Pre-styling
For straight and wavy hair, use a dryer attachment like the Fast dryer or the Dryer+Flyaway smoother. The Dryer+Flyaway smoother has two modes: (i) drying and (ii) smoothing. Use the cool tip to switch between modes. Hair should feel dry but cool to the touch before curling with barrels.
For curly and coily hair, use the Firm smoothing brush. Brush hair downwards in small sections, starting from the ends and working towards the roots, until slightly damp.

Curling
Using i.d. curlTM sequence: The Dyson Airwrap i.d.TM multi-styler and dryer remembers your personalized i.d. curlTM sequence, which tailors wrapping and styling times to your hair profile via the MyDysonTM app. Slide up and release the power switch to activate the i.d. curlTM sequence after initial app setup.
Barrels:
Step 1: Take a section of hair and bring the barrel towards the tips. Hair will start to wrap around the barrel.
Step 2: Move the styler towards your head; no need to twist. Your personalized i.d. curlTM sequence will run.
Step 3: A cold shot will automatically activate to set the curl. Airflow will automatically reduce when the sequence is complete. Move the device downwards to release the styled hair.
To change curl direction, twist the barrel's rotating cool tip.

Shaping
Smoothing brushes
Use the Smoothing brush to brush from root to tip. For volume, face bristles outwards. Turn the brush inwards at the ends to create shape.

Volumizing
Round volumizing brush
The Round volumizing brush features long, fine bristles that direct air into the hair, providing body and creating tension to shape the hair as it dries.
Tip: Lift sections upwards as you dry to add volume. Wrap hair around and under the brush to shape the ends.

The Blade concentrator
Use the Blade concentrator to create a smooth style with a high-velocity blade of air for precision styling. It provides focused airflow to create bends and flicks with a brush.
Once secured, the Blade concentrator can be rotated 360 degrees for ease when styling.
Tip: Angle the attachment down the hair tress to avoid disruption and create a smooth, aligned finish.

Smoothing
Dryer+Flyaway smoother
Rotate the cool tip to select Smoothing mode. Press against hair to switch airflow direction.
Use on dry hair to hide flyaways. Position the attachment against the hair until it attracts, then slowly run down to the tips.
How to use the contact bar: Position the contact bar against the head until you hear a click and hair attracts. Run from root to tip to hide flyaways.
Visual description: A person uses the Dryer+Flyaway smoother in Smoothing mode on dry, straight hair, moving the attachment along roots to tips. Another visual shows the contact bar positioned against the head.
Diffusing
Wave+Curl diffuser
Dome mode: Airflow is drawn into the dome to help enhance and smooth natural waves or curls.
Diffuse mode: Detachable prongs disperse airflow to the roots for textured, voluminous curls and coils.
Visual description: An illustration shows a person with curly hair using the Wave+Curl diffuser in Dome mode. Another visual shows the prongs being lifted to switch modes, and then using the diffuser in Diffuse mode for root volume.
Stretching
Wide-tooth comb
Comb hair downwards in small sections. Starting from the ends and working upwards towards the roots, until the desired result is achieved.

Regular filter maintenance
Filter cleaning is indicated when the white LED starts flashing. Ensure the appliance is unplugged from the mains electricity supply and has cooled down before cleaning.
The Dyson Airwrap i.d.TM multi-styler and dryer requires maintenance to keep its highly tuned technology free from dust and hair product residue, thus maintaining performance.
Steps for filter maintenance:
- Clean the filter cage: Slide the filter cleaning brush over the cable and onto the filter cage. Use a rotating action to clean the filter cage thoroughly. Remove the brush.
- Remove the filter cage: Hold the handle and pull the filter cage downwards onto the cable. Gently pull open the filter cage and slide it off the cable.
- Wash the filter cage: Wash the filter cage under a warm, running tap.
- Dry the filter cage: Shake the filter cage to remove excess water, then leave it to dry naturally.
- Clean the filter mesh: Using a rotating and up-and-down action, clean the filter mesh with the filter cleaning brush until all debris is removed. Do not use water or chemicals to clean the filter mesh.
- Reattach the filter cage: Gently pull the filter cage open and slide it onto the cable. Slide the filter cage towards the handle and twist until it snaps into place.
Visual description: Steps show sliding the brush onto the cage and rotating it, pulling the cage off the cable, washing the cage under a tap, shaking excess water from the cage, cleaning the mesh with the brush, and finally sliding and twisting the cage back into place.
