Immersive Experience Details
Atlantis Aquarium Madrid partnered with Panasonic technology, with industry specialist Power AV managing the project for 4 months, to deliver a fully immersive underwater experience without requiring visitors to submerge in water.
The innovative space features 20 distinct ecosystems, housing over 200 different species. The visual infrastructure comprises 42 video wall displays, 30 projectors, and more than 100 Panasonic screens.
The immersion begins at the aquarium's entrance with a giant display constructed from 42 Panasonic video walls. Upon crossing the threshold, the environment shifts to blue, guiding visitors towards digital immersion tunnels. These tunnels are enhanced with upper panels, two giant screens, and integrated aquariums.
Panasonic projectors display content on the walls, illustrating the mysteries of the deep sea and highlighting the challenges faced in preserving underwater habitats. Atlantis Aquarium Madrid aims to provide an interactive tour that showcases species and ecosystems from rivers and seas, utilizing digital, virtual, and mechanical elements to educate visitors on planet protection.
Through this collaboration with Panasonic, Atlantis Aquarium has become a venue where reality and the digital world converge, allowing aquatic species to coexist with virtual projections that are nearly as captivating as the real creatures.
A rigorous selection process was undertaken to choose the technology that would meet the aquarium's high quality standards and commitment to innovation across every aspect of the installation.
About Atlantis Aquarium
Atlantis Aquarium is an initiative by the Parques Reunidos group, situated within the Intu Xanadú shopping centre in Arroyomolinos, Madrid.
This innovative facility houses 20 aquariums containing approximately 10,000 specimens representing 150 species. Notable inhabitants include the loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) and the gentoo penguin, alongside various tropical fish, corals, and jellyfish.
The aquarium's diverse ecosystems, ranging from mangroves and coral reefs to abyssal depths and Antarctica, culminate in a virtual beach experience. Each ecosystem offers interactive activities designed to educate visitors on topics such as the sustainable use of water, methods for checking the speed or weight of marine species, and simply enjoying an interactive beach environment.
