For Easier Curling, Activate Your i.d. curl™ Sequence in the MyDyson™ App

Setting up your personalized curling sequence is quick and easy, taking less than two minutes.

1. Download the MyDyson™ app.
2. Set up your hair profile and activate the i.d. curl™ personalized curling sequence in the MyDyson™ app.
3. Attach a curling barrel to your tool. Press the power button to activate the sequence. Your Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler and Dryer Coanda 2x will then curl, style, set, and drop curls uniformly, automatically adjusting temperature and airflow based on the best settings for your hair.

Getting to Know Your Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler and Dryer Coanda 2x

Accessory Detection

On first use, your tool applies the recommended best temperature and airflow presets for each accessory. You can change these presets during use, and your tool will remember your preferences.

Power Button

Activates airflow for all accessories and initiates automatic functions. (Only with a curling barrel accessory or with the AirSmooth 2x™).

Temperature Control

Four temperature settings, including constant cool shot.

Airflow Control

Three airflow speeds: high, medium, and low.

Bluetooth® Wireless Technology LED

Indicates the tool is connected to the MyDyson™ app.

• Flashing blue: connecting.
• Solid blue: connected.

Auto LED

Indicates an accessory with automatic functions is attached and the automatic function is activated (only with a curling barrel accessory or with the AirSmooth 2x™).

With airflow off, you can deactivate automatic functions by pressing and holding the power button for five seconds, until the Auto LED lights up. To reactivate, press and hold again.

Cool Shot

Designed for easy recognition. Press and hold to deactivate the heating element to set your style.

Filter LED

Flashing white: no filter detected.

Amber: filter needs cleaning.

If the LED light continues to flash after cleaning the filter, contact the Dyson Helpline.

Removable Filter

Easy to remove for cleaning (see 'Regular filter maintenance' section for more information).

Smart Attachments

Your tool only works with an attached smart attachment. RFID chips in each attachment communicate with your Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler and Dryer Coanda 2x, to automatically adapt to the recommended best temperature and airflow settings for each accessory.

You can change these presets during use, and your tool will remember your preferences.

Styling Attachments

All attachments click easily into the tool. To remove attachments, we recommend holding the cool ends of the Soft Brush 2x, the cool tips of the AirSmooth 2x™, or the coloured cool tips of the remaining attachments.

Using the Attachments

Attaching the accessory

Place the attachment onto the main body of the tool until it correctly clicks into place.

Changing attachments

Slide the release button and remove the current attachment by holding the tip or cool end.

Cool touch tip

During use, the styling barrels and round brushes get hot. To change attachments, hold by the tip. If the attachment does not have a tip, hold by the cool end.

Caution when handling hot attachments Hold the attachment only by the indicated area.

Pre-styling

For straight and wavy hair, use a drying attachment: the Fast-Dry 2x. Hair should feel dry, but be cool to the touch before curling with the barrels. For curly and very curly hair, use the Soft Brush 2x. Brush hair downwards, in small sections, starting from the ends and working towards the roots, until it is slightly damp.

Curling

With the i.d. curl™ personalized curling sequence

The Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler and Dryer Coanda 2x remembers your personalized sequence. It adapts curl and styling times to your personalized hair profile, using the MyDyson™ app. First, set up your i.d. curl™ personalized curling sequence in the app.

Curling barrels

1. Press the power button, then take a section of hair and bring the barrel towards the ends. Hair will begin to wrap around the barrel.
2. Move the barrel towards the head, without rotating. Your i.d. curl™ personalized sequence will initiate.
3. The cool shot will automatically activate to set the curl.

Airflow automatically switches off when the sequence is complete. Move the tool down to release.

To change curl direction, rotate the cool tip of the barrel.

Styling

Soft Brush 2x

Use the anti-tangle soft brush to brush from root to tip. Tip: To shape, turn the bristles inwards as you brush through the ends. To achieve more volume, turn the bristles outwards.

Smoothing

AirSmooth 2x™ Attachment

Use on dry hair after styling with the Soft Brush 2x. Take a section of hair and place it between the arms of the attachment. Press the power button to lock the arms and slowly glide them to the ends. When Auto Mode is activated, the tool detects when you have completed a full pass and automatically releases the arms to release the hair.

Tip: Move the AirSmooth2x™ attachment slowly through small sections of hair. If the movement is too slow, the tool may think you have finished the pass, resulting in the arms opening prematurely.

Remove the attachment by holding the cool tips.

Volumizing

Round Volumizing Brush 2x

The Round Volumizing Brush 2x disperses airflow evenly across the brush for more controlled styling with less frizz.¹ The tapered bristles rotate to release hair easily as you brush.

Tip: Lift sections as you dry them to create volume. Wrap hair around and under the brush to shape the ends.

Using the diffuser

Diffuser Wave+Curl 2x

• Dome Mode: Removable pins are pulled out and airflow is projected into the dome to help enhance natural waves and curls.
• Diffuser Mode: Pins clipped into the dome disperse airflow to the roots for voluminous, textured curls and coils.

Stretching

Fast Drying

Position the attachment's teeth horizontally for faster drying, while gently stretching.

Stretching and Smoothing

Rotate the attachment so the teeth face downwards and at a slight angle, so the side bristles touch your hair, for a smoother finish.¹

Regular Filter Maintenance

If the amber LED starts flashing, it means the filter needs cleaning. Ensure your tool is switched off and has cooled down before cleaning the filter. The technology in the Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler and Dryer Coanda 2x has been carefully engineered to deliver exceptional performance. This technology requires the appliance to be free from dust or hair product residue. To maintain its high performance, the tool needs to be maintained.

1. Remove the filter housing by sliding it off the power cord and opening it at the split line.
2. Immerse the filter housing in a basin of water.
3. Wash the filter housing under warm running tap water.
4. Shake the filter housing to remove excess water and leave it to dry completely.
5. Open the filter housing at the split line and re-attach it to the tool. Click into place until you hear a click.
