera shutter sound.
Burst Photo Mode
To capture a Burst Photo series, ensure the camera is in Burst Photo mode (? icon visible on screen). The camera takes 3 photos in 1.5 seconds.
To Take a Burst Series: Press the Shutter/Select Button. The camera will emit camera shutter sounds.
Time Lapse Mode
To capture a Time Lapse series, ensure Continuous Lapse is ON and the camera is in Time Lapse mode (⏳ icon visible on screen). The camera captures a series of photos at intervals of 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, 30, or 60 seconds.
To Take Time Lapse: Press the Shutter/Select Button. The camera initiates a countdown and emits the camera shutter sound each time a photo is taken.
Playback
Playing Back Videos and Photos:
To Enter the Playback Menu:
- Verify the camera is in Camera modes.
- Press the Up/Playback Button to enter the Playback menu.
- Press the Power/Mode Button to cycle through Video and Photo.
- Press the Shutter/Select Button to select the desired option.
- Use the Up/Playback Button or Down/Wi-Fi Button to cycle through the various options.
- Press the Shutter/Select Button.
- To return to the Playback menu, press the Power/Mode Button.
- To exit, hold down the Up/Playback Button for two seconds.
Storage/MicroSD Cards
This camera is compatible with 16GB and 32GB capacity microSD, microSDHC, and microSDXC memory cards. You must use a microSD card with at least a Class 10 speed rating. Using brand name memory cards is recommended for maximum reliability, especially during high-vibration activities.
Battery
To Charge the Battery: Use the 1A USB charger and USB cable. Charging Time: 5 hours.
Compatibility
Compatibility varies by device. Content playback, sharing, and access to the camera's memory card might not be available on some devices.
Camera App
Connecting to the Ez iCam App (4K & 2.7K not supported):
The Ez iCam App allows you to control your camera remotely using a smartphone or tablet. Features include full camera control, live preview, photo playback, and sharing of select content.
Setup Instructions:
- Download the Ez iCam App from the Google Play or Apple App Store.
- Press the Power/Mode Button to power the camera ON.
- Ensure the camera is in Camera modes.
- Press the Down/Wi-Fi Button to turn on Wi-Fi ?.
- In your smartphone or tablet's Wi-Fi settings, connect to the network named "ICAM-H9(R)" followed by a series of numbers.
- Open the Ez iCam App on your smartphone or tablet.
To Turn OFF Wi-Fi: Press and hold the Down/Wi-Fi Button for three seconds.
App Compatibility:
- For Apple iOS: iPhone 6/6s/7 (Plus) (iOS10), iPad Air & Mini (iOS10).
- For Android: Android 4X Quad-core devices.
Live Streaming
This camera supports Facebook Live and YouTube Live.
Stream to Facebook Live or YouTube Live:
- Make sure you have paired the camera with the Ez iCam App.
- Tap the camera icon in the bottom right corner of the picture, then tap the Live Streaming icon.
- Tap the red button ?, then tap the Facebook or YouTube icon for Apple iOS. For Android, tap the red button ?, then tap the LIVE button, and choose Facebook or YouTube.
- Log in to Facebook Live or YouTube. A browser window will open requesting login and permissions.
- Tap the Facebook or YouTube icon to start Live Streaming.
Live Stream Interface:
- Facebook: Connects to Facebook Inc. Use the "Go Live" button. "Facebook helps you connect and share with people in your life."
- YouTube: Connects to Google Inc. Use the "Go Live" button. "See what the world is watching in music, gaming, entertainment, news and more."
