Notes on Specifications
- All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25°C of ambient temperature.
- Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1µF & 47µF parallel capacitor.
- Tolerance: includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- Line regulation is measured from low line to high line at rated load.
- Load regulation is measured from 0% to 100% rated load.
- The power supply is considered a component which will be installed into a final equipment. All the EMC tests are been executed by mounting the unit on a 230mm*230mm metal plate with 1mm of thickness. The final equipment must be re-confirmed that it still meets EMC directives. Block Diagram
The block diagram illustrates the internal signal flow. Input power (I/P) is first processed by an EMI Filter, followed by Rectifiers & Filter. The core of the unit is the Power Switching stage, managed by a PWM Control circuit. The output stage consists of Rectifiers & Filter and a Detection Circuit. The output voltage can be fine-tuned using the +V ADJ. control. The Frame Ground (FG) connection provides safety grounding.
Derating Curve
This graph illustrates the power supply's load capacity relative to ambient temperature. The unit can operate at 100% load from -20°C up to approximately 50°C. Beyond 50°C, the maximum allowable load decreases linearly, reaching 0% at 70°C ambient temperature. This indicates the need for thermal management in higher ambient temperatures.
Output Derating VS Input Voltage
This graph shows the relationship between the input voltage and the output load percentage. The RS-15 series power supply is designed to operate at 100% load across a wide input voltage range, specifically from 95VAC to 264VAC at 60Hz.
