Overview
This manual provides instructions for the 8BitDo Lite 2 Bluetooth gamepad.
Device Layout
The gamepad features:
- D-pad
- Analog sticks (L3, R3)
- Face buttons (Y, Home, Select, Start)
- Shoulder buttons (L1, L2, R1, R2)
- Mode switch
- Pair button
- Status LED
- Power LED
Connecting to Nintendo Switch
Mode Switch
Ensure your Switch system and Lite 2 are updated to the latest version. Note that NFC scanning, IR camera, HD rumble, notification LED, and wireless wake-up are not supported. The status LED can indicate up to 8 players.
Bluetooth Connection
- Turn the mode switch to 'S'.
- Press the Home button to turn on the controller. The LED starts to rotate from left to right.
- Press the Pair button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED stops blinking briefly, then resumes rotating. (This is only required for the first-time connection.)
- On your Switch Home page, go to "Controllers", then "Change grip/order" and wait for the connection.
- The LED becomes solid, and the controller vibrates upon successful connection.
Wired Connection
- Ensure "Pro Controller Wired Communication" is enabled in System Settings > Controller and Sensors.
- Turn the mode switch to 'S'.
- Connect the controller to your Switch dock via a USB cable.
- Wait for the controller to be recognized by your Switch to play.
Connecting to Android Devices
Ensure your Android device and Lite 2 are updated to the latest version.
Bluetooth Connection
- Turn the mode switch to 'D'.
- Press the Home button to turn on the controller. LED 1 starts to blink.
- Press the Pair button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED stops blinking briefly, then starts to rotate again. (This is only required for the first-time connection.)
- Go to your Android device's Bluetooth settings and pair with "8BitDo Lite 2".
- The LED becomes solid, and the controller vibrates upon successful connection.
Wired Connection
Your Android device must support OTG. Contact your device manufacturer for details.
- Turn the mode switch to 'D'.
- Connect the controller to your Android device via a USB cable.
- Wait for the controller to be recognized by your Android device to play.
Turbo Function
Hold the button you wish to set to turbo, then press the Star button to activate or deactivate the function. This function is not available for D-pad, Left stick, Right stick, Home, Select, and Start buttons. Turbo function is not available when connected to Switch.
Battery Information
Power Status
- Low battery: Red LED blinks
- Charging: Red LED stays solid
- Fully charged: Red LED turns off
The gamepad has a 480mAh built-in battery, providing about 20 hours of playtime after a 1-hour charge. The controller will automatically turn off after 1 minute of inactivity without a connection, or 15 minutes of inactivity with a Bluetooth connection. It remains on when connected via a wired connection.
