This guide provides instructions for connecting Smart Life enabled devices with Amazon Echo using the Alexa app.
Connecting Smart Life Devices with Amazon Echo
This section details the process of integrating your Smart Life devices with Amazon Echo for voice control.
Part 1: Preparation
Ensure you have the following:
- Amazon Alexa App
- An Amazon Alexa Account (registration required)
- Smart Life App
- A Smart Life Account (registration required; select "USA" as the region)
- An Amazon Echo device (e.g., Echo, Echo Dot)
- Your Smart Life enabled device (e.g., smart plug, switch)
Part 2: Set Up Your Echo Speaker via Alexa App
- Log in to your Alexa account. Register if you do not have one.
- Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top-left corner, then select "Settings".
- Choose "Set up a new device".
- Select your device type (e.g., "Echo").
- Follow the on-screen prompts. Press and hold the small button on the Echo until the light ring turns yellow.
- Tap "Continue" on the app. (Note: Do not use VPN software on your phone during this process.)
- Select your Wi-Fi network and wait for the connection to complete.
- After a brief voice introduction, proceed to the next step. The app will navigate to the Home Page, confirming the Echo is successfully connected to Wi-Fi.
Part 3: Enable Skills on Alexa App
- Select "Skills" from the options column.
- Search for "Smart Life" in the search bar.
- Choose "Smart Life" from the search results and tap "Enable Skill".
- You will be prompted to link your Smart Life account. Enter your registered username and password. (Note: This feature currently supports accounts registered in the United States.)
- Upon successful linking, a confirmation message will appear: "Smart Life has been successfully linked."
- Close the window to discover smart-home devices controllable by Alexa.
If an account is already bound, you can click "Disable Skills" to unlink it, then click "Enable Skills" to re-bind.
Part 4: Control Devices via Alexa App
Once setup is complete, your Smart Life devices can be controlled via your Echo device.
- Discover Devices: Say, "Alexa, find my device." Echo will begin searching for devices previously added to the Smart Life app. This process may take up to 20 seconds.
- Alternatively, you can tap "Discover Devices" within the Alexa app to view a list of discovered devices.
Note: "Echo" is one of the wake words. You can also use "Alexa" or "Amazon."
Part 5: Example Voice Commands
You can control your devices using commands such as:
- "Alexa, set bedroom light to 50 percent."
- "Alexa, brighten bedroom light."
- "Alexa, dim bedroom light."
- "Alexa, turn on/off bedroom light."
Smart Life App: Device Pairing and Management
Note: After successful configuration, rename your device using English letters for optimal voice command recognition.
Part 1: Download, Registration & Test
Download the "Smart Life" APP by scanning the provided QR code or searching for it directly in the App Store or Google Play.
Access the Register/Login interface. If you have an existing account, enter your phone number or email address along with your password. To register, tap the registration option and provide your phone number or email to receive a verification code.
Product Testing: Connect the device and test its functionality according to the wiring instructions to ensure it works correctly.
Note: The Smart Life App exclusively supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks. Please ensure your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network before adding a device.
Part 2: Add Device & Pairing Instructions
1. Add Device (Rapidly Blink Mode)
- Press and hold the device's button for approximately 7 seconds until the Wi-Fi red indicator flashes rapidly, signifying the Wi-Fi module is in pairing status.
- In the Smart Life app, tap the "+" icon in the top-right corner to add your device.
- Select "All device", then choose "Switch".
- Tap "Confirm indicator rapidly blink" (referencing Picture 1).
- Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap "Confirm" (referencing Picture 2).
- Wait for the device to be added successfully, then tap "Completed".
Note 1: Users can rename the device by tapping the "✏️" icon in the top-right corner.
Note 2: The device will enter pairing mode (rapidly blinking) if powered on/off three times consecutively within 1-2 seconds.
2. Add Device (AP Mode, Slowly Blink)
- Press and hold the device's button for approximately 7 seconds until the Wi-Fi red indicator flashes rapidly. Release the button, then press and hold it again for about 7 seconds until the Wi-Fi indicator flashes slowly.
- In the Smart Life app, tap the "+" icon.
- Select "All device", then "Switch". Choose "AP mode" from the top-right corner of the interface.
- Tap "Confirm indicator slowly blink".
- Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap "Confirm".
- Connect your phone's Wi-Fi to the device's hotspot, typically named "Smartlife-XXXX" (referencing Picture 3).
- Return to the Smart Life app's pairing interface.
- Wait for the device to be added successfully, then tap "Completed".
Note: The device name in the app must match the actual device name.
Note 1: Users can rename the device by tapping the "✏️" icon.
Part 3: WiFi Curtain Switch Pairing Instruction
- WiFi Paring: Press the left "open" or right "close" button (avoiding the middle "stop" button) for about 7 seconds until the red indicator flashes. Then, follow the steps in Part 2 to complete WiFi pairing.
- Curtain Track Time Setting: When the curtain is fully open, press the middle "stop" button for about 7 seconds until the blue indicator flashes. Release your finger. The curtain will begin closing automatically. Immediately touch the middle "stop" button again when the curtain has completely closed. The blue indicator will stop flashing, indicating the curtain track time setting is finished.
Part 4: RF433 Remote Pairing Instructions
- RF Paring Instruction: With the product turned off, press the on/off button (or touch the center circle of the desired gang on a touch switch) for approximately 3 seconds. The blue indicator will flash, showing the RF is in pairing condition. Then, press the corresponding pairing key on the remote controller. Pairing is completed successfully.
- RF Code Clearance Instruction: With the product turned off, press the on/off button (or touch the center circle of the desired gang on a touch switch) for approximately 3 seconds, and the blue indicator will flash. Release the button (or touch area). Continue pressing the on/off button (or touch area) until the indicator stops flashing, which means the clearance code is completed successfully.
Note: If the product has both RF and Wi-Fi functions, the red indicator light will flash first during this process. If the product only has RF function, the red indicator light will not flash.
Product Wiring Diagrams
Round Base WiFi Switch Wiring
This diagram illustrates the connections for a round base WiFi switch. It shows terminals for Live (L), Neutral (N), Load (L1, L2, L3), and a Fuse. A "Pairing key" is also indicated.
Note: Ensure correct connection of Live and Neutral wires.
Square Base WiFi Switch Wiring (Single Live Wire)
This diagram shows wiring for a square base WiFi switch using a single Live wire connection. Terminals for Live Wire (L) and Load (L1, L2, L3) are depicted. The Neutral (N) connection is not shown for this specific configuration.
Note: The Wi-Fi power adapter must be connected to L1; do not connect it to L2 or L3.
Square Base WiFi Switch Wiring (Neutral and Live Wires)
This diagram illustrates wiring for a square base WiFi switch requiring both Neutral (N) and Live (L) wires, along with connections for Load (L1, L2, L3).
Note: Ensure correct connection of Live and Neutral wires to their respective terminals.
Important Attentions
- Please check for any damage incurred during transportation. If the product is found to be defective or damaged, contact the supplier for a replacement.
- Strictly adhere to the specification instructions and keep the product in good and safe working condition.
- Install the switch in a suitable location, ensuring it is kept out of reach of children.
- When using socket-type products, ensure the plug is fully inserted into the socket.
- The total power of devices connected to a socket-type product must not exceed the socket's maximum power rating.
- For switch-type products, do not connect input and output terminals incorrectly.
- The total output power of switch-type products must not exceed the product's maximum power rating.
- Do not disassemble the product, as this may lead to security risks.
- During installation, switch off the power source. Do not connect to the electricity supplier while performing installation.
