Download & Registration
Scan the [QR code for Smart Life app download] to download the "Smart Life" APP. Alternatively, search for "Smart Life" in the App Store or Google Play to install the APP.
Open the "Smart Life" APP, tap "Register" to create a "Smart Life" account using your phone number or E-mail. Then, sign in to the APP.
Wiring Instructions
Wiring for Smart Switch
Please wire the switch according to the diagrams provided.
Wiring for EU Standard Switch
Connect the Neutral Wire to 'N', Live Wire to 'L', Forward connection to 'L1', and Backward connection to 'L3'.
Wiring for US Standard Switch
Connect the Neutral Wire to 'N', Live Wire to 'L', Forward connection to 'L1', and Backward connection to 'L3'.
Wiring for Two Motors
Connect the Neutral Wire to 'N', Live Wire to 'L', Forward connection to 'L1', and Backward connection to 'L3'.
Adding Devices
Add Devices in Easy Mode (Recommended)
Ensure your smart device is powered on and your mobile phone is connected to your Wi-Fi network. Long press the Stop button for more than 5 seconds until the blue indicator light flashes quickly (approximately 2 times per second). This indicates the device is ready for configuration.
Open your "Smart Life" APP, tap the '+' icon in the top right corner. Select the Device Type, then tap it and confirm the indicator light is rapidly blinking. The APP will automatically fetch your Wi-Fi network password. Tap "Confirm" to connect to the device.
Upon seeing "Successfully added 1 device", the connection is complete, and your device will appear in your APP list.
Add Devices in AP Mode
If Easy Mode fails, users can add devices via AP Mode.
Long press the Stop button for over 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes quickly. Then, long press the Stop button for another 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes slowly. This signifies the device is ready for AP Mode configuration.
Tap '+' in the top right of the APP. Select the Device Type and then select "AP Mode" from the top right. Tap "Confirm indicator light slowly blink" and "Confirm". Then tap "Connect now" to navigate to the WLAN Settings interface on your mobile phone. Select the Wi-Fi network named "SmartLife_XXXX" to connect.
Return to the "Smart Life" APP; the connection will commence automatically.
When "Successfully added 1 device" appears, the connection is complete, and your device will be listed in your APP.
Works with Google Home
Preparation
- A Google Home device or an Android phone with Google Assistant.
- The latest Google Home APP (Android only) and a Google account.
- The device display language must be set to English (US).
- Smart Life APP and a registered account.
- The smart device.
Setup with Google Home APP
Open the Google Home APP and sign in to your Google account. Connect the Google Home APP with your Google Home device following Google Home's instructions.
Select the Wi-Fi network you wish to connect your Google Home to and follow the instructions. Ensure your Google Home APP and Google Home device are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Note: Due to a known bug in the Google Home APP, only one Google Home account can control "Home Control Action". If you are signed into the Google Home APP with multiple accounts, only the first account signed in can be used for "Home Control".
Link Smart Life Account in Home Control
Tap "Home Control" in the hamburger menu on the Google Home APP's Home Page, then tap "+". Find "Smart Life" in the list. In the new window, select your Smart Life account region, enter your Smart Life account and password, then tap "Link Now". After assigning rooms for devices, they will be listed on the Home Control page.
Control Your Smart Devices via Google Home
You can now control your smart device using Google Home. For example, with a device named 'bedroom light':
- "OK Google, turn on/off bedroom light."
- "OK Google, set bedroom light to 50 percent."
- "OK Google, brighten/dim bedroom light."
- "OK Google, set bedroom light to red."
Works with Amazon Alexa
Preparation
- Amazon Alexa APP and account.
- Smart Life APP and account.
- An Echo device (e.g., Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Tap).
- The smart device.
Setup Echo with Amazon Alexa APP
Sign in with your Amazon account. Tap the Homepage icon (top left), then tap "Settings" and "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions.
Select an Echo device. Long press the dot button on top of your Echo device until the orange light appears, then tap "Continue". Select your Wi-Fi network and connect according to the instructions. This process may take several minutes.
Enable Our Skill in Alexa APP
Tap the Homepage, select "Skills", then search for "Smart Life". Select "Smart Life" and tap "Enable Skill".
You will be redirected to the account linking page. Enter your Smart Life account and password, ensuring you select the correct country/region for your account. Tap "Link Now" to connect your Smart Life account. A confirmation message "Alexa has been successfully linked with Smart Life" will appear. You can also tap "Disable Skills" to remove the link.
Control Your Smart Device Through Echo
Echo needs to discover your smart devices before you can control them. You can say "Alexa, discover devices" to Echo, or tap "Discover Device" within the APP. Discovered devices will appear in the list. Note: If you rename a device in the Smart Life APP, Echo must re-discover devices for the changes to take effect.
You can now control your smart devices via Echo. Example commands for a device named 'bedroom light':
- "Alexa, turn on/off bedroom light."
- "Alexa, set bedroom light to 50 percent."
- "Alexa, brighten/dim bedroom light."
- "Alexa, set bedroom light to red."
You can also create groups in the Alexa APP. Tap "Create group", name it (e.g., "my smart lights"), select devices to add, and tap "Save". You can then control devices by group, for instance, "Alexa turn on my smart lights" will activate all lights in the group.
Q&A
Why is adding a device failing?
- Ensure the device is powered on and close to your mobile phone during setup.
- Verify your mobile phone is connected to Wi-Fi and your router is functioning correctly.
- Confirm the device is ready for configuration. Refer to the "Add Devices in Easy Mode" or "Add Devices in AP Mode" sections.
- Check if the number of connected devices has reached your Wi-Fi router's limit. Disconnect some devices if necessary.
- Ensure the Wi-Fi network password is entered correctly.
- If you have a dual-band Wi-Fi router, make sure you are connecting to the 2.4GHz network.
- Avoid using Chinese characters in your Wi-Fi network name.
Can I control the device using a 2G/3G/4G network?
For the initial device addition, your mobile phone and the device must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. After successful addition, you can control the device remotely using 2G/3G/4G networks.
How can I share my device with others?
- Open your Smart Life APP, select your device, and tap the top-right button. Tap "Device Sharing" then "Add". Select the account's country/region and enter the phone number or E-mail address of the person you wish to share with (ensure the account is registered).
- Alternatively, open your Smart Life APP, tap "Profile" (bottom right). Select "Device Sharing", add the desired device, select the account's country/region, and enter the recipient's registered phone number or E-mail address.
How can I manage devices shared by others?
Open your Smart Life APP, tap "Profile" (bottom right), then "Device Sharing". Devices shared by others will be listed there.
