Activate Easier Curling with the MyDyson™ App
Setting up your personalized curl sequence is quick and easy, taking under two minutes.
- Download the MyDyson™ app.
- Set up your hair profile and enable the i.d. curl™ personalized curling sequence in the MyDyson™ app.
- Attach a curling barrel to your device. Press the Power button to activate the sequence.
Your Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x™ will then wrap, style, set, and release consistent curls, automatically adjusting heat and airflow based on your hair's best settings.
MyDyson™ App Connectivity: App functionality may vary by market and requires an internet connection. Operating system and mobile device requirements are available on the App Store or Google Play.

Getting to Know Your Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x™
- Attachment Learning:
- On first use, your device defaults to recommended temperature and airflow settings for each attachment. These settings are remembered for future styling.
- Power Button:
- Activates airflow for all attachments and initiates automatic features (Curling barrel and AirSmooth™ only).
- Temperature Control:
- Four heat settings, including constant cold.
- Airflow Control:
- Three airflow speeds: high, medium, and low.
- Bluetooth® Wireless Technology LED:
- Indicates device connection to the MyDyson™ app. Flashing blue means connecting; constant blue means connected.
- Auto LED:
- Indicates an attachment with automated features is attached and enabled (Curling barrel and AirSmooth™ only). To disable automated features, hold the Power button for five seconds until the Auto LED lights up. Hold again to re-enable.
- Cold Shot:
- Hold to deactivate the heating element and set your style.
- Filter LED:
- Flashing white indicates no filter detected. Amber indicates filter cleaning is needed. If amber continues to flash after cleaning, contact the Dyson Helpline.
- Removable Filter:
- Easy to remove for cleaning. Refer to the 'Regular filter maintenance' section.
Intelligent Attachments
Your device operates only when an Intelligent attachment is clicked into place. RFID chips within each attachment communicate with your Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x™ to instantly adapt to recommended temperature and airflow settings. Your preferred styling preferences are remembered.
Pause Detect
Pause detect uses a motion-sensing accelerometer to detect when the device stops moving, automatically deactivating heat and airflow to reduce noise.
Bluetooth® Wireless Technology to Connect to the MyDyson™ App
Connect your Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x™ to the MyDyson™ app for personalized tips and advice based on your hair profile. This allows for faster, easier, and more consistent curls by automatically adjusting heat and airflow for each styling stage.
Styling Attachments
All attachments click into place easily. When removing attachments, hold the cooler edges or tips.

Using Your Attachments
Connecting the Attachment: Click the attachment into the main body until it fits securely.
Changing Attachments: Slide the Release button and remove using the cool tip or edge.
Cool Touch Tip: Curling barrels and round brushes get hot during use. Hold the tip or cool edge when changing attachments.
Handling Hot Attachments: Hold the attachment only in the indicated area.
Pre-styling
For straight and wavy hair, use the Fast dryer 2x attachment. Hair should be dry but feel cool to the touch before curling.
For curly and coily hair, use the Anti-snag loop brush 2x. Brush hair downwards in small sections from ends to roots until slightly damp.
Curling
Using the i.d. curl™ personalized curling sequence:
The Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x™ remembers your personalized sequence, tailoring wrapping and styling times to your hair profile via the MyDyson™ app.
Curling Barrels
- Press the Power button, then take a section of hair and bring the curling barrel towards the tips. Hair will start to wrap around the barrel.
- Move the styler towards your head without twisting. Your personalized i.d. curl™ sequence will begin.
- The Cold shot will automatically activate to set the curl. Airflow will automatically turn off when the sequence is complete. Move the device downwards to release. To change curl direction, rotate the barrel's cool tip.
Shaping
Anti-snag loop brush 2x: Use from root to tip.
Tip: Turn the brush inwards at the ends to create shape. Face bristles outwards to maintain volume.
Smoothing
Airsmooth 2x™ Attachment: Use on dry hair after styling with the Anti-snag loop brush 2x. Place a section of hair between the attachment's arms. Press the Power button to clamp the arms and slowly move down the hair. When Auto mode is enabled, the device detects a full pass and automatically unclaps to release the hair.
Tip: Move the Airsmooth 2x™ attachment slowly through a small section of hair. If movement is too slow, the device may interpret it as a completed pass and open the arms prematurely.
Volumising
Round volumising brush 2x: Diffuses airflow evenly down the brush for controlled styling with less frizz. Tapered bristles pivot to release hair easily.
Tip: Lift sections upwards as you dry to add volume. Wrap hair around and under the brush to shape the ends.
Regular Filter Maintenance
Filter cleaning is overdue when the Amber LED starts flashing. Ensure the device is unplugged from the mains electricity supply and has cooled down before cleaning.
The Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x™ requires regular filter maintenance to ensure optimal performance, as its technology needs to be kept free from dust and hair product residue.
- Step 1: Remove the filter by sliding it down the power cord and opening at the split line.
- Step 2: Soak the filter in a bowl of water.
- Step 3: Wash the filter cage under a warm, running tap.
- Step 4: Shake the filter cage to remove excess water, then leave to dry completely.
- Step 5: Open the filter cage at the split line and replace it back onto the device. Click into place.
