Description
The EPS-65S is a 65W highly reliable green PCB type industrial power supply with a high power density on the 3" by 2" footprint. It accepts 80~264VAC input and offers various output voltages between 3.3V and 48V. The working efficiency is up to 91% and the extremely low no load power consumption is down below 0.1W. The EPS-65S is suitable for Class II (no FG) system design.
Model Encoding
The model number follows the format: EPS-65S-XX, where 'XX' denotes the specific output voltage.

Block Diagram
The block diagram outlines the internal signal processing of the power supply. It begins with the input stage (I/P), which includes an EMI Filter & Rectifier, followed by Rectifiers & Filter. The core of the supply is the Power Switching stage, managed by a Control unit. Protection circuits such as Overload Protection (O.L.P.) and Over Voltage Protection (O.V.P.) are integrated. The output stage consists of Rectifiers & Filter, delivering the regulated output voltage (+V, -V) at a switching frequency (fosc) of 65KHz.
Derating Curve
The derating curve illustrates the relationship between ambient temperature and the permissible load percentage. The power supply operates at 100% load capacity from -30°C up to approximately 50°C. Above 50°C, the load capacity gradually decreases (derates) linearly, reaching 0% load at 70°C ambient temperature.
Static Characteristics
The static characteristics graph depicts the load percentage as a function of input voltage. The EPS-65S series maintains its full 100% load capacity across the entire specified input voltage range, from 80VAC to 264VAC at 60Hz.

Notes
- 1. All parameters not specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load, and 25°C of ambient temperature.
- 2. 33% Duty cycle maximum within every 30 seconds. Average output power should not exceed the rated power.
- 3. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uF & 47uF parallel capacitor.
- 4. Tolerance: includes set up tolerance, line regulation, and load regulation.
- 5. Derating may be needed under low input voltages. Please check the derating curve for more details.
- 6. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5°C/1000m for fanless models and 5°C/1000m for fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m (6500ft).
- 7. The power supply is considered a component that will be installed into a final equipment. The final equipment must be re-confirmed that it still meets EMC directives.
