Camera Placement Tips

Important: Ensure the mounting surface can support at least 3 times your camera's weight.

• Location: Place your camera in a wide, open space, away from obstructions.
• Height: Install your camera at a height of 10 ft (3 m) above the ground.
• Angle: Angle your camera outwards by 15°. Avoid angles greater than 30°.
• Distance: Place your camera within 22-65 ft (7-20 m) of points of interest.

Camera Mounting

1. Place the provided Mounting Template onto the desired location. Ensure an outlet is nearby and consider cable length.
2. Using a drill, drill through all 3 mounting screw holes on the template. If running the cable through the surface, drill a center hole. If running along a wall/ceiling, use the cable notch.
3. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver and provided screws, secure the Mounting Bracket to the surface. Use anchors if mounting into drywall.
4. Connect the camera's cable to the Power Adapter and plug into a nearby outlet.
5. (Optional) Use the provided Cable Clips and Screws to secure the camera's cable to the wall.
6. Adjust the camera angle: Loosen the Camera Adjustment Screw to rotate downwards/sideways, then tighten. Loosen the Mounting Bracket Adjustment Screw to rotate the camera/bracket around the base, then tighten. For sideways orientation, rotate the bracket 90°, then the camera 90°, and point.
7. Remove the protective vinyl film from the camera lens after installation.

1. Open the Lorex app and tap the camera thumbnail.

3. Tap Motion Zones™, then select the type of smart motion detection to customize a motion zone.

How do I activate Deterrence Lights and/or Smart Security Lighting when smart motion is detected?

1. Open the Lorex app and tap the camera thumbnail.
2. Tap Light Settings > Activate Light on Smart Motion.
3. Tap the smart motion detection type you are using, then tap to activate Deterrence Light and/or Smart Security Lighting.

How do I turn off Smart Security Lighting?

1. Open the Lorex app and tap the camera thumbnail.
2. Tap Light Settings > Smart Security Light Modes.
3. Tap to deselect the mode, then tap Set.
