Roth Touchline® PL Controller Installation

Overview

The Roth Touchline® PL Controller is an advanced 8-channel control unit designed for heating systems, including underfloor heating. This document provides installation instructions for the 230V model.

The controller features a digital display showing current time, date, temperature settings, and operational status indicators.

Safety Warnings ⚠️

WARNING: Risk of fatal electric shock from touching live connections. Before working on the controller, always switch off the 230V power supply and prevent it from being accidentally switched on. Ensure no voltage is present before proceeding.

Mounting

The controller must be mounted on a flat surface or using a DIN rail (not included). Use screws with a maximum diameter of 3 mm.

Electrical Connections

Actuator Connections

Connect actuators using the "brown" wire to L (Live) and the "blue" wire to N (Neutral). Use Roth Project actuators (230V, 1 Watt). The maximum number of actuators supported is 22, configurable as 3 zones of 4 actuators and 5 zones of 2 actuators.

Pump Output (A) ?

This is a 230V pump output with a maximum load of 0.5 A. Cables must be secured with strain relief. The output includes an integrated pump stop function.

Boiler/Heat Supply Output (B) ?

This is a potential-free relay output for a boiler or heat supply, with a maximum load capacity of 1 A.

Powering Up and Sensor Pairing ?

Connect the 230V power supply. The controller is now ready for pairing with room thermostats/sensors. Please refer to the thermostat/sensor operation manual for pairing instructions.

Fuse Replacement ?️

The controller uses a glass fuse WT 6.3A (5 x 20mm). Turn off the 230V power supply before changing the fuse.
