Mechanical Specifications
The power supply is available in two forms: PCB only or an enclosed type with an optional cover (Part No. 998A-T) and an optional L-bracket (Part No. 998A-D).
Overall dimensions for the PCB version are 101.6mm (Length) x 50.8mm (Width) x 29mm (Height). The enclosed version measures 103.4mm (Length) x 62mm (Width) x 37mm (Height).
AC Input Connector (CN1): JST B3P-VH or equivalent. Pin 1: AC/N, Pin 2: No Pin, Pin 3: AC/L.
DC Output Connector (CN2): JST B4P-VH or equivalent. Pins 1,2: +V, Pins 3,4: -V.
Grounding: M1 and M2 are safety ground points and must be securely grounded.
Block Diagram: The signal path starts with an EMI Filter & Rectifier, followed by Power Switching, then Rectifiers & Filter, leading to the output (+V, -V). Control circuits include Over Load Protection (O.L.P.) and Over Voltage Protection (O.V.P.).
Important Notes for Installation: HS1 and HS2 components must not be shorted. HS1 must maintain safety isolation distance from the system case.
Performance Characteristics
Output Derating: The output derating graph illustrates how the maximum load capacity decreases with increasing ambient temperature. Different derating curves are provided for various voltage models (3.3-7.5V, 12-48V) and configurations (PCB only, Enclosed type). For instance, the 12-48V PCB only models can operate at full load up to approximately 60°C ambient temperature, while enclosed types require derating at lower temperatures.
Static Characteristics: The static characteristics graph shows the output load percentage versus input voltage at 60Hz. For the 12-48V models, the power supply maintains full load capability (100%) across a wide input voltage range, typically from 95V to 264V AC.
Notes
- All parameters not specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load, and 25°C ambient temperature.
- Ripple and noise are measured at 20MHz bandwidth using a 12-inch twisted pair wire terminated with a 0.1 µF and 47 µF parallel capacitor.
- Tolerance includes setup tolerance, line regulation, and load regulation.
- Derating may be needed under low input voltage. Refer to static characteristics for details.
- 33% Duty cycle maximum within every 30 seconds. Average output power should not exceed the rated power.
- This power supply is considered a component for installation into a final equipment. All EMC tests were performed by mounting the unit on a 360mm x 360mm metal plate with 1mm thickness. - Ambient temperature derating is 3.5°C/1000m for fanless models and 5°C/1000m for fan models for operating altitudes higher than 2000m (6500ft).
